I, a Radiant Paladin, Was Embraced by a Vampire Queen! - Chapter 28
“What’s going on with these two?”
“Why are only these two injured so badly?”
“Were these injuries caused by tripping over cracks?”
A few medical knights surrounded the two injured men who were lying on the ground. They looked left and right with a puzzled expression. “Surely not, right?”
The medical knights had just finished treating a few girls who had tripped over cracks and had their legs and arms scraped.
Just as he was about to turn around to treat the other patients, he saw the two young men lying on the ground, barely breathing.
Although the crack was almost 30 centimeters wide and was about 60 centimeters deep, it was only dangerous for children.
However, these two young men were adults. They wouldn’t be injured by the fall and be paralyzed on the ground.
“Ah!”
“Ah!”
“Ah!”
From time to time, the two young men who were paralyzed on the ground would let out delicate and painful sounds, as if they were groaning in pain or asking the Medical Knights for help.
After hearing the sound of the injured, the Medical Knights did not ask anymore and did not think too much. They sat on the ground and started to use recovery magic to heal the two young men.
Suddenly, with a “bang!”, a broken wooden board penetrated the thick wall of the tavern and flew towards a fruit stall by the roadside.
With another “bang!”, the exquisite fruit stall was smashed into smithereens.
Seeing this scene, a young man in the crowd could no longer sit still.
“F*ck!!!”
“That’s my shop!”
A young man who had just received treatment from the Medical Knight fell to his knees and looked at his fruit stall that had turned into ruins with tears streaming down his face.
Then, the young man fainted on the ground because he was too upset.
“F*ck!!!”
One of the Medical Knights shouted.
“I just finished treating you. Why did you faint again?!!!”
A Medical Knight saw that the wounded soldier he had just treated had fainted again. He walked forward helplessly and started treating the wounded soldier again.
However, this time, it wasn’t a superficial wound, but a mental one.
As the Medical Knight treated the fainted young man, he tilted his head and observed the situation inside the tavern.
Bang!
Bang!
In the tavern, Laite·Bellman was holding a two-meter-long sword in one hand and slashing continuously in one direction.
On a closer look, one would realize that there was no corpse of a werewolf that had been split in half on the ground where Laite·Bellman had swung his sword for the first time.
And if one looked closer, they could see that the alpha wolf was currently being carried by another werewolf who seemed to be his subordinate.
The werewolf with the alpha on his back now faced Laite·Bellman instead.
As he jumped backwards, he kept his eyes fixed on the front, constantly dodging the continuous slashes from the paladin.
Each of Laite·Bellman’s sudden swings hit the ground and the wall on the side, creating large craters and holes in the wall.
Laite·Bellman seemed to be a little irritated by this werewolf who was carrying the werewolf leader and jumping backward. He started to increase his speed.
This slight increase in speed that directly shortened the distance between himself and the werewolf that jumped back.
Laite·Bellman, who had suddenly appeared in front of the wolf, shocked it so much that the wolf almost fell down.
The subordinate wolf carrying the alpha wolf on his back was now right in front of him. Laite·Bellman then swung his sword horizontally at the abdomen of the subordinate wolf.
Following that, there was a “Pssh!” sound as a large amount of blood spurted out from the abdomen of the escaping wolf.
“Ah!!”
Bang!
“Ssss—”
Dong!
The wolf that had its abdomen split open let out a miserable cry.
Then, due to the force of the slash, he fell heavily onto the ground.
Due to the speed at which the subordinate wolf had jumped to avoid the attack, he slid forward a large distance when he fell to the ground. He only stopped when his head hit the wall with a violent thud.
“Ugh…”
“Cough cough! Cough cough cough!”
A large mouthful of blood gushed out of the underling wolf’s mouth, which had its fangs shattered.
“Boss… boss…”
“Are… are you okay….”
The underling wolf had a huge wound on its abdomen and spat out a large mouthful of blood. However, after being attacked, the first person it thought of was not itself but its boss. This loyalty was truly precious.
“I’m fine. I won’t die from these injuries.”
“But this injury of yours might just—”
The werewolf leader looked at this fellow who had been avoiding Laite·Bellman’s slashing attacks while protecting his own behind his back. Tears welled up in his eyes from time to time.
“It’s okay. I’m fine. I didn’t plan to get out of here alive anyway.”
The underling wolf, who was vomiting blood and had blood flowing out of his abdomen, looked at his boss with an expression of ‘I’ve achieved my goal’.
Before long, this subordinate wolf closed its eyes and took its last breath.
“Have a good trip, brother.”
The alpha wolf held tightly onto his subordinate who had fallen asleep permanently, unwilling to let go. It was only when Laite·Bellman walked towards him with his greatsword in one hand that he released his grip and prepared to fight.
“Shua shua shua!!!”
Nine figures suddenly appeared in front of the werewolf leader, who was still lying on the ground with all his bones broken.
These nine figures were the remaining nine subordinate wolves. They stood together and guarded in front of the alpha wolf, staring fiercely at Laite·Bellman who was walking towards them.
“What?”
Paladin Laite·Bellman spoke as he stared coldly at the nine werewolves guarding their leader.
“I just killed one, and the rest of you have come so quickly to die as well?!”
With a wave of the sword in his hand, Laite·Bellman instantly wiped clean the large amount of blood on the sword. The greatsword now looked as though it had been untouched.
The nine subordinates guarding the werewolf leader let out savage growls as they saw Laite·Bellman getting closer and closer to them. They signaled to their compatriots to prepare for battle.
Those roars that could scare people to death were like the cries of little birds in front of Laite·Bellman. They were not intimidating at all.
He was still holding his broadsword as he walked unhurriedly toward the nine wolves, even yawning from time to time..
