I Corrupted The Good Male Protagonist - Chapter 7
“I guess you have a companion.”
Despite my stubborn tone, Ash maintained a favorable attitude.
“Can I introduce you?”
No, I refuse.
But before I could even say that it out of my mouth, Ash beckoned someone.
“Come on, come here.”
At those words, a girl with brown hair approached quickly.
“Ash, why are you always going ahead of me?”
“This is Olga Floresense.”
Ash introduced her.
I managed to hold back a sigh.
“Just call me Anastasia.”
Olga greeted me with a friendly tone, a level of friendliness, for fear that she might be the main character.
“Nice to meet you, Anastasia. By the way, are you here alone?”
“My companion went to get help because there were injured people in the alley over there.”
Olga looked embarrassed as if something had come to mind at my explanation.
She glanced at Ash, and then she apologized to me in a guilty voice.
“I’m sorry. It’s because of us…….”
”I was caught in a dispute, and I couldn’t cope with it like a noble.”
I already knew that Ash’s personality was like that, so I didn’t respond much.
I just wanted them to disappear quickly.
“Aren’t you two going to raise a lantern?”
“Ash is not interested in that. I am worried about Anastasia…. “
Why is she so worried? I wasn’t sure if she saw my face properly.
I pressed my hat again and frowned.
“He’ll be here any minute.”
“Then we’ll wait with you until then. It may be dangerous to leave you here alone, and it’s also boring.”
Is there something on my forehead that says that she should worry about me?
Olga sat a little apart from Ash.
She looked at me with sparkling eyes.
“But I-Is Anastasia a noble by any chance? Well… Ash rarely talks to other people first. This is amazing.”
Ash Claude was the son of the Marquis, who looked at the common people like dogs. Olga seemed to have wondered because he was very blatant about discrimination.
Ash was smiling suspiciously. Did he see my face?
Although red hair was rare, silver hair was also quite rare, especially for commoners, as there was no precedent with this color, so if he was a person with a good eye, he’ll notice.
And perhaps, he was sure now since he saw Adele approaching us.
“Anastasia,”
Adele was sweating, perhaps because of running.
When Ash saw Adele, the smile on his face faded.
“So you’re Anastasia’s companion.”
“It’s been a long time.”
On the other hand, Adele greeted him without changing his expression.
The two were often compared. They were of the same age, and the fact that they are both the successor of the Duke and Marquis respectively was a plus, so they are always on the mouths of the nobles.
Of course, Ash was no match for Adele.
In personality, character, and talent, no one could surpass Adele. Even the marquis said that he wanted Adele. That’s probably why it’s only natural for Ash to hate Adele.
Ash scoffed.
“How irresponsible. There are quite a few people who are drunk here, you shouldn’t leave a poor young lady all by herself.”
As expected, Ash noticed that I was the daughter of Count Sinclair, who was terminally ill.
Well, Adele’s been hanging out with me lately, and there’s been a lot of rumors about me as well.
“It’s a big deal for you to worry about others.”
Adele briefly showed her sincerity, then turned to me.
“Anastasia, shall we go where you wanted to go now?”
“Huh? But…”
I turned my head
Your future lover Olga’s eyes are now wide open. Why aren’t you even looking at her?!
I was curious, but I pretended that I didn’t know anything about it.
“You two know each other?”
“I’m Ash Claude. I’ve met Lord Magnus a few times before
Only then did Ash introduce himself. If I hadn’t pointed it out, I wouldn’t have revealed himself. He’s too much.
“Do you still have any business here?”
Adele wondered as he looked at me, hesitating. Then Olga opened her mouth carefully.
“Uhm, excuse me, are you LordMagnus?”
“Yes, that’s right. “
Adele stared at the heroine belatedly. Olga’s face glowed red, creating a lovely atmosphere that matches her nickname, peach blossom.
“Oh my God, you are Lord Magnus! I have heard a lot about you. My parents told me that no one is as kind and noble as you. Besides, no one can match you in swordsmanship, and you also have magical abilities…”
“That’s right.”
Oh, something feels wrong.
Adele was completely unresponsive.
“Lord Magnus, can you sit down with me and have a chat?”
“I’m sorry. I have to focus on Anastasia.”
I kept my mouth shut.
Olga’s eyes widened as if she was not expecting that she would be rejected.
I was shocked as well. I was going to risk Adele leaving me for a trip.
Soon Olga stammered in a mountain birdlike voice.
“Uhm, what about tomorrow? We’re going to raise the sky lantern tomorrow, so if you have any plans to visit again…..”
“If Anastasia’s not coming, then I have no reason to come. If you don’t have anything more to say, then excuse us.”
Adele held my hand slightly.
I got up in the blink of an eye. As soon as I left the table, I heard Ash laughing.
“Oh, my Goddess faces me. But why is that more like Goddess?”
