I Found a Husband When I Picked up the Male Lead - Chapter 8
“Grandpa?”
Raphelion widened his eyes and tilted his head.
“Yes, yes, call me Grandpa,” Baron Prosier said, smiling happily at the little boy.
The four were having a meal time together. Having adjusted to the new environment over the past two days, Lapel has lifted the boundaries he has set for the baron and the baroness. The baron’s wife, who had a similar atmosphere as Lizelle, played a significant role. They have long since been disarmed by a small, adorable child.
“Well, this kid. I think he looks like our Lizelle when she was younger.”1
Lizelle was surprised at the unexpected words of her mother.
What are you saying? We have different hair and eye color, I look completely different from Lapel, even though he was cute and lovely.
Is there another filter on my parents’ eyes? I look like you not Lapel.
She was very embarrassed at the reaction of her parents that exceeded expectations.
“You’re treating him like he’s your grandchild.”
“It seems like that. Oh! Our Lizelle was so small then. When did you grow up so much?”
As if he had recalled an old memory, Baron Prosier wiped away the tears on his eyes.
It was the first time he saw his daughter being nice to a young boy, so he felt restless. It was also a new fact to him that his daughter likes children.
She had always liked fancy and expensive items…
Somehow these days, feeling that his daughter is getting older, the baron couldn’t get rid of the nostalgia and loneliness he feels.
Lizelle opened his mouth in this absurdness, seeing the baron crying suddenly without end.1
“Oh my baby.”
Rosalie took out a handkerchief out of her side and wiped the baron’s tears away.
“I’m just grateful to see my daughter’s healthy growth. “
The baron wiped his tears hurriedly and stared at Lizelle with a sad expression.
Ever since she came here, Lizelle had been at a loss on how to respond to her father’s love, which was beyond his means. He was a baron who financed his daughter’s extravagant living by taking loans.
It was a long-standing misguided view of upbringing , but in the end, it was an act of affection for his beloved daughter. She was somewhat awkward about the Baron’s overflowing love.
It’s the first time since I was a child that I’ve ever been loved unconditionally.
It reminded her of her deceased parents, and her heart has become stiff.
“…”
“Are you sad, grandpa?”
While she was wondering, unable to answer, Lapel asked the baron with a deep stare. It was a face worried about whether the baron’s tears were due to sadness.
“These are tears of joy.”
“What’s that?”
“It’s the tears I shed because I’m so happy.”
The baron stroked Lapel’s head with a friendly smile.
“If you’re happy, you’ll cry and when you’re sad, you’ll cry too?”
(T/N: Oh good heavens. So adorable)
Lapel is five years old and is curious. He is at the age where he is very inquisitive and wonders about everything.
“If I’m too happy and sad, yes it happens.”
Baron answered the question without any signs of annoyance.
The appearance of Lapel asking a question while moving his lips reminded him of Lizelle as a child.
A filter of old memories was overlaid on the smiling Baron’s face.
“Let’s eat now.”
At Rosalie’s words, a friendly meal began.
When Lapel confirmed that everyone was eating, he took a spoonful.
His small hand eagerly pushed the carrots to the edge of the plate.
“Lapel.”
But there was no way he would not be noticed.
Noticing everything, Lizelle made a stern voice, and Lapel carried the carrots back into the soup.
“Hehehehe.” 4
And he didn’t forget to smile as if nothing had happened.
“Somehow you did the same thing when you didn’t eat carrots.”
“I did?”
Lizelle strongly denied that it couldn’t be done to Rosalie.
“Lizelle, you didn’t eat carrots and green peppers when you were young too.”
Honestly, like the original Werazel, she didn’t like bell peppers very much either but she still eats it.
I, as an adult, am picky too, but I really couldn’t help but persuade Lapel that he shouldn’t be picky right now.
While Lizelle, who got depressed and worried about Lapel who needs to eat well and heal quickly, is swirling her soup, Baron Prosier scooped all the carrots on Lapel’s plate and swallowed it with one bite.
