I Became a Mafia in the Academy - Chapter 213
Chapter 213
Walking toward the auditorium for the vacation ceremony the kids’ eyes were filled with anticipation and excitement.
“Jin-woo, do you have any plans for this vacation?”
Young-jae asks Jin-woo as he walks beside me, leading the class.
“I’m just going to spend the whole day playing games.”
Se-ah sighs at Jin-woo’s predictable response.
“So you’re just going around getting knifed by our goddess. What are you doing with a strong father to train you?”
“I’d rather ask my mentor for a favor. My father is even worse, he actually thinks that killing his children makes them stronger. Im not some kind of alien fighting race, really.
Antonio’s methods are a bit radical, to be honest.
Even so, I didn’t expect him to choose Han Yeo-eun.
“Glasses, what do you plan to do?”
“Me? I think I’m training.”
“Ugh. Do you really have a disease that will kill you if you don’t train?”
Young-jae smirked at Jin-woo’s frightened expression.
“Because I need to be strong for my goal.”
Young-jae’s teacher is still trapped in Dante’s Hell (La Divina).
Due to the difficulty of the dungeon, I haven’t even organized a proper rescue plan yet, but I’m definitely getting stronger than when I first made the promise to Young-jae.
At this rate, it probably won’t taketoo long.
Jin-woo looked at Se-ah as if he didn’t like the fact that he was the only one answering.
“What are you planning to do on your vacation, and why do you look so excited?”
“What? Me? Of course I’m going to play! Normally, I’d spend it working a part-time job to support myself, but I’ve saved up quite a bit of money from myactivities, so I’ll be traveling with my siblings and relaxing at home during my vacation! Oh, and maybe train sometimes?” 𝒩ewW 𝒏ovels upd𝒂tes on nov/𝒆l/b(i)𝒏(.)com
Everyone seemed to have something planned.
“What about you, Eugene? Aren’t you going anywhere?”
Then the question was suddenly directed at me.
“Me?”
“Yeah. I’m sure Eugene has something to do on his vacation.”
“Umon vacation.”
In fact, I had plenty of things to do during my vacation.
There’s always family work to do, regardless of whether there’s a vacation or not, and with all the materials I’ve gotten this time, as well as things I’ve gotten in the past, it’s time to upgrade my equipment.
In short, it’s not that I don’t have anything to do, it’s that I don’t know where to start.
“I’m sure I’ll be busy running around.”
“Come on, why don’t you come over to my place and we’ll play some games. They treat me differently when my friends come over than when I’m alone.”
“Do you think Mr. Eugene is as free as you? Stay home and play video games!”
Is it because I’m more excited than usual?
I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the sight of them fighting.
As we walked along, making small talk, we soon arrived at the auditorium. There, all the students of the academy, including us, were gathered in sections.
“Ah, it’s Choi Yeon! Eugene. First grade must be over there!”
Se-ah smiles brightly when she spots Choi Yeon sitting far away in the distance. She looks in our direction and waves gently.
Se-ah waves back enthusiastically.
But what caught my eye more than anything else was the sight of Jung Hoon sitting at the front of the group.
Unlike the excited children around him, he was looking at the podium with a somber expression.
Of course, it’s not hard to figure out why he’s wearing that expression.
It was last night. The whole country was made aware of the incompetence of the National Police Agency’s Awakeners Unit.
I wonder if he read the comments on an article somewhere?
Well, it’s none of my business.
We, Class 1-A, walk to our assigned positions.
We’re considered the ace of the class, not only because we have the highest grade point average, but also because we won the class ranking game.
Because of this, our chairs are quite comfortable and luxurious, unlike the other classes.
The worst chairs in the class wereall-in-one desk chairs. I wanted to know who made those.
Just then, someone walked up to the empty podium.
Long, neat black hair, piercing eyes, and crimson red eyes.
A woman who commanded everyone’s attention with her mere appearance.
-Hello, I’m the vice president of the student council at the Seoul Hero Academy, Julie Rodman.
-The Student Council President, Mr. Ray Pendragon, was supposed to officiate the vacation ceremony, but due to personal reasons, I’m taking over. We apologize for the inconvenience.
She begins in a very calm, matter-of-fact tone.
She turned her head once to look at everyone and smiled brightly.
Hmm, somehow I think we just made eye contact.
She had a refreshing smile, as if she’s in a very good mood.
Well, it’s no wonder she’s in a good mood; she’s filling in for the president, who’s been repatriated on an emergency basis, so it’s not like I don’t understand.
After the basic greetings and introductions, the deans speech followed.
-Nice to meet you, our beloved and dear Seoul Hero Academy. This is Dean Heo Seok-gi.
As expected, a very boring speech.
He told us to be careful of water, beware of dungeons, beware of villains, take care of ourselves, and don’t forget our assignments during the vacation.
Of course, there was an incident in the middle where Jin-woo yawned and screamed when he was hit by a ballpoint pen sent through space magic.
“And with that, the Academy’s vacation ceremony comes to a close, and I wish you all a happy vacation.”
Julie’s words concluded the vacation ceremony.
One by one, the students stood up from their seats, and the auditorium creaked and shook in unison, filling with the sound of students cheering as if they had been waiting for it.
