- Chapter 60 Unexpected Reunion
After a gruelling 8 hours of fighting in the arena, the end win-loss ratio was 50-50. In other words, we ain’t got jack shit.
“Can’t believe we stayed up all night.” Lili said, as we were greeted by a wave of fresh night air outside.
“Yeah.” I commented tiredly.
“Man I am tired. Its way pass my bed time.”
“When do you usually sleep?” I asked.
“Like at 10pm.”
“Seriously?” I asian eyes widened in disbelief.
“Yeah man, I am going home now.” Lili said with a yawn wide enough to hold 5 apple sauce jars.
“Alright, cya.” I waved.
“Night.” She waved without turning around and just like that she left the scene.
“Time for me to head home as well…” I stretched my arms and looked up, above the full moon smiled brightly upon me in whole.
Hmm…
***
“I am back?…” I said as slowly opened the back door of the mansion and cautiously stepped inside like a thief.
“Hi.” Hazuki greeted me with quiet silk smooth voice.
“Hey.” I greeted back.
“How did it go?” Hazuki pursed her lips like a rabbit.
“You mean the arena?”
“Yep.”
“Ah that,” I scratched my head as I took off my shoes and change into a slipper. “50-50.”
“Awww.” She made a sound.
“Yeah I need to become stronger. But…” I stopped there.
“What is it?” She looked at me with a curious eye.
“Its been 2 months now. And beside my demonic transformation I haven’t been making any sort of progress with my powers. If only Iu is here to help me…God, where is that useless demon when you need her?”
“Umm…Gid.” She replied with a low voice.
“What is it?”
“Master says she will be meeting you tonight.”
“Really?” Then where’s she’s been the whole time?” I said, staring right at her.
For a moment all was quiet, as Hazuki closed her eyes like the calm before the storm. And when the opened them again, her once warm amber eyes were now replaced with a pair of piercing blood red eyes.
“…” My jaw found its self unable to close.
“Its been a month since we last met servant.” Iu said with a heavy emphasis on the last word.
My gulp was so large, it looked as if I was trying to swallow a melon whole, but kind of got stuck half way.
This voice, this feel, it is no doubt Iu…
Seemingly enjoying my distress, the corner of Iu’s lips pointed up slightly:
“So who is this useless demon you are talking about?”
Q: How do you greet a old friend you haven’t seen in a while?
