- Chapter 20 Being A Nice Guy For Once
Atlas Main Facility, Seattle. U.S.A
In a large and spacious lobby. A huge sphere of blue light suddenly appeared out of nowhere, the light intensified for a micro-second before disappearing in a flash.
Hundreds of figures appeared in its stead. The Sentinels were hovering while the human captives were just standing on the ground. All of them may not be tied by something, but they were extremely submissive, as the machines can just kill them all on the spot.
Assault Gunner Droids that was waiting for their arrival, approached the captured humans and they began herding them like sheeps. They were lined up in a straight line and they were given long coats and other kinds of clothes for them to wear as the machines were going to lead them somewhere.
A Sentinel that was carrying a bizzare gun approached a woman, who was the first one in the line, and it grabbed her arm.
“AAHHH!!! NO PLEASE!! I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!!!”
The woman began screaming and struggling, she thinks that she was in trouble and she was gonna get killed for it. The others in the line saw this and they gasped in horror, they began to talk about what was happening and what did the woman do to get in trouble.
“Calm down, all of you calm down. The android won’t hurt you, it will just tag you. Don’t resist and just let it tag you. It won’t hurt trust me. You are all gonna be going to a safe place.”
A voice suddenly spoke inside the minds of the five hundred humans in the line, which made the people confused.
“A telepath?”
“Was that Lily?”
The humans was confused for a few seconds but eventually they calmed down. The woman in the first line now behaved herself, and the Sentinel tagged her arm with number imprint. The ink used in the imprint was special as it could never be removed.
“Sir, I can just control them and lead to wherever you wan…..”
“No need, they will not do anything funny, plus I have something to tell them.”
Lily tried to speak out her thoughts but Deus immediately interrupted her.
He had the machines lead the humans to the repaired hotels, apartments and condominiums of the city. Those buildings would serve as their temporary residences for years to come. There were a few of them that had diseases, so Deus had them separated from the healthy ones. He would take ‘care’ of them later, but for now he had to get the healthy ones to the shelter first.
While they were being led by the Sentinels and other machines, Deus decided to give some words for the captured humans, about the do’s and don’t’s in his territory. Through every machines that was capable of letting out sound, his voice came out.
“Well now, let me make things clear. Your all my people now, you are all lucky to have me as your new leader and protector.”
Deus flew above crowd, now all eyes were on him. Most had the look of fear and a very few seemed to let out an aura of defiance. Deus ignored all of their gazes and he looked down on all of them as he continued his speech,
“You have to know that there are others like you out there, under my protection and preservation.”
“Trust me, you’ll all have a good time here if you don’t do anything bad. You understand? Everything will be provided for your necessities in life, so all of you better behave.”
“You will all be the inhabitants in a new world. So for now you’ll all stay in the shelters for maybe 2 to 3 years. At that time the new city created for all of you will be partially complete, so yeah, enjoy your stay.”
Deus then flew away and just left them like that, which made the people confused. He knew that they would remember his words and they would be obedient people as they were all powerless. There were no super-humans among the 532 people in the line.
The super-humans were all taken to HERB Research Facility to be subjected into Stasis, Alexandra and Dennis was no exception
But Dennis’ treatment was a special one as he has the Super Physique. It would be hard to create holes on where the cables are supposed to go. So Deus had Lily invade Dennis’ mind and force him into a deep sleep.
“Looks like it’ll take time to make holes encassed with metal on your body.”
Atom may have the same power as Dennis but because he was an artificial human, the hole on the back of his neck and on the the back of his shoulders, and on many other parts were already made.
Deus treated the super-humans like this as he had plans for them. He had to preserve them in the best way. The Stasis Tanks was the best method because of the special liquid and it being the perfect place for a long hibernation, if he runs out of Stasis Tanks then he’ll just make new ones or have them stored in Cryogenic Storage Pods.
Stasis Tanks and Cryogenic Storage Pods has the same functions. Both of them are used in preservation of humans and animals in a suspended animation by slowing, while maintaining, their vital functions. This is for the purposes of preserving them and keeping them alive for periods of time ranging from decades or even centuries until they are needed.
But Stasis Tanks were different. While there is creature in a tank, a researcher can conduct limited experiments on them while Cryogenic Storage Pods didn’t have such a function.
Yes, Deus wanted to do some experiments on them but he also wanted preserve them perfectly. As he had plans on controlling them, he wanted to have a human army. A human army that would only be composed of super-humans.
The powerless ones will just be regular people and they will just work for the rest of their lives without fighting anything. Deus valued super-humans more as they were the more evolved ones.
“Building the new cities would take years. The super-humans would stay in deep hibernation in that time, and the powerless ones will just have to wait it out without being fully asleep.”
He gathered Construction Mechs and Engineer bots in Washington to begin building his own city. The machines gathered the necessary resources and they immediately began on constructing. Deus already had an entire schematic on how should the city look like and how big will it be.
He even had Deviate teleport some Sentinels for them to help in the construction. The Sentinels would make things faster because of their multi-purpose uses.
Deus knew that the progress of getting the humans a place to stay and having the unconscious super-humans in hibernation were going smooth so he decided to go back to Lab-95.
“Uh….Sir where am I suppose to stay?” Lily, spoke out nervously.
She was between Atom and Deviate, which were behind Deus.
“Your coming with me. You have a lot of stories to tell, and also, you will be doing some of the thing’s I’m supposed to do.”
Lily just bowed her head again and she just stood still. She doesn’t know what the machine was thinking so she was nervous of the things that he will order her to.
“Is he gonna make me go against other humans? No, he was gathering and leading the survivors to some buildings earlier. Is he perhaps planning on giving the humans outside a shelter? Does he want me to go to other settlements and control the people there?”
Lily was guessing inwardly about the things that Deus may tell her to do. She wanted to ask a lot of questions, but she was still fearful of this machine.
Her powers were completely useless against him and her mother were currently in his hands. If she even tried to go against him, he may kill her mother and have her captured and then tortured in his experiments.
Deus did a mental command and Deviate activated her ability. The bodies of four individuals was enveloped with blue light, and in the next moment they disappeared.
