I Can Claim Daily Rewards - Chapter 164: Captured
“What should we do with them?”
This was what Ken heard the moment he regained consciousness. He also noticed that he was bound and his limbs were tied. He pretended to be unconscious while listening to the conversation of the people who captured them. ‘Just what kind of person did the president offend this time?’ He thought to himself.
“Just keep an eye on them. The boss and the others will be here soon. Sir Conrad is still communicating with them.”
Ken felt perturbed when he heard this. He wanted to see what kind of person would dare to abduct the president.
“The boss is coming? It looks like he wants to deal with the president himself…”
“You call that guy a president? He is no different than trash!”
“True…”
‘They aren’t wrong. The president is…’ Ken sighed in his heart.
“Who are you guys?! Release me at once! I’ll pay you 1 million pesos if you untie these ropes!” It was the president’s voice. Ken was very familiar with this since he had been working as his bodyguard for over three years.
“Did you guys hear him? He said that he would give us a million. Hahaha! Do you even know how much our boss pays us annually? Normal bodyguards like us earn over a million pesos. You think you can buy us with money?”
Ken almost couldn’t believe what he heard. A bodyguard earning millions annually? That was absurd!
“Huh?! No! Wait! I can offer more! How about 5 million? I can give you guys that much. Release me and I’ll give you the money!” The president was shocked, but he increased his offer. This was a life and death matter so he didn’t care how much he had to pay.
“5 million you say? That’s indeed not a small number. Unfortunately, I don’t want to accept dirty money from garbage like you!” The man said.
Pa! .
Ken heard a violent slapping sound, but he didn’t make any move. He was still clinging to this hope that he could escape from their captors.
“Errghh! Sorry! Don’t hurt me!” The president begged pitifully.
“Pwe! What a spineless coward! I can’t believe I voted for you in the last presidential election! That’s the worst thing I did in my entire life!” The man shouted.
The president didn’t beg them anymore, but Ken could hear his sobs. He couldn’t hear the president’s wife. Either she was dead or she was still unconscious. He would know by opening his eyes, but Ken didn’t take the chance. He didn’t know if the enemies were observing him so it would be unwise to do that.
Suddenly, Ken heard the door opening. It was followed by a series of footsteps which sounded like five or more men entering the room.
“The boss is here! You guys stop dawdling!” A stern voice echoed inside the chamber.
From the sound of the footsteps and the echoes of their voices, Ken guessed that they were in an underground facility.
Soon, he heard their captors’ loud voice outside the chamber. “Greetings, boss!”
Ken’s heart rate sped up when he heard this.
“Who is that guy? Why did you bring him here?” A curious voice echoed. Ken believed that this came from the boss of their captors.
“Boss, he is the leader of the president’s security detail. I brought him here since he looks like an interesting fellow.” Ken was familiar with this voice since this was the voice of the man who attacked them earlier.
Ken heard someone walking towards him which made him feel even more nervous.
“Oh? Is it fun pretending to be unconscious?” A playful voice drifted into his ears, making him feel horrified.
Ken abruptly opened his eyes and stared at the person in front of him. It was a man with white skin and sharp facial features. He looked like a celebrity based on his looks alone, but there was also this dangerous aura within him. “Who are you?!” Ken observed the surroundings and searched for a possible escape route. He saw the president’s unconscious wife tied up on a chair beside him. After a quick look at the room, he didn’t find any other escape route other than the door.
“Are you looking for a path to escape?” The person in front of him chuckled in amusement.
‘Can this guy read minds? What the hell?!’ Ken stared at Arlan with a fearful look.
Arlan smiled at Ken before he shifted his gaze to the president. “If it isn’t our dear Mr. President…
President Maracas stared nervously at Arlan. After being slapped earlier, he no longer dared to speak carelessly. “Y-You are…?”
“How rude of me not to introduce myself to our dear president. I’m Arlan Dominic Roa, a simple businessman.” Arlan said as he sat on a chair. He then took out a cigarette and a soldier lit it up for him.
“M-Mr. Roa, may I ask what you want from me?” The president asked. He didn’t know who Arlan was, but his name was familiar to him.
Arlan blew smoke into the air and chuckled. “You think I need something from you?”
“T-Then why did y-you bring me here?” President Maracas’ face was covered in sweat. He couldn’t read the man in front of him and he didn’t know his objective.
Arlan stood up and walked towards the president. He then pressed the burning part of the cigarette into the president’s cheeks. “You see, Mr. President… I’ve had enough of your charade. The law couldn’t give you a fitting punishment so I will do it with my own hands.”
“Erggh!”
Ken’s bodyguard instincts kicked in when he saw this. “Stop! Although the president made a mistake! You should send him to the police! You will only be in jail if you do things like this!”
“H-He is right! I’m willing to confess my crimes!” The president added pitifully.
Arlan frowned and gave a signal to the soldiers.
“When the boss is speaking, you guys should shut up!” The soldiers punched Ken and the president until they were beaten black and blue.
