I Became A System - Chapter 223
‘This is too sweet! I’ve already reduced the remaining time to 35 days! With this, Ellena will be surely undefeatable!’
[You killed four Fingers of Greed! As a reward, the production time of [Self-healing Body Formation] will be reduced by 4 days.]
[Remaining time: 35 days]
Killing another four demons after killing three, his targets went down to a total of four. And as expected, one of those four is the Sin of Greed.
Greed, on the other hand, will be a tough opponent, and since he won’t have to worry about the safety of the people inside the city, he only needs to give Ellena the kill.
‘Ellena needs more experience.’
With it, he moved to the next Finger and killed it.
One after another, the only demon left is the Sin of Greed.
‘I hope Ellena enjoys the lesson. With her current strength, she could go against demons, but, of course, I will spectate the fight.’
Then he left his place, giggling, and went to the location where Ellena was.

“It was just like Cules’s report. There will be the next wave of monsters coming to the city.” Ellena mumbled as she touched the ground, feeling the vibration.
She looked at her subordinates and made them prepare for what was to happen next.
While Cules was just resting on her shoulder, he was also in a ready position.
Ellena approached Verxal and his party members.
“Verxal. The monsters will be coming in the next few minutes. Please inform everyone without making them panic.” Ellena said to him as soon as she arrived.
Verxal’s party members simply glanced at both of them with curious eyes. It was as if they were picking up on something, but what they were picking up on was incorrect.
“Do you think both of them are dating?” one asked.
“Yup! They must be dating!”
“Ssshhh… Don’t shout.”
Verxal nodded to Ellena’s worry and left her to inform everyone. He first got everyone’s attention.
“Everyone! I have an announcement to make.” Verxal first said that took everyone’s gaze.
“First, please be prepared at any moment since the monsters might attack us even now. But of course, I want everyone to stay calm. Can I entrust that to you?” he asked everyone who had a weapon in their grasp.
Everyone agreed with him, shouting in some high spirit.
“Good.”
And so, the fighters of the Murphey Family informed the normal citizens to stay calm while they spread the information that monsters might attack them at any moment.
Ellena was relieved just by seeing it. She sighed as a result. She was concerned about the people’s mental state because she was well aware of what fear was. And, as much as she wanted to protect them, she couldn’t allow them to suffer psychological damage.
‘Any moment, they will rampage.’ Ellena thought as she looked at the distance from the gates of the city.
It wasn’t surprising that monsters would come from the gate. The sidewalls of the city were made with double-layer cementation that couldn’t be easily trampled by monsters, even SSS-rank ones.
And just as they prepared in case of a stampede of monsters, they were just waiting at the gates as monsters would be led there.
Ellena sighed, and just a few seconds later, Aaron arrived with the news.
“There were demons around. I just took care of them after that, and only one demon was left alive.”
Ellena widened her eyes as she heard Aaron’s words. It was as if the information was a wrecking ball that could trample her confidence since demons are pretty dangerous to fight with.
She already knew it since she fought with a demon that also turned out to be a Finger of a Sin. And thinking about that there were plenty of them made her think that her power wasn’t enough.
But just when she remembered Aaron’s ability, she sighed.
‘Thank you for clearing up that problem. But why did you not kill the last one?’ Ellena asked.
Aaron just smiled with some sort of assertive personality.
“It’s because that demon is an incarnation of Sin. To be particular, Sin of Greed.”
Just hearing it made her tremble. But after looking at Aaron’s expression, it was as if he wasn’t scared.
“Why does it look like you’re confident?” Ellena hesitantly asked.
“Hm? It’s because you are going to fight that one, right? I am confident that you’ll learn another thing about demons. An incarnation of a Sin is special, so if he appears, I will inform you so that you can evacuate others.” Aaron said.
Ellena just sighed, surrendering to Aaron’s bizarre expression.
‘He can still smile despite the chaos.’
Boom!
Ellena suddenly cut off her thoughts as a loud thud reverberated through the city. Also, everyone was in a ready position, holding their weapons tightly.
