How To Save A Time Limited Young Master - Chapter 48
Heloise placed her hands on the window frame and leaned out towards Blake, who was sitting on the tree branch.
“You’re just in time!”
“What?”
“I have something I wanted to ask Your Highness about.”
“About me?”
At the sight of Heloise’s sparkling eyes, Blake guessed her question, averted his eyes and rubbed the nape of his neck, probably feeling a little awkward.
“I’m a little mysterious, aren’t I? Ask away! I’ll tell you everything. But when you look at me like that, I’m a little shy.”
“What? What are you talking about? The thing I’m curious about is regarding the saintess.”
“The saintess? What about the saintess?”
Upon mention of the dead saintess, Blake raised his eyebrows like he was rather surprised.
“To be exact, about the <Book of Origin> that was in the saintess’s possession…”
Blake’s eyes changed instantly.
“Where did you hear that from?”
“What?”
“Where did you hear that?”
“Oh…… I heard about it at the funeral. At the saintess’s funeral.”
“Who told you about it?”
The person that first brought up the story was assumed to be the king.
But Isabel was the one that told Heloise about the Book of Origin.
“Her Majesty the Queen told me about it. That His Majesty the King was talking about the Book of Origin with Zenon.”
“The king brought up the Book of Origin? To Zenon?”
Blake frowned, like it was his first time hearing about this.
His reaction was so agitated that Heloise’s voice gradually became smaller before she knew it.
“Yes… I asked Zenon what they were talking about, but it didn’t seem like he wanted to talk about it either, so I’m asking you because I thought that as the Crown Prince and a member of the royal family, you should know about it.”
“I don’t know.”
He replied immediately.
Not only did he do that, Blake also started preparing to descend from the tree.
“You seem rather busy. I’ll be on my way.”
“Wait a minute!”
Heloise grabbed Blake’s coat and refused to let go.
“Why are you being like this?”
When his clothes were lifted halfway and his abdomen was exposed, Blake covered his chest with both hands and looked at Heloise with a surprised gaze.
“No! I didn’t mean to take off your clothes. Why are you running away? I was just asking!”
“I’ve already said that I don’t know. I’m still young, so the king wouldn’t tell me things like that.”
“What a joke! Who’s the one that’s cutting off the topic unnaturally and trying to leave?”
“Look for a library, a library. I really don’t know.”
Blake took off the coat that was in Heloise’s possession and actually tried to jump down from the tree branch.
The anxious Heloise stepped onto the window frame and hugged Blake’s arm.
“No! You can’t go!”
Even Heloise almost fell, but thanks to Blake, who performed floating magic the moment his body tilted in a direction, the both of them remained floating in the air and avoided death by falling from a height.
“Seriously, what’s wrong with you?”
“Tell me before you go!”
She had to know what the king was planning.
What exactly was the Book of Origin, and what did he discuss with Zenon? Heloise, who was responsible for Zenon’s safety, couldn’t let it go without getting to the true identity of her discomfort.
When Heloise clung to his arm, Blake sighed deeply while clutching her arm and asked in a tone that’s filled with reluctance.
“What are you curious about? I can’t tell you too much.”
As Heloise returned Blake’s clothes, which she’d taken off mistakenly, she spoke.
“What’s the Book of Origin? What in the world is that? Why did His Majesty call for Zenon to talk about it?”
“Well, it probably wasn’t mentioned out of boredom. It’s probably to ask him to look for the missing book.”
As Blake picked up his coat, he replied insincerely.
Heloise retorted, unconvinced by his words.
“Even if he’s given a long period of time, how would he locate a missing book? Isn’t it just some valuable ancient book?”
“That book is more like a magical tool… Hm, in any case, it’s something like that.”
As he spoke, he moved their floating bodies back into the dance hall.
After they barely managed to settle down on the floor, he seemed rather exhausted, like he wanted to end this conversation as quickly as possible.
However, upon hearing the words ‘magical tool’, Heloise tightened her grip on Blake’s arm.
“A magical tool? A child with a body that’ll be burdened when mana is used is being requested to look for a magical tool? Right now?”
“It’s an order from the king, not me. Also, I’m about to go and nitpick about that.”
“What are you going to nitpick about?”
She couldn’t say that she’d follow him to look for the king, so she asked discontentedly.
“First of all, I’ll inquire about the kind of deal he made with Zenon. If the king intends to use Zenon to monopolise the third volume, my plans will be disrupted.”
“The third volume?”
Blake nodded while puzzlement was written all over Heloise’s face.
“Yes, the third volume, Maris.”
“What’s that?”
“What else can it be, it’s the Book of Origin that has vanished this time.”
“There are three volumes?”
“……”
With a calm smile, Blake yanked his arm out of Heloise’s grasp, grabbed the window frame and prepared to jump down.
