I Bit Everyone and Became the Strongest Zombie Cultivator - Chapter 186
A fierce vortex of flame erupted in an instant, covering a considerably large amount of land as it climbed the mount. The rabid humans who were weak enough to be swatted like flies burned in an instant. The fiery column of wind burned everything in its path, leaving a trail of ashes in its wake.
I expected it to be powerful but this is just too much! At this rate, it’s going to be melting the ruins of the Tang Sect and none of my treasures would come out unscathed.
Meanwhile, in a desperate attempt to fight off the fire, Natalia started firing ice skills one after another. Due to the intensity of the fire, however, the ice just melted in mid-air and turned into vapor as it condensed. There was nothing she could do and the fire was approaching her at a decent speed.
Even with her life on the line, or should I say, her death on the line, she still stood between the fiery tornado and the ruins of the Tang Sect. She had all the time and leisure to step out of the way but something in her was telling her to protect the ruins of the Tang Sect. It seems like, out of all the rabid humans I’ve met in the past few weeks, Natalia is the most human out of all of them. Even with just her subconscious doing the bidding, she still had control over her bloodlust and rage. Her attacks were not only calculated but were also executed in an efficient manner. One would even think that they’re fighting an expert cultivator instead of a rabid human.
But at this rate, Natalia would die along with the massive horde!
Moments before Natalia would suffer at her death, I grabbed her by the hand and pulled her out of harm’s way. I also activated my Fiery Qi Core and Original Qi Core once more, making another vortex that would negate the first one.
A piercing whistle filled the atmosphere as both vortexes collided. At that moment, Natalia stared at me as if she didn’t know why I just saved her from a pickle. But a split second later, she grabbed me by the neck in an aggressive embrace, preparing to bite me in the neck as her way of greeting.
Blam!
Before she could once again sink her teeth on my neck, I pinned her to the ground, slamming her with such force that all the rabid humans who weren’t burned were sent flying away. A huge crater formed on the spot where I pinned her, causing cracks to appear on the ground and making the mountain experience a light quake.
Natalia’s mouth opened as if she was gasping for air. And then her eyes turned azure in color once again. The last time she did that, she managed to send me flying a few hundred meters and she was at a distance. If she were to do this now, I might even die from the pressure she’ll release.
I could feel her Qi Core activating at a terrifying degree. Before I knew it, I was already using my Qi Control on her, canceling her succeeding attack.
Since her cultivation level is almost the same as mine, controlling it was as difficult as attempting a crab to walk straight instead of sideways. Her Qi Core was too strong that even though Natalia only has her consciousness working for her, her Qi Core was still holding on for dear life as it tried to unshackle itself from my restraints.
But with my Berserk Mode still in effect, I overpowered her Qi Core with brute force. She screamed. This time, it wasn’t a scream of sheer dominance, it was a scream filled with excruciating pain and agony.
“This won’t take long, Natalia,” I whispered.
<You have activated the Skill: Zombie State Reversion>
<Notice: Activating this skill has multiple risks. Risks include permanent damage or permanent destruction of a Qi Core, draining a considerable amount of Qi Energy that might endanger your life if not taken care of quickly, and many more.>
<Do you still wish to proceed?>
<Yes/No>
“Yes,” I blurted out without a second thought. I’m well aware that if I pondered on it any further, I’ll just change my mind. After all, the Zombie State Reversion doesn’t guarantee that Natalia would revert back to a human. And adding to that, it doesn’t guarantee that I’ll come out of this unscathed. But even with all those risks on the table, I’m still not backing down. Right now, even if the odds are relatively small, I know and believe that I have the power to pull through.
Well, as long as my Qi Energy doesn’t go out of control.
“Yongrui, are you sure about this? This can kill you and it’s not even guaranteed that you’ll save her life. You have plenty of potential wives back in Tang Sect and you’ve got me and the System, why her?” Hui-ying asked out of concern.
“This is a good chance to use my new skill. What’s the point of gaining a skill if I can’t utilize it. Besides, wouldn’t you agree that this is the best time to do this? Or should I go for a weaker rabid human first before attempting this?”
“Just… sigh~ all right. System and I will do everything we can on our end so don’t push yourself too hard. With your skill, you can increase the chances of her and your survivability. Just… don’t kill yourself, Yongrui.” Hui-ying responded.
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t go that far. If this gets out of control, then I’ll be stopping right away. But right now, I have to try this out so I would be well-prepared in the future whenever an opportunity arises.”
<Ti-ring!>
<You have activated the Skill: Zombie State Reversion>
My mind was suddenly opened to the process of purifying a rabid human and reverting him or her back to being human. It was so instantaneous that I felt as if I received a deadly blow on the head. Ignoring the knowledge that creepily appeared in my head, I set to work by using two of my most reliable skills, or should I say three— Qi Control, Blood Control, Qi Energy Conversion.
Using three intricate skills all at once at such a crucial time may have been impossible but I had a prior experience when I was curing Wu Jia. That’s why I have the confidence that I could execute it the second time around. Without a moment’s hesitation, I set to work on regulating her Qi Core as I tried to figure out my next move.
One would expect that a rabid human would flail and screech at such a treatment but for some reason, there was no agitation coming from Natalia. She just lay down quietly on the ground as averted her eyes from me. Even though she’s technically unde— er I mean, infected, her expression made it seem like I was doing something rather nasty whereas I was genuinely trying to make her regain her former self.
And somehow, our position wasn’t really explaining things too well. From a third-person’s perspective, one would think that I’m doing something illegal since I got her pinned on the ground with both her hands on top of her head as she lay down with her lips shut tight.
I shook my head and closed my eyes. I know that I shouldn’t be imagining such immoral things right now but Natalia is not helping. Even with her undead look, she still looked prepossessing and pleasing to the eyes.
And why would a damned rabid human act all flustered and shy? What is going on?!
Suddenly, something inside me clicked and my thoughts were interrupted by something. My hands automatically moved as I directed my Qi Energy from my Core towards hers. It wasn’t the case of simply ‘directing’ my Qi Energy to her Qi Core but it’s as if I was transferring my Qi Core to her. It was an odd and ominous feeling. Odd because it’s like I was giving her an organ transplant, and ominous because I felt myself gradually getting weaker as the seconds ticked by.
And what’s worse, it’s my Original Qi Core that was draining away like a punctured blood bag.
I clenched my teeth as I continued on with the treatment. I know that if I were to stop now, I would just put Natalia and myself at a greater risk and it might end both of our lives. So, even though I felt myself slowly dying, I kept on with the treatment.
But just for security reasons, I risked separating a portion of my Original Qi Core from its main Qi Core. Hopefully, it won’t disappear just like the rest of my Original Qi Core. I know that if it were to fade away, my cultivation level would fall down to extreme levels as well. And resetting my cultivation level is the last thing in my mind right now. After all, I need every bit of power I can obtain before I get to the Middle Plane.