“Move! To the gates and kill every monster!” Verxal shouted as he ordered everyone in the city.
She ran into the swarms of monsters, just as Ellena had done in the initial attack. Despite the fact that her initial attack was brief and she did not kill many monsters, she was confident that she could kill a large number of them now that she was no longer had to be concerned about the safety of the citizens.
Ellena conjured a huge fireball and threw it at a huge humanoid monster that appeared in front of them.
She called for her double swords and covered them with mana.
Everyone who saw it couldn’t help but be in awe.
‘The Dark Lightning Princess just stands by her name. Even using Sword Aura with ease, as if it was her rune, despite being a mage.’
‘Amazing…’
Everyone moved with teamwork; used different strategies to kill one. But just after they killed one, Ellena killed five more monsters.
Without resting, Ellena nonstop used the spell she knew and killed every monster in front of her.
The battlefield was covered with dust from the stumps of giant humanoid monsters. However, it wasn’t enough to bother Ellena as she put some mana on her eyes to protect them from the fine dust.
Ellena put her dual sword into her Inventory as she conjured Ice Spear.
She shot the Ice Spear into one giant’s eyes. As she hit it, the monster squirmed in pain.
Ellena just grinned as she took out her sword again and jumped to it with her sword raised, ready to thrust it.
“Grrraaaaahhh!!!”
Too much noise. Every monster was now shouting. Even if they were strong, there were people below them, swarming their big bodies.
Aaron ran to the backline of the monsters and launched a spell, killing each of them as soon as he realized they were taking too long. Greed noticed from afar that a spell appeared out of nowhere and struck his monsters.
“This isn’t right!” Sin of Greed grunted.
***
Aaron was smiling as he had already taken half of the monsters. And as he flew towards the skies, he noticed that, from a different direction, a human figure was dashing at a high speed.
‘It’s Sin of Greed! But how… his face makes me more scornful towards him.’ Aaron gritted his teeth as the face of the Sin of Greed was somewhat familiar to him.
‘That face…’
Just when Ellena was at the last monster of the half that her side was handling, she suddenly stopped as the last opponent of today’s battle was in front of her.
Her face suddenly turned sour as she saw the face of Sin of Greed.
Also, the Sin of Greed suddenly smiled as she saw Ellena killing the last monster.
“Oh… So the person that killed all my Fingers, as well as the pets, was you… the daughter of this body.” Sin of Greed said as he slowly reduced the speed of his movement.
Ellena was just silent as her eyes were full of disdaining expressions.
“You pretty much hate your father, don’t you?” Greed mockingly said.
“Ah…” Ellena didn’t have anything to say, and just when she was sure that she hadn’t missed it, she smiled.
Suddenly, Ellena’s legs were filled with mana, and just the next second, an abrupt explosion of force came from Ellena’s legs, dashing to Greed.
Greed widened his eyes as soon as Ellena appeared in front of him. He created a defense from some dark transparent energy covering his body just in case Ellena attacked.
Ellena didn’t attack; it was only for the purpose of taunting Greed, but it turns out that it didn’t work. As a result, she moved backward after it, then created a grass made of fire around her.
[Blazing Grass!]
When the event suddenly became confusing for the people behind, Verxal approached Ellena despite the heat of the fire.
“Don’t come. This person will be my opponent.” Ellena said to Verxal as he also tried to see who she was referring to.
His eyes widened when he saw a human before Ellena.
‘Human? Or demon? Does that mean that this wasn’t a normal event as we expected?’
Verxal just looked at Ellena’s determined face. And just as he understood what was behind Ellena’s expression, he nodded.
“Please be careful. I will tell everyone to back off, so do everything you can do.” Verxal rooted for her.
Ellena just nodded without moving her head, still looking intently at Greed.
‘This will be my redemption. I really hated my father, and right now I have a reason to beat him.’ Ellena thought that reached Aaron as it was a sentiment that was strong in her heart and mind.
‘I see… It was a good idea that I didn’t kill Sin of Greed.’
“Now kill him, Ellena,” Aaron mumbled with just behind his lips, he was smiling creepily.
