“She must’ve blended with the crowd, she may be one of the dead humans right now.”

Deus was currently flying while overseeing the situation in Miami. His mechanical arms were crossed with each other and his LED eyes flickered as he watched through the eyes of the Sentinels around him.

The Sentinels stopped in their killings and now were looking at every corpse to check for a women who had the same clothes as the Class-5. They were turning the corpses of women over and scanned their bodies.

The satellite that Deus made to spy on this place didn’t managed to capture an image on her face, it was only her body and clothes. The enhancing image function has already been used to determine her face but it was still too blurry.

Deus knew that she was a Class-5 because of how the other human treated her. It was like she was hope itself or something. The satellite couldn’t get another chance of capturing her image again because the girl would always stay inside Freedom Tower.

“She may have changed clothing, I mean I attacked six days after she and a bunch of super-humans came in. There’s bound to have differences on what she is wearing.”

He then continued in his mad search for the possibly deceased Class-5, but while doing so, he took a minute to observe Dennis’ and Atom’s fight.

Atom was clearly winning and Dennis was getting overwhelmed. Atom was faster and stronger, or overall more powerful than Dennis. In the start of the fight he was bound to lose.

Atom’s advantage of being a dual-skilled super-human was properly used, so his attacks were stronger and Dennis was slowly getting worn out.

Both of them were currently engaged in fierce combat. Dust and smoke was all over the place, and their surroundings were getting destroyed.

Dennis threw out a mighty punch and it landed on Atom’s face, but insteadd of flying away, Atom forcefully withstood the strike and he retaliated with a fist that carried nuclear energies.

Dennis was struck on the shoulders and he was sent flying towards hundreds of meters while crashing into multiple buildings until he finally stopped in the 14th one.

There he lied with his back supported by the debris, his police uniform were all tattered and blood can be seen everywhere on his body. His breathing was rough and his left eye were almost torn.

His eye wound was regenerating in a visible rate and the same can be said for his shoulders, which had a huge hole.

Deus was watching the scene but then, his LED eyes seem to widen.

“Who the??!!…”

Deus’ bioscans suddenly detected a lifeform behind him, it suddenly appeared like a ghost. He knew that it wasn’t Deviate that teleported near him, as he knew that Deviate was still wandering around in the area of Miami Dade College.

“The third Class-5 actually managed to get this close?! How!?” He decided to not think about it and his arms were now heating up.

The light in his LED eyes intensified as he did a mad turn around with his right arm glowing like a super heated metal.

He was going to chop of this super-human’s limbs!!

“WAIT!!”

Deus heard the loud voice as then he saw a frightened girl, and he stopped his arms for some reason.

The big glowing hand was only an inch away from her shoulder and it was just beside her head. The heat near her provided intense burning pain.

She wanted to back away from the robot, but her fear was greater. So she just stood there, trembling on the spot.

Deus retracted his arms as he thought, “She didn’t do a sneak attack?”

The girl didn’t emit the powerful aura of a Class-5 that’s about to attack. Instead she was scared shitless from his sudden outburst.

He decided to not hurt this rat but he will still have her captured. He then scoured for information in his super-human database.

“Strange, she doesn’t have any powers that can make her teleport or have an incredible stealth ability. Then how did she end up behind me with my bioscanners not detecting anything?”

Lily lowered her head, she was anxious about her situation and then she attempted to speak out, “Ummmm…mister, I…”

Deus was having his thoughts run wild and he spoke out in interruption, “You do not have an ability that can make you undetectable. So how did you suddenly appear behind me?”

Lily shivered when she heard his rough and robotic voice, “It’s really him!”

She lifted her head up but she did not meet his gaze. She opened her small mouth for a few seconds before replying with a nervous voice, “It’s because of this thing.”

Following her words she took out an oval white gadget and held it right in front of Deus. Deus harshly grabbed it from her hands, leaving her having a small wound on two of her fingers.

“Chameleon Type III.”

This was a peerless cloaking device originally developed by Atlas and was sold to the U.S military. Deus then glanced at Lily with suspicion, Lily felt this and she had her head lowered again.

“I’m pretty sure I control all the military facilities in this country. Such a device could only be stored in those bases, but how did she get these?”

Deus already had the upgraded versions of these devices. He was even making a machine that utilized the same but improved cloaking technology of the Chameleon Type III.

