I Became A Thief Who Steals Overpowered Skills - Chapter 30:
“Brother, it’s all good now.”
Dejected as he was, Velokin clearly heard Krasue’s voice.
As if the erosion of the world had perceived the death of the boss, the rain slowly ceased, likewise the swamp began to shrink.
Soon after, sunlight broke through the clouds and illuminated Krasue’s face brightly.
His face was no longer that of a good-for-nothing. He had a radiant face of someone destined to reach the top.
In contrast to Krasue, Velokin’s face was obscured under his small shadow.
“Ha, Hahaha.”
Suddenly, a short laugh came out of his mouth as he rose to his feet.
His mind was filled with all kinds of thoughts. However, he had one thing clear.
Krasue had already surpassed him, so he would definitely become Valheim’s weakest direct descendant.
The moment Velokin realized it, he drew his sword.
Krasue had put all his strength into that attack to finish off the monster. Even Velokin was easily able to notice it. He was sure that Krasue must be exhausted.
“Die!”
Therefore, Velokin did not hesitate to pierce Krasue’s neck with his sword.
As he visualized the death of his younger brother, who was a threat to him, his battered face lit up with a twisted smile.
Clang!
However, what he sensed with his sword was not the cut across his younger brother’s throat, but the vibration produced by the clash of swords.
“He, Hehe.”
Just then, Velokin heard a derisive laugh.
As soon as his eyes turned belatedly to Krasue’s face, he looked at Velokin with a merciless smile.
“Velokin, thanks for not changing at all.”
Velokin didn’t understand those words, but he did notice a black energy emerging from Krasue’s body.
Surprised, Velokin hastily retracted his sword and attempted to use his skill.
“What?!”
However, no flames erupted around his sword. As Velokin’s single eye widened at the realization of that fact, Krasue sneered.
“Are you looking for this?”
Krasue’s sword burst into flames, fueled by the black energy.
Velokin immediately recognized that it was his skill, so he was startled,
“You, what the hell, what the hell did you do!”
As Velokin shouted in bewilderment, Krasue shook out his wet hair a little.
He then casually attacked Velokin with his sword.
Tchk!
Stunned by Krasue’s use of his skill, Velokin was unable to react to the unexpected attack. As a result, the sword pierced his chest.
Once Krasue withdrew his sword, he rolled across the swamp engulfed in black flames.
“Velokin, you know what? I always wanted to get along with my brothers.”
As he cried out in pain, Krasue trudged somewhere.
The place he headed to was none other than where the defeated ‘Thousand-Faced Monster’ was located.
“But no matter how hard I tried, you hated me terribly. All because of petty pride.”
Krasue then severed a finger from an arm that contained the monster’s curse. He impaled it with his sword and walked back.
“Still, I held out a small hope that you would change. I thought you would eventually accept me and protect me as your little brother.”
Despite the burning pain, Velokin could hear Krasue clearly.
“Thankfully.”
When Krasue finally arrived in front of Velokin, he looked at him with the same merciless smile as before.
“You didn’t choose that path.”
The moment Velokin opened his mouth, Krasue shoved the monster’s finger deep into his mouth with the sword.
“Cough! Cough…!”
Velokin coughed desperately as he felt the monster’s finger stuck in his throat. Meanwhile, Krasue just looked at him coldly.
Soon after, Velokin lost his other eye.
He noticed instantly, so he began to struggle even more. However, it was too late.
His nose and mouth had also disappeared.
“Hrrrk! Hrrrk!”
He could only make guttural sounds. Desperate for breath, he writhed in the swamp with his hands on his neck.
“It’s painful, right?”
As Krasue watched Velokin in that state, he spoke indifferently.
“When you burned my face, I too writhed in pain like you.”
The day his arm was burned by Velokin in his past life, his face was also burned. It had been burned so badly that Krasue was unable to open his eyes until a priestess healed him.
It could be said that he had now taken revenge for it.
Less than two minutes after he couldn’t breathe, Velokin didn’t move anymore.
Krasue exhaled slightly and looked up at the sky.
Now that the rain had stopped, there was a clear blue sky.
Unfortunately, even if the clouds lifted, his own heart would never be blue.