“Hey, goddess, it seems that you have lost your face. But how come you still look like a goddess?”
I felt strange. It wasn’t as good as it was, and it was just confusing.
Adele walked to the cotton candy store. He was holding me lightly, only enough for me to get out of it with a slight twist of my hand, but he took his breath from time to time.
It seems that he can still run out of breath even with that monster’s stamina, he must have run so fast.
I poked Adele at the back of his hand.
“Adele, isn’t she pretty?”
“I don’t know. “
“Aren’t you feeling something inside you? Like it’s fate? Or is your heart pounding?”
“The only time my heart pounds is when Anastasia plays tricks on me.”
I laughed dejectedly.
“I’m asking you seriously. You have a crush on Olga, right? You actually wanted to talk more, but you turned it down because you were shy, right?”
“I am not that sensitive to fall in love with someone at first sight.”
That said, I stopped.
“That’s ridiculous. Olga is really pretty!”
She’s the heroine! The love and obsession of all good-looking guys!
Adele looked at me softly.
“Anastasia is much more beautiful to me.”
“Huh?”
“And I don’t like to hang out with someone who has high expectations towards me and doesn’t know me very well. I used to tolerate it in the past, but I don’t want to do that anymore.”
Suddenly, I felt like I was hit on the back of my head.
I asked back in a much lower voice.
“You mean you were uncomfortable?”
“Anastasia, I am an ordinary person, too,”
Adele said with a smile.
I felt something new about the man beside me who’s walking at my pace.
In the original, he was a perfect munchkin.
His anguish was done only to ingratiate himself with the heroine, while others were cast aside as minor problems.
But what if Adele was having a hard time?
The novel was too focused on the romance that it never showed any of that. It’s just, he could have been hurt, too.
It was unclear whether Adele himself would feel the same way just because I was ideal for people.
Yeah, you’re a normal person, too.
I realized for the first time, but I grumbled deliberately.
” ….Fine.Let’s go get some cotton candy.”
“You’re going to throw the trash on the floor, aren’t you?”
Adele asked this question as if she was determined in advance.
I snorted.
“What are you talking about, you should throw the trash into the trash can.”
We bought cotton candy and picked it up one by one. I’ve been having a stomach ache since then.
Perhaps it was the cause of the bad smell of alcohol earlier, the more I ate cotton candy, the worse I felt.
I feel nauseous and the number of times I stumbled on my feet increased.
This is exactly how I feel before I vomit blood.
We’ve already lit the lantern, and the time has passed quite a bit, so I think it would be better to go back.
I pulled the hem of Adele’s clothes, but Adele was looking elsewhere.
A group of men walking across from us caught my sight. I don’t know how many times they rolled on the floor, but everyone was full of wounds.
They gave us fierce looks. They were looking at Adele to be exact. They were looking at him as if they were going to tear him apart. The smell of alcohol came in when the gap narrowed.
It was obvious that the people who were lying in the alley earlier. One of them pushed Adele’s counter-attack.
“Hey, I heard that you handed us over to the security forces.”
It was clear that they are the people who were lying in the alley earlier.
One of them pushed Adele.
“Who’s gonna do such useless kindness? Huh?”
They couldn’t even pronounce their words properly because their tongue was twisted, even so, they didn’t forget to swear.
“We’ve been fined because of you, you asshole!”
Then I suddenly felt dizzy. I stumbled and almost fell.
“Ugh.”
“Anastasia?”
I-I feel nauseous…
“Get out of my way, please!”
I could hear Adele above my head and the men gnashed their teeth.
“I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Pay the fine we paid. Then we’ll leave you alone.”
It seemed that they were so drunk that they could not recognize Adele. I heard that they were beaten by Ash too, right? They’re probably not on their right mind.
“If you don’t get the money out of the way, she’ll die.”
I felt like I was losing my strength. I struggled and lifted my head. The man groaned. People around me who passed by also got interested in this uproar.
“I-I’m fine. “
Adele didn’t believe me.
“I’ll give it to you. How much does it cost?”
“Ten gold.”
“No, come to think of it, it was thirty.”
What an eyesore. I looked up pitifully at the condescending men. Urp. I’m going to throw up.
Then a shivering voice pierced my ears.
“I’ll give you all the money I have, so please step back.”
I didn’t know that Adele could make a voice like that… I watched the situation with my mouth closed.
The man who was at the front finally realized that the atmosphere was unusual was somewhat subdued.
“O-okay. We’ll go.”
When the men were handed the money away, Adele carefully raised me up.
Yeah, I really don’t feel good.
“Oh, isn’t that the Lord?”
“Lord Magnus!”
“He’s the one who looks right at us, unlike the other aristocrats!”
In a flash, people surrounded us. I pressed my hat like a habit. Adele’s jaw hardened.
“My friend is very sick, so I have to go back at least for a moment. Make way for me.”
But no one listened to his entreaties.