The loudest of them all was right in front of me.
Oh, its so loud! By the way, Eugene, arent we going on a trip somewhere?
“What? A trip?”
“Yes! A club trip! Since we had such a great first semester, I thought it would be fun to go on a trip together!”
Travel? A trip?
I thought it wouldn’t be bad to have one such event.
“A trip sounds great.”
“Wow!”
Se-ahs face lit up when she heard my answer.
“Then why don’t we call it a day and plan the details in our chat room?”
“Sure, let’s do that.”
“Yes!”
Call it a club trip, call the kids up, and have them train, right?
After all, that’s what club trips are supposed to be.
Vacation training special events get full training rate modifiers, so it’s an opportunity.
Then the people under our Familia are going too?”
Jin-woo questions the idea of a club trip.
“That’s impossible. How many people are in the clubs we’re protecting right now, and if they all go together, it’s almost like a large-scale troop transfer, isn’t it?”
Young-jae throws his hands up in the air, calling it ridiculous.
“There are mostly interns there, shouldn’t we just gather the regular members?”
“No, there’s no romance if there are too many people, so we’ll just go by ourselves!”
Thus, our travel plans were finalized.
“By the way, Eugene, you said you’re going to be traveling around during your vacation, right?”
“Huh? What, right?”
“So, do you have a specific place in mind? I’m guessing you’re going somewhere amazing.”
Se-ah asks with a twinkle in her eye.
“Somewhere in mind? Um.”
Places I’m going on vacation.
And if I had to name one place that comes to mind, it would be.
“I’m going to.”
* * *
A paradisiacal island of moderate breezes and warm sun.
A cool breeze tickles the surrounding grasses, making them lie down and the trees sway and a pair of birds fly over the meadow.
Beneath the pair of birds, who were flapping their wings vigorously, basking in the light of the sun in the sky, a blonde girl with a blue ribbon in her hair was walking slowly.
“Mmmmmmmmm~ Hmmmmmmmm~”
In her pure white hands, she holds a basket that looks like it was braided by herself.
Gingerly, the little girl touched the basket with her other hand to check the warmth of what was inside.
“It’s still warm. I should hurry.”
The girl’s steps begin to pick up speed.
Like the intangible winds rushing over the meadow, or as if she were one with them.
She runs with such lightness of motion that the basket in her hand only sways slightly.
Soon, a smile begins to tug at the corners of her mouth as she sees her destination in the distance.
It was a cottage, far from the city, but as peaceful and quiet as any.
The back of the house is a steep cliff, but this is the most precious part of the place to her, where she can look out the window and see the azure Mediterranean Sea.
As she nears the cottage, her steps slow down.
She begins to walk slowly, smoothing out her hair and clothes, which have become disheveled from her fast pace.
Finally standing in front of the wooden plank door, she checked her expression before stepping inside and smirked.
“Grandpa, I’m home!”
She said in a cheerful voice as she stepped inside.
Once inside, she set the basket on the table, smelling the ocean breeze tickling her nose, the smell of old wood, and the cozy odor emanating from the basket.
“I hope I’m not too late, I’m so sorry, I tried to come as soon as I could, but you know how mom makes me do all kinds of chores, not to mention laundry.”
The girl talked casually as she unpacked the basket.
“But, mom was in a better mood than usual because of you, and she packed a bunch of food, and it smells amazing already, doesn’t it? Because, as you know, my mom’s Alla Norma (pasta) is amazing.”
She lifts the lid of the basket and the aroma of a fragrant tomato-based sauce, freshly baked bread, and cooked meat wafts out.
“Oh, and I brought some Stigghiola, too. Grandpa’s a big fan of that again, isn’t he? I asked my mom for some.”
As she puts away the food from the basket, she suddenly realizes something is wrong.
“Grandpa?”
Her grandfather, who would normally come out smelling and smiling apologetically, was quiet.
The girl slowly approached her grandfather’s room.
She listened carefully, but didn’t hear any sounds or smells coming from inside.
“Ishere?”
The girl knew her grandfather well, having known him for many years.
Even the fact that he rarely left the house.
“Where the hell is he?”
At the same time, a worry began to sprout in the back of her mind.
If someone who rarely left the house was gone, it meant something bad had happened.
And then she sensed a disturbance outside.
-! .
That familiar laugh. It was her grandfather.
Instantly, the girl let out a sigh of relief and smiled brightly, even as a pang of worry washed over her.
After all, he had made her worry so she could repay him with a prank.
Still hiding by the door, she pressed herself against the wall, barely able to contain her laughter at the thought of surprising her grandfather.
The door opened with a hiss.
At the same time, the girl popped out of nowhere and lunged for the door.
“Whack!”
But
“?”
She realized that it wasn’t her grandfather she was waiting for, but a boy her own age, with jet-black hair and red eyes.
Jet-black hair, red eyes and a boy who looked at her like he didn’t know what was going on.
“who?”
The girl asks, still frozen in shock, before the boy opens his mouth.
“My name is Eugene Han Corleone, but.”
“Eh?”
Thump!
The name Corleone was enough to send her stiff body stumbling backwards.