“You know a lot with this much information. I’ll get going now.”
“Wait! Wait a minute!”
Heloise clung to his waist hurriedly.
“I’m not asking just because I’m curious. I’m afraid that Zenon will be in danger.”
“Hah. Him, in danger? The passing mages from the magic tower will laugh.”
“He may become older, but he’s still just a young master that doesn’t know how scary the world is! That’s why I couldn’t refuse Your Highness’s suggestion, and listened meekly!”
“That punk also has something to gain from that, so you should just stay put. It’s concerning how naively you’re viewing him.”
“Oh, so is Zenon supposed to look for all three volumes? My apologies, but what about you, Your Highness?”
The words, “Has he gone senile?” was on the tip of her tongue, but when she realised that the person in front of her was the son of that senile Highness, she barely managed to hold it in.
“No, he has probably tasked him to find the second and third volumes. Because those two are the ones that are currently missing.”
“Would something disastrous happen if they’re all missing?”
“Well… I’m not too sure, but nothing good will happen. It’s because powerful magical tools are often used in futile places.”
Blake, whose waist was being held by Heloise, stared into space and let out a short groan “Ah,” before grabbing her arm.
“Someone entered my room. I’ve already answered all your questions, right? I’ll be on my way now.”
“What?”
“See you again.”
As soon as Blake tousled the hair of Heloise, who was tightly hugging his waist, his image blurred and disappeared from her arms in an instant.
“Heok! What’s this? He disappeared.”
Was this the convenience of magic?
“That punk could’ve escaped earlier…”
Although he was clearly reluctant to speak, she didn’t understand why he still remained in her grasp.
By the way, the Book of Origin.
She thought that it was just a book that vanished with the saintess’s death, but she didn’t expect for there to be three volumes.
“From the fact that the saintess possessed the third volume, it means that there’s someone that possessed the first and second volume. Why did the king have to entrust this job to Zenon?’
Just as she was about to leave the practice room in deep thought.
While lost in thought, Heloise encountered a maid outside the door.
“My lady!”
“Hmm?”
“Y—Young Lord Lionerik is currently in the first floor’s drawing room.”
“What?”
“Let’s change out of your practice clothes first. No, would it be more impolite to keep him waiting?”
“The Young Lord is here? Here?”
“Yes! This won’t do. I think it’ll be better to give up on changing, so hurry downstairs.”
When she went down to the first floor after hearing the maid’s words, Zenon was dressed neatly and waiting for Heloise in the drawing room.
“Zenon?”
“Hello, Heloise.”
Zenon, with long legs crossed and his chin propped up in a palm, looked so strong that his sickly complexion was overshadowed.
“What are you doing here?”
When she asked after approaching and taking a seat, Zenon immediately grabbed Heloise’ arm and opened his mouth.
“It’s been rather difficult to see you lately.”
“Oh……”
“Then, it’s a promise.”
Heloise realised that what he’d said then wasn’t just lip service.
It seems like he’d been waiting for a while, but Heloise hadn’t even thought about sending a letter to Zenon.
When she mumbled guiltily and flusteredly, Zenon spoke cheerfully.
“Shall we dine together?”
Come to think of it, the last time she’d met Zenon was during the saintess’s funeral.
Ever since then, she had been busy calming her mind for a while and preparing for Sienna’s dance lessons.
Besides, wasn’t she worrying about him just now?
Since he happened to be here, Heloise decided to sound Zenon out.
“Young Master, about that…”
“What’s with the honorifics again?”
Zenon’s face was wrinkled with suspicion.
“No, at the saintess’s funeral… What did you talk about with His Majesty the King?”
“……”
Zenon’s expression hardened instantly and he observed Heloise’s face.
As though he was estimating how much he should say.
After finishing his estimations, he immediately repeated the words he’d said previously.
“Didn’t I already tell you then. It’s something you don’t need to know.”
Heloise decided to take the initiative first.
“Didn’t His Majesty ask you to run an errand?”
“What are you trying to say?”
“Don’t you have anything you want to tell me?”
“I don’t?”
“Nothing at all?”
“Nope. Did you eat something bad?”
It meant, are you going to continue this?
As they looked at each other with expressionless faces, Heloise opened her mouth first.
“Emma.”
“Yes!”
The maid, who had been restless outside the drawing room, burst into the room when her name was called.
“Is there anything that you require?”
“I’ll be dining with the Young Lord. Make preparations for that.”
“Yes, understood!”
The maid left the drawing room happily.
Although she detested the fact that he’s hiding it from her, he must have a reason why he’s keeping it from her.
If she couldn’t stand it because she’s too worried, she can look into it separately.
Perhaps because he thought that the topic was successfully changed with Heloise’s retreat, Zenon reached out and smoothed the hem of her practice clothes.
“Were you practising dancing?”
