I Bit Everyone and Became the Strongest Zombie Cultivator - Chapter 238
Jeralt, just like his younger brother Rutger, has this sense of pride, no, arrogance in him, making him seem like the most distasteful human I’ve ever seen. I mean, with looks like that, how could anyone have some sense of pride in him? Not that I’m pointing out his under-average looks… and even the term under-average is giving him more credit than he deserved.
“I think you got it all wrong, it was your younger brother who took care of me back there. If I weren’t more talented than him, I’d have been killed… but no, you won’t listen to that, right?” I asked, my patience running thin like a slab of ice on top of hot water. I don’t know what it is with other higher-leveled cultivators bullying those below them but this is the second time it had happened to me. If I had a Bronze Coin every time this situation happened to me, I’d have two Bronze Coins, which is not a lot, but it’s oddly surprising that I have two of them.
Needless to say, I fully understand why Jeralt came to me. Based on his expression, he was clearly looking for revenge. I mean, he doesn’t even realize that I’m stronger than I look. I’ve climbed way up to the Third Threshold in mere hours while his brother hasn’t even taken a step into the Second Threshold. And even though he was in the Sixth Threshold himself, it doesn’t mean that he’s stronger than me. After all, I’m hiding a huge percentage of my strength right now and he’s stupid enough to overlook it.
“Let the match do the talking then,” Jeralt smirked, stepping back as he released a huge portion of his Qi Energy. Quite frankly, it made me a little bit nervous since he was more powerful than I thought. As for me, I’m still not yet even in the Heavenly Realm so I wasn’t sure whether I could defeat him or not. I should also mention that he’s exponentially stronger than Rutger, his younger brother.
“The Black Spirit Tournament is tomorrow, wouldn’t it be better if you save your energy by then? I mean, there’s a good chance I’ll die in the tournament so why waste your breath on me?” I asked, although if he insisted, I’m totally ready to counterattack no matter how strong he was. If worse comes to worst, I’ll just use everything at my disposal in order to defeat him by a landslide.
“Hoh~ aren’t you confident. With your talent, there’s a good chance that you’ll win the Black Spirit Tournament and would be hurriedly granted a place in the inner court of the main building. I don’t care about that, I just need to put you down right here and now in order to stop you nonetheless.”
“I don’t want to fight.” This was the first time I said something so cowardly but the truth of the matter is, I can’t afford to waste a single speck of energy on anything else other than the Black Spirit Tournament tomorrow. Sigh~ what is wrong with these people?
Taking a deep breath, I prepared myself so I’d be able to receive his attacks at any time. As for Jeralt, he didn’t respond to my words. He also just prepared himself while smiling a victorious smile. He was getting rather overconfident in himself even though there’s a chance that I’ll win big time while he’s underestimating me. In any case, no matter what I told him, he would still go through with the fight. Too bad, there’s really nothing I could do about it.
Clenching his fists, Jeralt exuded an aura that almost made me choke. Compared to his under-average looks, his cultivation is fairly decent… well, not really. I only felt that way since his cultivation was higher than mine. But when it comes to fighting, I know that I have more control over my cultivation than him. The likes of Jeralt are the impatient type. Even if they were strong enough to best any opponent, they’re too overconfident in themselves that they wouldn’t even bother controlling their output. And in the end, they’d lose or die in the process.
<Berserk Skill Activated>
<Ferocity Activated>
<Rage Activated>
Since I started climbing up the Qi Energy Ladder, I had vowed to myself that I wouldn’t be using any of my skills no matter what. But seeing that Jeralt was not taking any chances in trying to kill me, I had no choice but to do so, otherwise, I’d die the moment his Qi Energy Pressure would hit me. He was simply that powerful since he was already in the Third Stage of the Heavenly Plain Realm. I didn’t want to risk it as well since I’m currently at the Third Threshold of the Qi Energy Ladder. If I were to lose my focus, I’d immediately get pushed out of here and land on the First Threshold once again. I couldn’t afford to lose my progress here since the Black Spirit Tournament is tomorrow. If I survive Jeralt’s current taunting, I know that I’ll have a greater chance of becoming a candidate for tomorrow… and then I’ll move on from there.
An overwhelming power once again surged from within me before Jeralt sprung into action. Two Dark Energy Balls propelled themselves towards me as Jeralt punched the air. These Dark Energy Balls were like swirling masses of Blackholes with how powerful they are but they were no match for me. With ease, I deflected them, making them land on a nearby plain and destroying it in an instant. Jeralt really was taking this so seriously. I wonder why he’s doing that? Did I really hurt his pride that much when I attacked his brother? I don’t know what he’s thinking.
Jeralt was oddly surprised that such a low-leveled cultivator was able to deflect his attack. And while he was in that trance-like state, I returned the favor by rushing towards him and punching him straight in the gut. He didn’t even see me since he was caught off-guard. One moment, he had his mouth open from shock, the next moment he was lying on the ground, wheezing.
I felt good about that attack just now. But just when I was about to celebrate, Jeralt immediately stood up and laughed hysterically.
Did he finally become crazy?
