Deus willed it and two Sentinels approached the little girl. Lily’s head turned left and right as she saw the Sentinels flying beside her, she was a little uncomfortable.

She could not read Deus’ mind and the same was for the other Sentinels as they were machines. She didn’t know what Deus was thinking so that left her disturbed and anxious about her position.

Even though he agreed on her request, she was still uncomfortable being around someone she couldn’t read.

“Can he feel emotions?” Lily thought inwardly as she recalled what her mother told her.

‘A machine that gained free will. It decided our fate in less than a second. Its the reason for all of this.’

The nuclear holocaust and the machines killing everyone. He was the one responsible for all of those. Lily felt great fear when she thought of the innocents that died because of this machine.

“Well now, what are you waiting for? Go and lead me to your mother.” Deus said out loud.

Lily meekly obeyed and she began walking towards a certain building, the Sentinels landed beside her and started following like guards.

She saw the Sentinels doing this and she turned to Deus, who was just standing there.

She was wondering why and she asked out, “Sir, your not going to….?”

“Don’t worry, I’m everywhere. Let’s go now, I’m still pretty busy.”

The Sentinel beside her suddenly spoke with the same voice as him. She was not expecting that and she was spooked.

“Yes.”

She began walking again and she led them on the Victoria’s Shop just across the street from the American Airlines Arena.

“Those two were hiding there along. The Sentinels didn’t detect anything there earlier. The shop also crumbled after being exposed to the shockwaves of Atom’s fight. Hehehehe, they are really survivors huh, I also didn’t detect these mother and daughter pair earlier. They must have two of those cloaking devices.”

Lily and the two Sentinels entered the ruined shop. She hurriedly moved towards the counter and she went behind it. The Sentinels followed suit and there they saw the floor covered in bed sheets and human.

There was a woman lying there, she had tumors all over and her skin were disgustingly disfigured. Deus saw the woman through the Sentinel and he began analyzing her conditions.

“Skin cancer, and many other kinds of infections. I’m impressed she survived till now without proper treatment.”

All of these was because of the unsurpressed ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Skin Cancer and many other skin-related diseases would quickly develop if humans were exposed by it for too long without proper protection.

Furthermore, ultraviolet rays can weaken the immune system, reducing the body’s ability to defend against diseases. Such was the case for the poor woman.

“Sir, you can save my mother right?” Lily’s voice contained fear and worry.

She has been like this for five days, she could barely eat and drink so Lily had to feed her personally.

The other survivors tried to help but they couldn’t do anything, other than giving her shelter and providing food. Their were no super-humans among the survivors who had a healing ability, so they really couldn’t do much.

But then Deus came and stormed the settlement.

Lily already knew so much about him through her mother’s ability, but that was only about his origins and the purpose of some his activities, like upgrading technology and making new war-machines.

She didn’t know of the reasons about his other deeds, like suddenly turning all the weapons of humanity against them. Along with these was about his desires and his line of thinking.

But she did know the purpose of some of his activities, like why Deus would try not to kill too many espers and why he was bent on capturing so many of them.

Among of the many reasons she guessed, one of them was about Deus getting these captured espers under his control or have them work for him with an unquestionable loyalty.

After seeing Deus attack the human settlement with two powerful espers in his command, her guess was spot on.

She really felt sad about the others dying in the attack, but her mother was more important than anything, so she made her choice.

Her intelligence and her experience in the past twenty days matured her. Which led Lily to try risky methods, and deciding on approaching him and ask for help, with the condition of her working for him.

She even refered to him ‘someone’, as to not possibly offend him. She was a highly intelligent girl, so she would think a lot before acting her thoughts. In fact every super-human who have abilities that has something to do with the mind were extremely intelligent.

“Yes, but it will take time.”

Deus’ voice came through the Sentinel while the other one was carrying the disfigured woman. Lily was relieved and her worry about her mother disappeared.

“But, I’m going to serve this machine from now on.” Her worry about her mother was now replaced about their future. Their lives were already in his hands the moment she approached him, there was no going back.

She was about to work for a machine! Normally it would be the other way around, so this kind of situation was very bizzare. But little did she know that in the future, she would be a commander of millions.

“Anyway, everything here is almost done. We are leaving in the next couple of minutes so go to where my main body is.”

He already knew that Dennis was already defeated. This was because Deviate joined in on the fight and with her telekinetic abilities, Dennis’ struggle ended. She just merely used her telekinesis on him and now he was suspended in mid-air. He was still awake and he didn’t even bother on getting away, while Atom was still in good condition with only some parts of his battle suit being damaged.

All abilities of super-humans had weaknesses. Super Physique, no matter how strong one is with that ability, it still had a weakness, and that is telekinesis. Just a simple casting on the ability on them and lift them up in the air, then Super Physique users won’t be able to do anything after that. Even Class-2 Telekinesis users can do it, that is if the Super Physique user doesn’t weight that much.

While the group was walking out, Deus was busy scouring for information about the woman in the Sentinel’s arms.

This ability allowed a person to be able to extract data from the media and computer networks. This was the best ability to be able to know of Deus’ past and current activities, it was the perfect spying ability against him.

His commands was sent digitally through each and every machines he controls worldwide and the reason why he could remember everything he did perfectly was because of the data being stored digitally. He already guessed that these mother and daughter pair must’ve gotten one of his machines intact and Lilith used her ability to gain knowledge on who controlled these machines.

She was like an organic hacking device as her ability made her trace the main source of where the order of the machines came from and who was controlling them. Along with these information, was Lilith knowing everything that Deus did and every actions that Deus did in the present.

“I have some uses for you after I get you fixed.” He then began to figure out the quickest way to solve her problem.

“There’s an experimental Cellular Regeneration Pod back at Atlas Main Facility, but the treatment it provides is not appropriate for this woman.”

“She needs surgery first to get rid of the tumors, and her skin needs to be destroyed, at that time she would be subjected into the Cellular Regeneration Pod, for her body to be made to grow new cells and have a new skin.”

“Her diseases would be treated with various kinds of medications, which will take time to recover. In this end, she will still live.”
