I Am Legend - 47 The Start of The War 1
“Nicely done, Skye! Good work, everyone!” shouted Ryth as he wiped his forehead with a handkerchief.
The moon was bright enough to light the dark night sky. The stars shone brightly, amidst the dark sky, showcasing their brilliance. The wind breeze was enough to make Ryth and others feel relaxed after a tiring day.
It was already 10 PM when Ryth finally called it a day. They were quite far from the safe zone from where the rest of the team were staying. With the help of Daedalus and his memory of ‘The Throne’, they found a cave near the grinding place to rest for the night. After checking the safety of the cave with the [Eye of Daedalus]’ skill, Ryth and the team went inside the cave and put down their bags.
Once done, Lady Elsa and Azalea went outside, accompanied by Llyod to put some detecting traps to prevent monsters from getting near the cave. Ryth, on the other hand, was taking a look at the loot that they had gained today.
Shortly after, Ryth went off to prepare to cook for dinner. Fortunately, Ryth had already prepared some firewood beforehand, so they do not need to look for firewood again. Ryth took some of the firewood from his bag and placed it near the camp. When Lady Elsa, Azalea and Llyod had returned, he asked Lady Elsa to lit up some fire on the firewood.
With the lit campfire in front of her, Lady Elsa took out the cooking utensils from her spatial magic inventory and placed it on the table nearby. Azalea, Ryth and Llyod, on the contrary, were preparing the ingredients. As for Skye? It was lazily lying down near the campfire, while trying to keep itself awake.
“Rawr…”
“Haha. Looks like Skye is sleepy.” Lady Elsa giggled as she watched Skye trying to keep its eyes open. “Don’t worry. It will be done soon.”
“Well, he did a good job today. He’s probably too tired right now but hungry. Look at how desperately he tries to stay awake. Haha,” Azalea laughed.
Ryth stroke Skye’s fur as he said, “Come on, don’t sleep yet. Eat first.”
“Rawr…”
For some reason, Skye does not want to eat raw meat. Instead, it seems like it wants to eat some roasted meat.
It took them 30 minutes to finish cooking, and they immediately dig in. However, Skye was already asleep, its eyes closed. But then, since Ryth knew that it was hungry, he purposely put the roasted meat in front of it. “Come on, wake up. The meat is ready.”
Smelling the aroma of delicious roasted meat, Skye immediately woke up and grab the meat with its jaw. However, the meat was still too hot so it hurriedly dropped the meat and waited patiently for it to cool down.

“There, there. Be patient,” Ryth comforted, while patting Skye’s head, “The meat won’t go anywhere.”
“Hahaha.” both of the women laughed while Llyod just chuckled as he took a full bowl of stew from the cooking pot.

After they were done with dinner, the four of them cleaned up the mess that they have made and went to their respective sleeping area. The others were already sleeping but Ryth was still wide awake. “Daedalus, let me take a look at my stats. I get the feeling that I’ve probably leveled up today but I might have missed the announcement.”
“Ku ku ku! Sure!”

Ryth raised an eyebrow as he looked at his stats. He sighed with relief when he saw that he had leveled up. “If I didn’t level up to level 40 today, that would be very disappointing. I mean, we’ve already encountered 4 level 40 monsters! Fortunately, we have prepared some traps in advance, or else we would get wipe out instead. This world is really similar to ‘The Throne’ and it seems like that bug where level 40 monsters will randomly respawn in here is still there!” Ryth thought to himself.
Ryth looked at Skye, sleeping beside him and smiled. He then called out, “Daedalus.”
“Right away.”

“Alright, good,” Ryth laid down, looking up at the ceiling. He then put both of his hands behind his head as a pillow and continued, “Put 1 point to AGI, 2 to VIT and the last 2 to STR.”
“Done!” replied Daedalus.
Because Lady Elsa and Azalea had already set up a trap earlier, no one was on night duty in guarding.
“Thanks Daedalus, let’s rest.”
“Ding!” an announcement appeared on Ryth’s interface.

