I and My Husband Sleep in a Coffin - CH 54
Chapter 54 Honest kids get to eat ‘candy’
A month later.
When Wang Xiaomie peered in the mirror, he saw the red feather design snaking up from his chest. His fair complexion accentuated it, and the tattoo, which resembled a painting of linked capillaries, emphasized the sense of beauty like a rose in the snow.
Wang Xiaomie stroked his finger on the left side of his face along the curve of his chin, and red sharp buds appeared, half a finger’s length longer than a month earlier.
The rounded finger measured the distance between the left eye’s corner and the blossoming scarlet bud.
…It’s gotten closer to my eye.
Furthermore, the tattoo appeared to be entangled with his body and became inextricably linked with him, despite the fact that they remained two completely separate entities.
It was similar to a pregnant woman. The two lives are so connected that they can clearly feel the presence of the other.
The round fingertips pressed down hard, and the feather lines under his fingers emitted an incomprehensible sensation and acute agony. Wang Xiaomie frowned and loosened his grip, biting his bottom lip. His expression turned a bit ugly.
Not only is this thing strange, but it’s also…
Wang Xiaomie returned to the upstairs bedroom.
His gaze was drawn to the person seated at the desk in the room as soon as he entered it.
At that moment, it appeared as if a filter had been placed over his eyes. His eyes sparkled with an incomprehensible light, and ‘greedily’ swept over the man with crossed legs leaning back on the chair, one hand holding a book, and his long and narrow drooping eyes.
The room was filled with a bitter and astringent medicinal fragrance unique to the other party.
Wang Xiaomie appeared to have switched perspectives at this point. From the standpoint of a stranger, he returned to a God-like view of the man who slept by his side every day.
His eyeballs rolled slowly, as though they were floating away from that slender yet powerful figure.
The other person had just finished bathing, and his long silver hair was spread out gorgeously and nobly. Some strands dropped on his shoulders and flowed down to his lower abdomen, forming a silver circle, while others simply hung down from the sides of his face, their ends squeezed behind his back, but the majority of them went past the back of the chair and onto the velvety carpet.
The nightgown was too big to hide those long, straight legs. If you felt with your hands, you’d think the stretch between the knee and the ankle would never end.
Wang Xiaomie blinked as though scorched when the legs suddenly moved. He was a little embarrassed, but his long eyelashes obscured his pupils and his inexplicable perspective insisted on roving up.
Wang Xiaomie’s gaze was fixed on the other party’s chest. The man had a great physique. After all, he was a martial arts practitioner and was known as the “No.1 person” back then, therefore his chest would not be as thin as Wang Xiaomie’s.
Every bit of flesh was covered in supple skin and carried a great explosive force, which was full of beauty when not moving, and full of wildness and formidable might when it burst!
He lowered his eyes and crouched quietly, like a resting silver fierce beast. When he pounced, he would rip everything apart, exposing its flesh and blood, heart, and most secret darkness to the air…
Wang Xiaomie bobbed his throat as he quietly expelled the breath he was holding and raised his hand to cover his nose and mouth.
From the blazing red pattern between the brows to the long brows and sunken eye sockets, the face with silver hair was serene and sumptuous, with a proud beauty… A circle of shadow formed the bridge of the nose, making it high and straight, while the mouth below the nose had exquisite lips.
They were bright red and moist. The upper lip was thin, and the lower lip was just right. When they smiled at people, they seemed to exude the aloofness of a king.
From his vantage point, he peered up and down sneakily and slowly. In fact, he had only been there for a few seconds when the other party noticed him. He was flustered and looked away when the pair of long and narrow eyes with black pupils that took up most of the eye sockets peered at him.
Am I sick? What just happened?
Wang Xiaomie bowed his head and pretended to use a towel to dry his hair. From the corner of his eye, he noticed two legs tread on the velvety rug. As the other party came to a halt in front of him, the dark blue fluff sank and popped up with each stride.
The other party leaned over and buried his cool huge palm into his wet hair on the back of his head. Wang Xiaomie habitually let go of the towel to let him dry his hair.
Sharpened fingers slid through the black hair, lightly brushing it.
Wang Xiaomie’s nose was only a few centimeters away from the other person’s neck at this point.
As his prominent collarbone and defenseless neck laid bare to his gaze, he inhaled the deep bitter aroma coming from the man.
Wang Xiaomie clenched his teeth and stared straight at it.
“What’s the matter with you today? You have not said a single word.” A man’s deep, low voice rang out from above his head.
These words appeared to have shattered something.
Wang Xiaomie stared blankly for a moment, with nothing in his eyes. He raised his hand and rubbed his eyes, puzzled as to why he seemed to be bewitched just now.
“…It’s nothing, I’m just a little sleepy.”
“You’re lying to me.” He laughed softly, “We don’t actually need sleep.”
“I’m used to sleeping every day,” Wang Xiaomie added with a laugh.
“And what about that pattern on your body?”
“Oh…that.”
I mustn’t tell him. If it doesn’t hurt, I mustn’t tell him.
“It’s okay,” Wang Xiaomie smiled and said, touching his shoulder.
“Really? Let me have a look.”
“No need. Let’s lie down in the coffin for a while, okay? It’s time to go to bed.”
“Alright.”
A few minutes later, Wen Fengjin turned his head and sighed quietly inside the red double burial coffin, covering Wang Xiaomie’s eyes with his palm.
“Aren’t you going to sleep, why are you staring at me?”
Wang Xiaomie blinked, sweeping his long eyelashes across Wen Fengjin’s cool palm, producing a tingling itch.
“I don’t know. I just suddenly want to see you today.”
