I Am Legend - 58 Pay Back
“Disgusting. This guy is crazy.”
“He had just lost his humanity. I think that cursed weapon took control of his consciousness and is now controlling his body. We need to kill him quickly before it hurt someone else.”
“Agreed.” Tregnar nodded. He slowly took a deep breath and calm himself down. He knew that a person’s worst enemy isn’t a strong opponent, but rather, anger and panic.
“Archers, back us up, I will be the vanguard with Woodgard,” Tregnar threw his black robe aside, revealing his armor. He then lifted his sword up and placed it on his shoulder, “Woodgard, I need you to help me too. I can’t keep blocking him since my weapon’s durability isn’t that strong. That weapon of his is made from ebony ingot. So, I’m counting on you to help me block his attacks.”
“Yeah, I know. Leave it to me. Just make sure you don’t stop your attacks on him.”
“Easy.”
“Archers, keep on attacking his blind spots!” Tregnar shouted as he ran forward. He swung his great sword and activated a skill.
Tregnar spinned to his left side using his sword momentum to evade. He then used the spin to attack once more.
“KAHAHA!” Just when the guard was about to face Tregnar to block his attack, he sensed something from above.
“THE ASSASSINS! I FOUND YOU!” he hurriedly jumped back.
“KAHAHA EASY!”
After seeing the guard avoiding his attack, Tregnar pulled his sword away, stopping in the middle of his attack.
Woodgard too noticed this and decided on a new plan of attack. He used the side of the great sword and stepped on it. Understanding what Woodgard was trying to do, Tregnar threw Woodgard towards the guard, with all of his strength.
“WOOSH!”
“WHAT?!” the guard was shocked at this sudden attack of theirs. He quickly thrust his sword towards Woodgard. However, the latter was quick as well. He managed to half-spinned in mid air to avoid the attack and activated a skill.
“SLASH!”
“ARGHHHHH!”
Blood dripped from the guard’s left ear, gushing out with blood as he keeps screaming in pain.
“HOW DARE YOUUUU!”
Woodgard smoothly landed on a big rock. He then turned and quickly ran to attack again. The archers use their skills at the same time, aiming at the crazy guard.
“WUSH!”
“WUSH!”
“AAAARGHHHHHH!!!”
Both Woodgard and Tregnar became wary when they saw this action of the guard’s. They quickly stopped advancing and jumped back to distanced themselves from the latter. They watched with narrowed eyes as the [Black Heart] slowly absorbed the blood on it.
They then became more guarded as the sword turned redder, like charcoals on fire. If Woodgard and the others had a game system, they would surely see the guard’s status suddenly increased.
+10 STR
+10 AGI
+10 VIT
“KAHAHAHAHA! I’M UNSTOPPABLE!”
“Tsk. This might take longer than we expected.” Tregnar clicked his tongue.
The cleric swordsmen who were done healing Flynt quickly returned back. Seeing what had happened, they immediately cast buff spells on Woodgard. Woodgard’s body began to glow with golden lights. He could feel his body very light and brimming with power.
“Let’s go!”
Both Tregnar and Woodgard rushed forward at the same time, the archers also launched their attacks.
“WUSH!”
“WUSH!”
“CLANG!”
“CLANG!”
The guard was smiling sinisterly as he blocked all of the arrows easily.
However, what the guard didn’t know was that the archers’ purpose was not to hit him, rather to prevent him from falling back.
Woodgard who arrived nearer to the guard, quickly activated a skill.
The guard parried both of the daggers and moved to the side. He then slashed his sword down.
Both Woodgard and the guard’s speed were the same. The former managed to duck, avoiding the blade and attacked the latter’s right leg soon after.
“SLASH!”
“KAHAHA!” The blood that came out from his injury was absorbed by the black sword. It began to turn even red-blacker.
Tregnar showed up behind the guard and jumped. Woodgard was still attacking the guard. And when, Tregnar activated his skill, so did Woodgard.
The guard had noticed Tregnar earlier. He blocked Woodgard’s attack and kicked him.
Woodgard was sent flying from the kick but he managed to lessen the impact by blocking the kick with his daggers.
“CLANG!”
The wind produced by the clashes of swords made their surroundings tremble violently from the impact.