“With this passive skill, I’m much stronger against bosses,” Ryth said as he smiled, “I guess that’s it for today. I’m beat, let’s sleep.”
“Okay.” Replied Daedalus.
—————–
“Hey, wake up Ryth.”
A soft soothing voice could be heard from his right side, he slowly opened an eye and saw Azalea’s lovely face. Ryth rubbed his right eye, still feeling sleepy. “Ah yeah, thanks for waking me up,” he said, yawning.
“Mhm. I’ll go and prepare breakfast with Master Elsa. You go get change first. Mr. Llyod is waiting for you further inside the cave,” said Azalea with a gentle smile on her face.
“Alright, I’ll help you when I’m done,” Ryth nodded.
The two of them went their separate ways with Azalea going to the campfire while Ryth went further inside the cave.
Ryth greeted Llyod, who was staring at the deeper part of the cave with curiosity. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing, my lord. I’m just curious about what’s inside.” Llyod replied, shaking his head.
Understanding dawned on Ryth. “Ahhh… There’s nothing inside. It’s just a cave,” Ryth explained as he opened his bandage that covered his left eye. He continued, “I’ll change my bandages first.”
“You’ve been inside the cave, my lord?”
Ryth nodded. “Well, yeah.” Though, he only checked the inside of the cave when he first played ‘The Throne’. And he was pretty sure that there was nothing important inside since it was a dead end. Thinking that it was probably the same in this world, he did not want to bother checking it.
“So, you’re done here? If yes, lets go and meet up with Lady Elsa and Azalea.”
“Ah right. Let’s go, my lord.” Llyod nodded his head.
Ryth and Llyod walked back to the campfire where Lady Elsa and Azalea were still cooking breakfast. Outside the cave, Skye was enjoying the soothing morning wind, lying on its side.
“Once we’re done with breakfast, lets go to the main camp and continue our journey.”
“Okay.” Lady Elsa and Azalea nodded their heads.
———–
After having their breakfast, Ryth and the team walked back to the main camp. Along the way, they had eliminated all the level 30 monsters that they encountered. Few minutes later, when they finally arrived at the main camp, they were greeted by Tregnar and Woodgard.
“Good morning, Mr. Myrad.” The both of them slightly bowed their heads in unison.
“Yes, good morning too,” Ryth smiled and continued, “How’s everyone?”
Tregnar looked at Ryth and replied, “They’re in good condition. In fact, we’ve just finished our breakfast a few minutes ago and now, we’re ready to continue the journey.”
Ryth nodded and said, “Alright, tell the team to get ready and we’ll be off in 15 minutes.”
“Yes, Mr. Myrad!” Tregnar and Woodgard nodded their heads and walked to the center of the crowds.
The time was 8 AM. The sky was bright blue with the wind blowing in the air. If there wasn’t any monsters around, this would be a good place for one to relax their mind.
Ryth was sitting on top of a big rock, with Skye on his head, as he waited for the others to get ready. He was enjoying the morning breeze when Azalea walked over and joined him. “Enjoying the breeze?”
“Mhm,” Ryth nodded. “We need to relax too. A healthy mind is also important. We shouldn’t be too anxious.” He then pointed at Skye, who was relaxing on top of his head and said, “See? Look at Skye. He’s just chilling.”
Azalea laughed softly. She reached up and patted the cub’s head. She then tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and continued, “Yeah, I think I should be like that too.”
“Rawr…” Skye softly growled. The wind made him sleepy.
“Hey hey, wake up,” Ryth reprimanded softly. “Such a lazy cub. Don’t you want to walk by yourself? Are you really going to use my head as your bed now?” Ryth asked, reaching up to poke Skye on its nose.
“Rawr!” Skye slapped Ryth’s head with its paw.
“Hey, don’t do that to my head!” Ryth said in exasperation.
Azalea giggled, as she watched their antics, “You two looked like best friends now.”
Ryth could only sighed and leave Skye alone. He then turned to Azalea and asked, “How are you doing?”
Azalea grinned. She turned her head towards the vast valley, her golden eyes shining with happiness. “I’m great. With you and the others by my side, There’s no doubt in the slightest that we will fail this mission. I just need to do my best,” she said, a determined look on her face.
Ryth felt relaxed when he heard Azalea’s words. He looked at her beautiful face, her silver short hair swayed in the wind. Ryth patted her on the head, smiling as he said, “Yes, that’s right. We just need to do our best and nothing will go wrong.”
“Mhm,” Azalea’s face turned slightly crimson red, looking down to hide her bashful face.
Ryth smiled.
Shortly after, Tregnar came with an awkward look on his face. “Uhm, Mr. Myrad…”
“Ah yes? Are you done?”
“Actually, we’re ready to go for quite awhile. We were just waiting for you two. It seems bad for me to interrupt the moment,” Tregnar said, scratching his cheek, looking at other places, other than the two in front of him.
Ryth felt slightly embarrassed when he heard Tregnar’s word. He coughed, trying to not feel awkward. Azalea’s face, on the other hand, was getting redder.
Ryth quickly stood up and said, “Ah… alright. Let’s go guys!”