Lapel looked at the baron with glistening eyes as if he had met a hero.
“Shh!”
The baron swallowed all the carrots and covered his mouth with his index finger extending towards the kid.
“Shh!”
Lapel laughed and followed the baron’s actions. The two now bonded over a secret behind Lizelle’s back.

From that day on, Lapel was completely taken by the baron.
“Grandpa!!!” 1
Lapel ran towards him, fluttering a piece of paper in his hand.
“Oh, you have to be careful or you’ll fall over.”
The baron hugged Lapel running towards him and smiled kindly.
“Grandpa, look!”
Lapel proudly opened the paper he held in his hand in front of him. It was a paper with a black pen scribbled randomly.
The paper is almost completely filled with wavy curves.
“Grandpa this is you, this is Lizelle, this is Lapel!”
Lapel said confidently, pointing to each line drawn on the paper. So the paper was not a graffiti, it was a picture.
A drawing of the Baron and Baroness, Lizelle and Lapel.
(T/N: the main reason I used Lapel instead of Raphael..jk)
“Grandpa is eating a cookie!”
It seemed to the Baron that Lapel just held the pen and swung it at random, but turns out there’s a story behind it.
The baron smiled and stroked Lapel’s head when he saw the scribble.
Even if it was an unrecognizable picture, it didn’t matter if he said something the baron couldn’t understand. Just sympathize with the child’s words and actions. Because what the child wanted was praise and a smile for him.
“Ohh I see, I’m happily sharing cookies. You drew it really well.”
“Hehehehe. Cookies!”
Lapel, who felt good at the baron’s words, moved his head from side to side with excitement. It showed that he was in a very good mood.
“Then shall we go for cookies?” “
“Yeah!”
When asked by a baron who exactly figured out the intentions of Lapel, he opened his twinkling eyes and raised his hands.
The Baron grabbed the cunning boy and headed straight to the kitchen.
The two had a very friendly atmosphere.
“Lapel.”
Meanwhile, Lizelle, who had just come down to the first floor to find Lapel, was looking around the house.
She was looking for him since he ran excitedly to show her father the picture he drew and didn’t come back.
“Lapel?”
Just in case, Lizelle went into the kitchen and stopped.
“Father.”
She narrowed her eyes when she found the two. Baron Prosier and Lapel widened their eyes when Lizelle suddenly entered the room. Both of them were chewing hard with their mouths open.2
“Don’t give him cookies before meals.”.
When Lizelle reprimanded them, the baron opened his mouth while quickly swallowed a cookie.
“This isn’t a cookie…”
“…You have crumbs on your mouth.”1
The Baron quietly wiped his mouth to remove the evidence.
It was during the day that the four people had tea time in the garden.
Lapel said that the cookies he ate at that time were very delicious, and from that day onwards he only looked for cookies instead of rice.
I promised Lapel that I would give him a cookie after every meal because he wasn’t eating right and is looking for cookies only.
But my father gave him the cookie jar!
“Because he seems to want to eat cookies too much.”
The baron became sullen by his daughter’s nagging and drooped his shoulders.
To other people’s eyes, the old baron was a father who was scolded by his own daughter.
“No, no. I meant-.”
Lizelle approached the two with a more relaxed expression.
Somehow, as the days passed, her father seemed to enjoy playing with Raphelion more and more. It was enough to understand and sympathize with Lapel’s words that no one else could understand. Again, her parents’ experience and years of raising their children could not be ignored.
“Lapel, you will not skip lunch just because you ate cookies.”
“Oh, heh heh heh.”
Lapel, who was hugged by Lezelle, smiled widely with a lot of crumbs around his mouth. He had already eaten a bunch of cookies to his satisfaction.
It was an absolute secret that he deliberately showed the baron a picture of him eating a cookie because he wanted to eat it.