He considered the current device in front of him as old, but he was still impressed that it still made her undetectable by his primary body’s scanning systems. An old version can do such a thing, and now he had an idea of the capability of his new and improved Chameleon devices, as he hadn’t tested them yet.

Lily gathered all of her courage, she then spoke in a stuttering and nervous voice, “I know who you are. You are someone called Deus right?”

“Hmmmmm?!!?”

Deus was shocked at her words! His LED eyes opened widely and he his thoughts were in disarray, “How did she know?! Who is she?! Is she really a human!? I never announced my presence to the world! Is the ability of Ultra Mind so strong it can read the nonexistent minds of machines?!”

While he was having wild thoughts, Lily just exclaimed out loud.

“Please save my mother! I know you can do it! You have the things for it! I’ll do anything you ask of me! Just save her please!”

Lily begged with her eyes turning watery, she wanted to kneel down in the process but she didn’t because of fear. Her legs wouldn’t listen to her as she was too afraid of the machines reactions, yet she still had the courage to confront Deus directly and ask him of such things.

“Is that it? That’s the reason why you came to me? Why did you even think of approaching me in the first place? Have you seen what I’ve done?! You could’ve just asked your fellow humans for help!” Deus said inwardly and he sighed.

He then glanced at her with a complicated gaze, “I wanna know the story of this girl.” He then thought carefully of her uses to him.

She has the ability called ‘Ultra Mind’, which allowed her to read minds, look at their memories, brainwashing people, and a number of other abilities that is related in manipulating the human mind.

Furthermore he now knew the identity of her mother, her mother was a super-human with a bizzare ability. It may even be the reason why this girl knew of him.

“Fine, but from now on you and your mother will serve me for the rest of your lives.”

Lily hurriedly nodded her head, she didn’t say anything about Deus’ words as she just wanted to save her dying mother.

Deus then remembered of his activities earlier and he turned his attention on it.

While he was searching for this Class-5, he already had the machines stop on killing humans and he had them all captured, even the powerless ones.

He had new plans about what to do with the rest of humanity.

Originally he wanted to wipeout 90% of their total population and have the remaining 10% be in his control, though the majority of the 10% would be super-humans…..no, it would be all of them.

He decided to cancel out those plans and let maybe a higher number of humans live, including the powerless ones.

These change of plans were made by him while he was making the materials for his living body.

But what happened here turned into a slaughter with only a few remaining, because he knows that the humans in this area would resist him no matter what he would say to them.

This is because they have suffered the attacks of machines several times and the concept about machines being enemies has firmly rooted into their minds, especially the two Class-5s, they would immediately attack of they saw even one of his androids

So using Deus’ ‘kill those who resist’ mentality, he had to really do it to them to leave them no choice. And he had to subdue the three super-humans, not because of using them as experiments, but because he wanted them to be his pawns.

“I could create clones from the stored genetic codes of previous Class-5s, or even combine them to form a new gene and create a strong artificial human. But having new ones like them wouldn’t hurt. Plus it would slightly lessen my work load and hasten my plans.”

Now he wanted to get as many humans as he can and gather them in a single area depending on their country. He knew that there would only be a few million left so he had plans about the place in where the humans would stay in this new world.

He would create new cities soon, large cities that he will build in the capital cities in each countries, a city for humans and for his soon to be new world empire.

The city would be totally protected from the Earth’s new environment and everything would be provided for them, seeing if they were to be good and law abiding citizens. Deus would also give them jobs and not let them rely on machines too much.

The nuclear holocaust already wiped out 66% of humanity, and plenty of the ones that survived may have died because of the massive earthquake during the Great Shift. Furthermore, a deadly climate change came and it further killed many of the surviving humans and made the Earth’s environment too harsh for the remaining ones to survive.

He saw this as enough already and decided to ‘Save’ humanity, but it would be in his own terms.

He wanted to have absolute control over humanity to prevent them from doing anything to themselves that’ll cause their destruction. He would unite all humans in the world and rule over them.

“I’ll control their needs, wants, even their greed and many other things. As for my needs and wants…hehehe if I want something then I’ll take it.”

Deus would restrain the greed of humans, but not his own. He saw his desires as more important than humans, but he was still obliged on ‘taking care’ of the humans as he had plans for them.

Most of which were just about using them for his own gains, but nonetheless he would never let them go extinct.
