I Bit Everyone and Became the Strongest Zombie Cultivator - Chapter 223
<Notice: the Flying Meatpiles have detected your presence. It’s best if you get out of here>
<Notice: they’re coming straight at us>
“Well, that’s very encouraging. Thank you so much for the heads up, System.” I gritted my teeth in mild frustration, trying to think up a way that would help me in my current situation. I mean, the Quetzalcoatl is on the verge of death, even if I were to leave now and save myself, I would still die since the Flying Meatpiles and with the Quetzalcoatl joining their ranks, they would most definitely hunt me down.
Whichever option I chose, I’d still die. And it’s not like I have enough time to decide. (If I used my Time Stretch right now, of course, I’ll have enough time to think, but no, I can’t afford to waste my Qi Energy right now. Remember, my priority is to heal this Quetzalcoatl and make him join my party or something. With that, I’d probably be able to defeat these Flying Meatpiles.
Screech!
Bleeeerghhh!
Shghfhshrhh!
I could hear the disgusting screeches of the Flying Meatpiles getting nearer and nearer as I desperately tried to cover my presence with yet another layer of Qi Energy that enveloped my whole body. Placing my hands on the Quetzalcoatl’s head, I set to work, disregarding the disgusting flying monstrosities coming right at me.
“Save myself? I don’t have time for that. If I were that cowardly, I might as well die right now.” I told myself, trying to muster my courage to stay.
“You have to get out of here right now, they’re coming. At this rate, I won’t be able to save you.” The Quetzalcoatl gently muttered.
“I told you to save your energy, don’t talk too much,” I worriedly told her.
<Qi Energy Conversion activated>
<Blood Control activated>
<Virus Control activated>
“Hui-ying, can you take over my skills and my cultivation? If you need any help, ask the System for help. I’ll focus on getting rid of the virus from this Quetzalcoatl’s body. I mean… if that’s okay with you… please?” I asked, realizing that what I’m asking right now is somewhat unreasonable. Now that I think about it, I’ve never asked Hui-ying to tamper with my cultivation… hopefully she says yes. I can’t focus on those two while trying to heal such a large mass of a Mythical Beast.
“All right, just please be safe. If those Flying Meatpiles catch wind of your location, please get out of here immediately, Yongrui.” Hui-ying responded without even thinking about it.
“Thanks, I owe you one!”
Without further ado, I focused my Qi Energy all over the Quetzalcoatl’s body. With the help of my Blood Control and Virus Control Skills, I steadily gathered the Virus that invaded her bloodstream and her mind. A few seconds ago, she was already on the verge of death, but right now, I can tell that her color was returning.
“Um, I… Yongrui, right? That’s your name?” The Quetzalcoatl asked out of the blue.
“Yes, how did you know”?
“I can somewhat read your mind, but not all of it. Only your thoughts that slipped out of your head are readable. It’s weird, are you a human, Yongrui?” She asked.
“Yes, I am, why do you ask? And also, what’s your name? Do you have a given name?” I asked as I continued getting rid of the virus over her brain. If worse comes to worst, I could use the same technique I used for Wu Jia back when her Qi Core exploded— you know, that technique that enables me to control the Qi Energy Flow of a certain person.
But I don’t think I’d be needing that. This Mythical Beast’s recovery is faster tha anything or anyone I’ve encountered.
“I, uh, I don’t have a name… my parents they, uh, they are in the Higher Plane and I haven’t met them.” She continued.
“What do you mean?”
“I… a lot of us Mythical Beasts have been driven out of the Higher Plane when evil humans conquered it. We were connected to the Tang Clan, but the Yan Clan annihilated everyone. My parents did all they can to save me, they had no choice but to throw me to the Middle Plane so I could escape.
“Wait, and so… aren’t you suppose to get a name right after birth? Why didn’t your parents give you a name? Are you only given a name after a few years or something?” I asked, utterly confused. Then I remembered that I told her to not speak too much and I retracted my questions. “Wait, don’t answer those, just take some rest for now. As I said, don’t expend too much of your energy.”
She nodded. “Hey, Yongrui… I know it is insolent of me to ask you this but… can you form a contract with me?” She asked.
“What for? As I said— ”
“But… that would reassure me a lot, and I promise I won’t talk anymore.” She interrupted before I could tell her off.
“Fine, but if you need to expend Qi Energy to form a contract, we’ll hold it off for now.” I smiled, trying to give her something to look forward to so she would be reassured even more. What a kid.
“Did you just call me a kid?!” The Quetzalcoatl almost screamed but it couldn’t. Instead, it hissed at me like the snake it resembled.
“N-n-no, I didn’t.” I vehemently denied as I vigorously shook my head.
Bleeeerghhh!
Shghfhshrhh!
Once again, the screeches coming from the Flying Meatpiles were a lot nearer now. I immediately searched my mind, trying to converse with Hui-ying. “Hui-ying, how’s my Qi Energy? Do I have enough? I did absorb a lot of the Virus by now, right?” I asked in a desperate manner.
“Yes, Yongrui, what do you need it for?”
“Right, thank you so much for your help, just sit tight, for now, Hui-ying. Hopefully, this works.” I grinned as I activated all of my Qi Cores. In a split second, I felt as if my body was on the verge of exploding but I managed to calm it down by breathing slowly and meditating on my Qi Cores, intricately controlling them down to their minute details.
From afar, I could see the Flying Meatpiles, charging at me. That outburst I caused with my Qi Energy was detected by them, I’m sure of it. However, I didn’t panic, I just sat there, focusing on the Quetzalcoatl as I continuously activated my Qi Cores.
When the Flying Meatpiles caught up to us, they immediately opened their jaws, going in for a bite to my head and the Quetzalcoatl’s.
“It’s all pointless, you know.” I almost laughed when I said it. “You can’t, just obediently wait while I heal Quetzalcoatl… then I’m coming for the two of you, disgusting piles of rotten meat.”
