I Became The Servant Who Received The Crown Prince’s Obsession - Chapter 9
Edith was embarrassed to see her gums exposed, but it was hard to shake them off.
She felt the man’s thumb rubbing her lips and moving slightly further in, but she couldn’t move.
“I… feel itchy, Adri.”
A babbled tone leaked out as his fingers pierced her lips.
Her lips twitched.
His finger just pressed gently, but she shuddered. The feeling of her skin touching him was exhilarating, hard to describe.
To be honest… it felt good. She thought she was crazy.
All of a sudden, the will to get rid of him was gone. What was the reason they shouldn’t be close? Other thoughts stopped when she felt the touch of her lips.
Adrian’s breathing could be heard unfiltered due to the distance.
“Haa….”
His sorrowful sigh tickled her cheek.
“I should have been more active. You know you shrugged for no reason, so I thought you hated me.”
She was reluctant because of the original story rather than disliked him, but she couldn’t explain it truthfully.
It was difficult to say that you were not living in reality but merely beings in a novel. She couldn’t speak at all as she looked into those pure and tender gazes.
That thought was the same when dealing with Clyde. Whether it was Clyde or Adrian, she was just a character in their story.
When Clyde rose from the flow of her unconscious, Edith’s mind flashed.
Just then, Adrian tilted her head. His lips, which seemed chewy when touched, opened up softly.
The moisture it held was sensational.
The dazzling beautiful face approached her with the colored lips she wanted to taste.
“I-I haven’t seen you in a long time–”
Her voice, which barely managed to come out at the right timing, trembled terribly.
She had to put a word on it. Edith gathered all her courage and pushed his sweet hand away.
“Is it too hasty to be… friends, Adri?”
It was the best she could do. She didn’t know how to decline without making Adrian feel uncomfortable. So the excuse that came up after squeezing her head was that they weren’t close.
Surely today was the first time they had a proper conversation.
She didn’t even know that Adrian was paying attention to her at the academy. She also didn’t even notice because he had been so careful about his failed approach.
Normally, they would have sat in the farthest chair and had a formal conversation. She tried to change the mood in line with such a situation without hurting Adrian’s heart.
Just at a distance before their lips touched, he whispered.
“Friends… I don’t like it.”
“What?”
“What kind of friends if we both grown up adult?”
Adrian managed to let her go with a look that was dripping with regret. However the hand which was caressing her didn’t go far and gently wrapped the back of her chair.
A passage from the original story came up when she saw Adrian like this.
He was not only a character who could be an Omega meeting an Alpha, but also as a man meeting a woman.
His eyes were so warm, and now she couldn’t pretend she didn’t know. Because he has been actively dashing them, expressing it through his action.
Still, if she thought about it differently, wouldn’t there be a lot of room left to settle the relationship? If he had really liked her, he wouldn’t have given up on it just after a few times. It was highly probable since Edith sent him a message that she wanted to meet, he opened up the emotions he had put aside.
She thought of his behavior, which often associated with Alpha male, and frowned.
“But Adri is an Omega. Isn’t it more comfortable to be a companion with Alpha?”
“I’m a man. I’m tall although I’m an Omega.”
He has a stubborn attitude. He was willing to do well with her.
“And I’m also strong.”
When he talked about strength, she could barely read the melodies whispering in her ear. It was completely different from the atmosphere in which a child was proud of his power.
According to Edith’s 19-rated mentality, strength means ‘that’ strength.
The strength you need at night.
It was the strength to sleep with a person, did beep– and beep–, and broke the bed.
She understood the shameful inner meaning. She knew all the way to the wildest things and lewd talk in her real world, but here she wasn’t the type to know about body intertwining.
She raised her slightly flushed face straight up, but she didn’t get very pushy, so her eyelids fluttered quickly.
“Um… okay.”
Adrian, who looked at her complexion, also had red ears.
She could notice it was a single word that challenged him despite his embarrassment. He must have been treated more often as an Omega than as a man, so these words probably wouldn’t commonly come up from him.
“I’m the opposite gender to you. That’s all you need to remember.”
Adrian, who almost rushes to her, didn’t match his delicate and beautiful appearance. She had to feel deep inside her bones that he was a man.
❋ ❋ ❋
During all three days of vacation, she just thought about the two men, which made her exhausted.
A transparent ring floated overhead, Clyde and Adrian circled the ring. One was an angel, and the other was a demon, but Clyde became a demon with a pointed tail once she looked closely.
The common point between them was that both were very handsome and were trying to break Edith’s peace.
When the unrivaled beauty Adrian flirted with her, truthfully she felt awfully good. She almost melted in her seat.
But if she has the heart to say yes to his confession.
‘Well… that’s a bit–’
He had been a world-renowned actor if it was in the real world. He would be a great performer to the point she had never seen anyone around who was not a fan of the actor.