Tregnar hurriedly pulled his sword back and continued to attack, slashing his sword horizontally, aiming for the guard’s abdomen. The guard blocked the attack, as he jumped a few steps back. He then activated a skill.
“AAAAAARGHHH!!!” Blood sprouted from the guard’s chest.
“NO, I DON’T WANT TO DIE!”
The guard said, tears started falling from his eyes, his eyes turned normal again from blood-red. The guard regained control of his body.
“This is pay back for every evil deeds you have done.”
“NOOOOOOO, I REFUSE TO DIE LIKE THIS!!!!!”
Woodgard pierced his heart with his dual daggers. He then activated a skill as he pushed his daggers horizontally. The left and the right daggers moved to each side respectively.
“SLAASSH!!”
The guard’s body ripped apart with blood spurting everywhere, painting the ground black and red. Woodgard had cut him into half.
Tregnar let out a long breath of relief. “Finally, the crazy pest is dead,” he said. He then looked down at his weapons and thought that if he had a better weapon as Woodgard’s, they probably would be able to be done with the fight much earlier.
Although Tregnar’s weapon was strong as it was made from orichalcum ingot, it did not stand a chance against a sword made from ebony ingot. Orichalcum ingot was a rare material and a high grade too. Then again, the strength from an ebony ingot was much stronger than from orichalcum ingot.
There were scratches all over Tregnar’s weapon, indicating that its durability had been reduced by over half. Tregnar let out a sigh. “D*mn. If only Mr. Myrad made me a weapon too,” he mused in a low breath. He then turned around and began to instruct the archers and cleric swordsmen to go assist Woodgard’s team and release the prisoners.
“Yes, Sir!” All of them disappeared quickly.
“Woodgard, what about the sword?” Tregnar asked Woodgard who was still wiping the blood from his face.
“I think if we put it on its sheath, it will be alright. I’ll carry it and give it to Mr. Myrad later to examine.”
“Alright, then.”
Once Woodgard was done, he walked over to where Flynt was lying down. Although he seems alright, he was still unconscious. Woodgard carefully carried him on his back. He then turned to Tregnar and said, “Okay. Let’s go now. We shouldn’t waste any more time. We need to free the prisoners before Ranghyl comes.”
“Yeah.” Tregnar nodded and quickly followed Woodgard.

Meanwhile inside the palace of the high elves city, Griefendell, a guard was running towards the Chief’s Hall. He looked haggard as he was almost out of breath. Another guard who was guarding the entrance to the Chief’s Hall frowned when he saw the former panting as he stood in front of him.
“What had happened?” he asked.
“URGENT REPORT! I NEED TO INFORM THE CHIEF RIGHT NOW!”
“Alright, alright, come in.” The guard hurriedly opened the door and went inside, accompanying the man who had to report.
Inside, There were was a high elf who looked like in his mid 30s. He wore a luxurious golden robe with jewellery and ornaments adorning his robe. On his fingers, there were a lot of rings that looked like it cost millions. The elf was sitting on a long chair, sandwiched by two female elves, wearing almost nothing on their skins. The two were dancing seductively near the male elf.
“What made you disturb my relaxing time? I hope that you have a good reason for this.” The man’s fierce gaze was intimidating Although the two female elves looked frightened, they did not dare to move or many any noises.
“I won’t dare, Chief! I have an urgent report,” he hurriedly replied. He was so scared by the fierce gaze and aura that emitted from the man, who apparently weren’t pleased by his disruptions.
“The prison was attacked! I was guarding the city wall when I saw a distress signal from the prison gate. I went over to check and saw the gate was opened. Then I saw some men wearing black clothes together with some women on top of the prison wall. I quickly hurried here to report to you, Chief!”
“I see. So she’s finally come back… HAHAHAHAHA! This is great,” The man laughed loudly. He pushed away the two dancers and stood up. He then turned his gaze to the side and smiled viciously, “Rhangyl, you hear that? Go exterminate those rats.”
The man who was sitting at a huge dinner table, was eating fruits. He licked his fingers and stood up. “As you wish, Chief Wildan.”
The man grabbed his big sword that was leaning against the table and walked to the Hall which led to the barrack.