Wen Fengjin was surprised for a moment by his honesty, but then the corners of his lips slowly perked up in a joyful arc, and his gaze warmed up.
Wang Xiaomie was virtually speechless as he finished speaking. He had no idea why he was acting as if he had taken Veritaserum[1] today. Usually, he’d think about it in his head at best, and take some small advantage secretly.
He was too shy to say corny words even if he and Wen Fengjin had known each other for two lifetimes. He’d be stuck running into an actual person, no matter how much he liked them on the Internet or in his heart.
“Don’t you like it when I stare at you?” questioned Wang Xiaomie bluntly.
Inwardly, he was thinking: What the hell am I talking about?
Wen Fengjin softly laughed as he heard the words: “I like it.”
Wang Xiaomie: “I like it too. I like looking at you, and I like it when you look at me.”
—Death through disgrace! What’s up with my out-of-control mouth! F*ck, I’m dead!
Wen Fengjin withdrew his hand from blocking Wang Xiaomie’s vision, and the two pairs of eyes locked gazes. Wen Fengjin half-smiled and stretched his tone after a long time, “Hmm~”
With his silver hair flowing over his shoulders, his half-closed eyes were full of smiles and unknown meanings. He looked wicked and dishonest.
“So~ Is it really what I think it is?”
Wang Xiaomie’s palm was held by a somewhat cool hand, and their fingers were clasped together, caressing the soft thenar.
In his heart, Wang Xiaomie shook his head crazily: …No, no, no!
But in reality, Wang Xiaomie nodded honestly: “Yes, I want it.”
…I must be possessed, I have to be. Wang Xiaomie wanted to cry but had no tears.
Wen Fengjin laughed as he finished speaking, appearing even more like a devil who wanted to enjoy his dessert. “You usually refuse me, so I thought you didn’t like it.”
Wang Xiaomie was terrified, and his back broke out in goosebumps, but on the surface, he murmured sweetly and arrogantly.
“It’s not that I don’t like it. I have to be a little reserved, and I’m shy. If I refuse you once, you can ask a second time. Did I truly turn you down? I wanted you to tell me how much you liked me every time, but you back down after being refused once. Humph! Are you a man?! Aren’t you going to make an effort?! Don’t you understand the simple principle of ‘surrendering after making a show of resistance’?!”
Wang Xiaomie wanted to run over Wen Fengjin headlong as soon as he made these remarks.
I don’t get it, I truly don’t get it! Ahhh, I can’t tell what I’m doing anymore! F*CK—! Is what I am saying human? If I want to save face, I need to SHUT UP–!
He’d already realized he was out of the ordinary today. He was merely staring at his ‘roaring drunk’ self soberly. My old face has been lost!!!
Wang Xiaomie wanted to cover his mouth with his hands, but they were clasped together with Wen Fengjin’s, and he couldn’t pull them apart.
So he could only stare at Wen Fengjin’s increasingly intrigued smile and fall apart while listening to his chat with Wen Fengjin.
Wen Feng laughed: “Oh~ so that’s what you think?”
Wang Xiaomie (No! I don’t!): “That’s right! You’ve been reading those ancient books and ignoring me lately—humph! You’re either indifferent or you can’t get it up!”
Wen Fengjin smiled as he cocked his eyebrow: “Can’t get it up? Would you like to put it to the test?”
Wang Xiaomie (no, no, no!): “Okay.”
…Ahhh, I’m dead.
The man leaned in and pressed against Wang Xiaomie’s head, his shoulders shaking with laughter.
Wang Xiaomie felt that he had never longed to explode on the spot so badly in his life.
“Have you been drinking?”
“No.”
“You miss me so much?”
“Yeah.”
The little sweet zongzi f*cking nodded, “…You haven’t talked to me recently, so lonely.”
As for Wang Xiaomie’s inner voice…it was already dead and buried.
Wen Fengjin thought today’s Wang Xiaomie was odd as well. He sniffed as the tip of his nose crept close to Wang Xiaomie’s neck and rubbed the vein lines on the palm of their interlocked hands, smiling.
As their eyes met in the dim light, Wen Fengjin remembered: this was not a fake, this was his senior brother, his sleep lamp[2], his Xiaomie[3].
The eyes in the dark were still clear and limpid, but there seemed to be a thin layer of crimson on the cheeks and ears.
So, had he really been ignoring him lately?
Wen Fengjin bit Wang Xiaomie’s lips.
However, he discovered that today’s senior brother was surprisingly honest, so Wen Fengjin murmured wickedly next to his ear: “Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you. So, what do you desire? Hmm?”
The person below responded in hushed tones, and Wen Fengjin’s smile intensified as the bitter medicinal aroma filled the air.
“Okay.”
He said, “Your wish is my command.”

……
Wang Xiaomie propped up his disheveled head the next morning, his face expressionless. He wouldn’t know how he lasted till the morning if it weren’t for his excellent repair ability. More importantly, he had no idea what dirty stuff he had eaten the day before, making him court disaster by saying such words to Wen Fengjin!
But he soon discovered something even scarier.
He couldn’t lie!
[The author has something to say: this thing has many side effects, but it has a lot to do with their blood.]

[1] A magical truth potion from the Harry Potter universe.
[2] The author has used 眠灯 which means “sleep lamp” i.e night lamp here. It could be slang for something, but I’m not familiar with it.
[3] The ‘mie’ in Xiaomie is 咩 which means “the bleating of sheep.” It’s possible that the author meant it as a pun. WFJ may be thinking to himself, “He is my little lamb.” I hope I’m not overthinking things. lol