As a matter of course, she dreamed of being involved with him while she was sleeping. He had similar dreams several times. This was like a conditional reflex if you were a fan.
After dreams, she also had a vain delusion. What if she really had a fate to date a world star?
It was not as good as it seemed. Considering all of your privacy would be exposed and every move would be revealed to the public. As a star lover, how many times would you have to receive swearing without doing anything wrong? It was like having hundreds of millions of mothers-in-law.
Many would cry out saying they would risk their lives and love him. Nevertheless, everyone pursues a different way, so Edith wanted a quiet life in reality. As a diehard fan of the actor, it was better to see the stars sparkle from afar.
‘That’s why superstar Adrian was eliminated.’
How about Clyde? He never flirted with Edith, but she imagined him as a candidate.
He would be the emperor. If a ridiculous development unfolded and Edith became the Empress, it would feel similar to the [tnote keyword=”the first lady”]Edith refer to the president’s wife in her past life.[/tnote].
She swore while putting a hand on her chest, never once was she envious of the first lady. There would be many protocols, and she would be unqualified just by imagining it. Moreover, this was a society ruled by the emperor, the empress had an enormous household needs to take care of.
‘Eliminated. Clyde was also eliminated no matter what.’
To put it bluntly, Clyde and Adrian’s probability as her husband was zero. Anyone should look for a mate since this world didn’t accept living alone without marriage, but at least she didn’t have an inclination with the two of them.
‘I don’t know if I love someone enough to overcome the negative background.’
That was unlikely to happen. Edith’s hope was still a salary thief.
She would work less and earn a lot, and even retire early to live a leisurely life. It was absolute!
❋ ❋ ❋
Back to work at the Crown Prince’s palace. Thanks to the fact that Edith’s job was confirmed as a service attendant, she passed through the various gates of the palace and went straight to Clyde’s bedroom. She worked in a special room next to the bedroom. Thinking back again, it was terrifying.
Clyde was nowhere to be seen. The other servant told Edith to change clothes and come to the shooting range.
“The shooting range? Why did His Highness go there?”
“Shooting is His Highness’ hobby.”
“A hobby?”
“He enjoys physical training and uses the training room almost every day. His Highness often says he misses his former days as a commander.”
Clyde had not been chosen as the Crown Prince since birth.
Initially, his older sister had been given succession right as the Crown Princess, and he had joined the army. His sister died in an unfortunate accident, and Clyde was granted the title of Crown Prince five years ago.
Certainly, it must have been frustrating for Clyde to be stuck in a palace after living a relatively free life. It seemed like a hobby that suited him pretty well if he had fun with his sword and shooting as an escape from everyday life.
Edith checked the clothes from the servant, It was a pair of horse riding pants and a suit, which at a glance looked several times more valuable than her clothes.
“Am I supposed to wear this?”
“This is what His Highness ordered. I shall get someone to attend Sir Ketzmorris.”
Delicate embroidery was engraved on the sleeves and collar, and sparkling jewels were also attached as points. It was hard to think of it as a garment given only to a new servant because it was so luxurious.
In a situation where Clyde, the party who had chosen her clothes, wasn’t there, it was difficult to ask anyone what they were doing. She meekly put on her clothes and followed him.
She had to leave the palace and enter the northern forest to go to the shooting range. Although it was a short distance, she felt unfamiliar with the feeling of riding a horse rather than a carriage. As they reached the open vacant lot, a pungent smell of gunpowder wafted out.
Clyde was pointing his gun at the target.
As she approached and slowed her horse’s speed, fire spewed from his loaded gun.
Taang!
Letters appeared in front of Edith’s eyes, along with gunshots that could pierce her ears.
[The blood purge went on for seven days and seven nights. Emperor Clyde, whose eyes were turned away, was nowhere to be seen.]
The cruel writing continued as if ridiculing the clear sky set as the background.
[Even if the palace and the city were turned into a sea of blood, it did not satisfy Clyde’s catastrophic mind state.]
[The emperor, the great soldier and the marksman were gone, remained only a madman who has lost his temper. He held his handgun. Afterward he pulled the trigger without hesitation toward his life-devoted servant.]
Taang–!
Edith was horrified by another gunshot sound.
Her shoulders trembled and shuddered.
Her hair on the nape stood up.
She was stiff as if Clyde in the original story had shot the bullet at her.
“Here you come, Sir Ketzmorris. His Highness is waiting for you.”
“Ouch!”
She showed a horrified look even at the servant who came to grab the horse’s reins.
“Ah, yes….”
She tried to calm down as she watched the words slowly disappear. Although the sound of a gunshot piercing her ears was terrifying, she reminded herself that the blood purge day was still far away.
