HP’S PARALLEL WORLDS - Chapter 2
After entering the orphanage and leaving it all up to Hetty to deal with the staff, Violet, being the one with the clear goal of taking Vincent away today, was unaware that her beautiful appearance, gifted to her by her mother, had alerted Vincent from the very beginning.
With no interest in children who are desperately trying to show off their own merits like a peacock, Violet had only just separated from Hetty and was immediately looking for Vincent.
Unbeknownst to Violet, the boy, who was at odds with the orphanage’s overall lively and cheerful atmosphere, had only just met her and had immediately seen through her unusual half-human identity.
Since the other party was currently staying in the reading room, which was empty except for him, she closed the door of the reading room as soon as she found her target, knowing very well that the conversation she was about to have with the other party about the world of magic was not suitable to be heard by those muggles in the orphanage who did not know about magic.
With black hair and black eyes, Vincent could have been called skinny if he didn’t have a baby-fat face, just by looking at his thin figure.
Vincent, who normally would have taken the attitude of “I’ll just listen to what you have to say, but I’ll make my own judgment as to whether or not to believe you” when dealing with adults and children alike, took the same attitude as he did in the past when confronted with Violet, who had left the crowd and come into the reading room. Vincent’s attitude was no different than usual.
Having seen the very cute, handsome boy in front of her in the pictures Hetty had brought back, Violet knew that if Vincent was willing to charm his way into the hearts of the others, he would be more than acceptable to more than one adoptive couple who came to pick out their own child, even if it was only on the basis of his physical appearance.
Knowing that since the other party was willing to stay in the orphanage for so long, it would not be easy to take him away easily, Violet then took out from her coat pocket a few thousand paper cranes that she had prepared.
Although she had not yet entered a magic school to receive formal magic education, and at the same time did not own a wand, Violet was still able to perform some small magic with her bare hands with the help of her own fumbling and practice in the past few years.
By making the cranes resting on her palms with their wings waving as if they were real birds, Violet was able to make them come to life and fly up from her palms and hover around her and Vincent in mid-air in the next second.
Children in the magical world usually show their magical talents when they are six or seven years old. Because they have not learned the theoretical knowledge and have not practiced under the guidance of their teachers, these children who show their magical talents are not able to control their power well.
Generally speaking, when they encounter a crisis, they will stimulate the power of magic because of their instinct to survive, so as to protect their own safety, but these children who have not yet entered the magic school, but also have a very small part, can realize the control and use of their own power, and then use some very simple magic tricks to enrich their daily entertainment.
In the beginning, but only just revealed their magical talents, they were able to make things move without touching them at all, Violet was not able to control this power well at first, so they were not able to make their chosen things move in a certain direction at a certain speed.
But now, after perseverance and practice, Violet has been able to control her power and make simple magic tricks to achieve the effect she envisioned, so at this moment, she was able to make the thousands of paper cranes she brought, hovering above her head and flying according to her will.
According to Hetty’s prior research, Vincent had in fact awakened his magical powers. Although he knew nothing about the world of magic because he had lived in an orphanage since he was a child, Vincent was able to control and use the power he possessed effectively because he had practiced and explored it on his own.
“So, the reason why you came to this place on purpose to find me is because you and I share the same extraordinary characteristics, is that right?”
Although he didn’t try to control the thousand paper cranes, he was in fact able to make them move without touching the object. Vincent was not at all shocked by the paper birds that flew up in front of him, but only immediately came to a realization that he understood why the other party had deliberately come to the reading room to look for himself.
Although he had seen magic shows on the TV that the orphanage had, he did not think that the tricks performed by those magicians were comparable to his own abilities, and Vincent was naturally able to identify very easily whether Violet was doing magic or not.
“It’s really easy to talk to smart people.” Faced with Vincent, who immediately understood her intentions, and feeling that this start to their conversation was having a really good effect, Violet then opened the door.
“I believe you know that you and I, this power that we have, is not something that any child can have. And the exact name of this wonderful power is actually – magic.”
“I was born into a very old magical family and was destined to be a witch in this life, and you, Vincent, do not belong to this magic-free world of ordinary people where the orphanage is located, but rather to the magical world in which I live. Therefore, the reason why I have come to this place today specifically is to be able to receive you into our world.”
For those children who live in the non-magical world, when people from the magical world come to them and inform them that the power they have is in fact not something evil but just magic, these children who grew up in the muggle world generally do not accept each other’s words that easily.
After all, the world of magic or something, it sounds too unbelievable, beyond the common sense of ordinary people. However, unlike those children who had never known that there was another wonderful world of magic outside of the muggle world, Vincent, when confronted with Violet’s words, accepted them almost immediately.
Although it was impossible to trust her at this moment, when we had only just met for a few minutes, Vincent knew very well that the only explanation for these wonderful phenomena in his own body was the rhetoric of the other side.
So, having already understood that the special abilities he had were not something that could be explained by the science of the muggle world, and having immediately accepted that there was another unknown world outside the world, Vincent did not understand why Violet had to come to this orphanage to find herself.
“According to you, the people who have the special ability that you and I have are not just one or two in this world, but there should be millions of them. So, since in the world you live in, there are more children like me than you can count, why did you purposely come to reach me?”
“Because your mother was once kind to my mother and myself. So, even if I don’t come to you at all, when you can enter the magic school, the school will send someone to meet you in the orphanage, but I still want to lead you into the magic world first, so that you can have a chance to get rid of this muggle orphanage that you don’t fit in with.”
“You knew my mother?” It wasn’t a mother’s or father’s love that he was craving, but simply a desire to trace his origins and find out where he came from, so Vincent couldn’t remain as calm and relaxed in the face of Violet, who claimed to know his mother.
Seeing that Vincent was no longer thinking anything other than judging and judging, as he had just done, Violet knew that the news of Merope had cast a stone in the boy’s calm and unruffled heart, and that he could no longer remain calm.
Vincent, who had been leaning lazily in the reclining chair he was sitting in, leaned forward slightly and tensed his muscles slightly, even though he still didn’t think he could believe everything he was told, but still wanted to hear what Violet had to say.
“Words alone are too pale and may be slightly off on some details, so if you want a vivid, graphic and comprehensive picture of what happened, then I hope you’d better come with me today.”
“Once you get to the place where I live now, you will naturally be able to see everything that has happened. So, are you able to make a good decision in a few minutes to determine whether you want to leave here with me or not?”
“……” Vincent didn’t think it was necessary for Violet to go to all the trouble of setting a trap and then trick herself out of the orphanage when she didn’t have to.
