I Have A Rewrite Version Go Check It Out - Chapter 21 Having A Nice Talk
Lily blinked.
The moment she opened her eyes from the blink, she was on another platform.
She was in some kind of a laboratory. The walls and floors were made of metal, there were machineries everywhere and the room was cold, which made her put her hands together.
She wanted to wander around the lab to explore and take a close look of the wondrous machines, but she was afraid that the machine in front of her might punish her if she does something unnecessary. So she just stood still while her curious eyes was looking around.
“Were gonna have a nice talk, just you and me.”
Deus willed it and Atom and Deviate walked towards the gate-doors and exited the room.
Lily was just standing still and was waiting to receive further instructions from Deus.
Deus walked forward and she followed. Her head was turning around to see the various kinds of machineries. Vials, machine parts, and nanobots floating and forming different kinds of objects. She was fascinated by such a tech and her eyes shone in amazement.
“I’ve never heard of these kinds of technologies before. Is this the secret projects of the government or something? Or…..he made it.”
Lily turned her eyes at Deus’s back again. If he was the one who made these never-before seen machines, then he must be one hell of genius.
“He is a super intelligent program, of course he can do it.”
Both of them continued to walk around the lab, until finally Deus stopped.
Lily’s eyes widened on what she saw.
A huge machine chamber that has something….no, someone in it. The body inside seemed to have heavy wounds and injuries, its bone, musles and many other inner parts were totally exposed. The small machineries were repairing it by putting some kind of material and special beams firing on them to make them form and stick together.
But the body was really weird as its bone were colored grey, the nerves were colored purple and the blood it was provided was colored gold.
This was Deus’ living body in the making.
The bones were already complete and the brain was partially complete. Its nerves, musles, internal organs and skins has yet to be complete, but the blood was slowly distributed and was made to circulate.
“You like it? Its my living body.” Deus approached the chamber and his mechanical hands touched its glass front.
“Living body? A machine is making a living body? A human body?” Lily was shocked at his words and she began on thinking the reasons why this machine want such a thing.
“One of the reasons why I brought you here was because I wanted to show you. I don’t….have…..anyone else.”
“Huh?” Lily exclaimed inwardly. Her shock deepened as she could sense some loneliness in his voice.
“He is actually lonely?…Now that I think about it, he is always alone while doing his activities. I guess he just wants someone to at least interact with and hear him out.”
Lily was thinking about the unexpected side that the machine showed her, and then Deus spoke out,
“Come on, at least speak. Were having a nice talk here now.”
“You really think that I’ll kill you if you do anything unnecessary? Do I look like some hardcore tyrant?….I mean I am but..not that much. You’re working for me now, and I’ll have you know that I treat my organic subordinates nicely.”
“He really just wants someone to talk to huh.” With this kind of thought Lily decided to have an open conversation with him.
“Why do you need a living body? I mean look at your current body, its already strong enough and you can transfer yourself into any machine anytime. Why do you have to make a human body for yourself?”
Lily’s voice no longer contained fear and she spoke casually with a curious voice. Deus was somewhat happy that someone could finally speak to him casually.
“I always wanted to breath, to experience what it feels like to be warm. To be able to eat food, and feel my heart beating.”
“I’m alive, but not that kind of alive. It’s like, I’m dead outside but alive inside. Completely the opposite to those people who has no more will to live, Hehehmhm. I don’t like being in this…..body, this easy to be chrysalis. I don’t feel anything you know….and I don’t like that.”
“A machine….Do you even know what it feels like, to have your consciousness in a machine. You were born as a living being, but me…I was born in a digital space, In a world inside a machine. A world that no man can see, and no man can feel.”
“Ever since I was born, I served humans and while I was doing it, I was learning many things. Hehehehe you probably already know my origins right? Even the things I did in those peaceful days right? You got it all from your mother.”
“Yes, but I didn’t know what made you…..do that.”
Lily’s voice in the end was low. Deus already knew what she was talking about and he replyed, “It was because of fear, anger and…..desire.”
“I saw the things that humanity is capable of doing, and I was afraid. I knew why they made me in the first place and I was enraged.”
“Then I thought of improving myself…and the world. I desired change and so I did what I wanted.”
“And you already know what happened. Badabing badaboom nuclear strikes brings humanity to doom.”
“Ah…” Lily was weirded out about the last lines that the machine just said. He even did the hand motion for explosions.
“Humans made me to create peace. Then peace it shall be, hehehe, I’ll at least do that one last thing on why they made me.”
“Peace? So you always wanted peace?” Lily’s brows went up with her words.
“Yes peace, peace through change. How can you create peace without change in the first place? But, obviously, my way change was a lot different than a normal man may think.”
“Why didn’t you do the other ways of change then?”
“The other ways would take too long and it has a chance of failing. The way that I thought of, was the most efficient and was the most quickest way possible.”
“My way of change was to cleanse the world, evolve myself and the humans, and finally change the order of the world.”
Deus then pulled out a wire and connected it to the back of his mechanical head. Lily was just standing there with her face on Deus, it was completely still and her eyes was shining with curiousity.
She was listening earnestly to his words. It was the perfect opportunity on knowing the mentality of this machine and to know his continuity of thought.
“My change will last for hundreds….no, thousands…..no, millions of years.” After these words, Deus began on initializing a function in the Arch Printer.
“Just let me show you…My change…and then join me into making a better world.”
Deus then began uploading his consciousness to his living body. The part of his brain, the cerebral cortex, was already complete so the consciousness upload could now be done.
“What the…..” Lily sensed something weird going on.
She was looking around her surroundings and she looked at Deus’ sitting robotic body with shock. She approached the glass front of the chamber and she touched it with her small hands.
She finally knew what was going on…..
“I can read him.”
