I have Nine Lives - Chapter 144
Felix didn’t know what to say as he took in everything that was surrounding him. It was quite breathtaking.
He wasn’t really impressed with the tall buildings, but what was beyond them, he was never so close to the stars before, and this was the first time he could enjoy their resplendent light this closely.
“Enjoying the sights, little Felix?”
Vangar asked with an amused tone as he could see that Felix was captivated by the starlight.
“This is the first time I have seen the stars so closely… I always wondered what they looked like, but it seems they are just light.”
Vangar shook his head as he said:
“We are still very far away from those stars, they aren’t only bodies of light, but there is a chance there are also civilizations on those stars we see!”
Vangar looked at Felix and waited for his reaction.
Felix nodded and asked:
“Just like ours?”
“Not really.”
“Some are more advanced, some less, and we are currently ranking in the middle and expanding.”
“Yes, I have heard about those expansion attempts. That’s also the sole reason I’m here…”
*Cough* Vangar felt a little bit awkward as Felix told him directly that they fucked up.
“Well, since you are already here, you should make yourself comfortable before we start the lessons. there won’t be much to do considering we are the only ones here.”
Felix was puzzled. Why were they the only people here?
“You wonder why we are alone? Well, If I’m honest with you, I can only say that you are the only person on the planet that deserves to be taught here.”
“Hmm? Why?”
Felix wasn’t sure why he was the only one here. After all, he had fought quite a lot of people on the planet below. And he knew that some of them had quite a good potential.
“You see, our criteria is quite strict. There are so many points that need to be filled on it so we can actually go ahead and recruit someone that no one from our planet can fill it, not even our offsprings can fill it normally.”
Humans were one of the most advanced races on their planet, and Vangar mentioning that not even their children could fill their criteria showed that its strictness was off the charts.
“So, what’s my first lesson?”
After they got every explanation out of the way and things were now clear, it was time for some training.
“You already know all of the other breathing techniques, and everything you are lacking is the agility breathing technique.”
“So I’m going to teach it to you first.”
“The agility breathing technique isn’t that different from the others ones-the only difference being that you focus on different muscle parts if you would compare it with the strength breathing technique.”
Vangar started to impart the breathing technique to Felix through normal teaching instead of any high-tech Wizz or any special hex-filled scroll.
It didn’t take any time for Felix to memorize the technique as his soul had already reached a high plateau.
After he had completed both the intelligence and wisdom breathing techniques, he had gained photographic memory along with some other improvements to his soul technique and his soul stamina.
He had memorized the technique perfectly as he went ahead to employ it. Easily making the surrounding energy gather towards him at quick speeds, the suction force was so strong that the usually invisible energy started to appear in the air.
Felix could feel that the energy in this area was different from the one back on the planet.
Its quality was way higher compared to the one on their planet.
The quantity was lacking, though. After a few breaths, Felix could already feel that the energy-filled atmosphere was starting to dry at a quick speed.
After more time passed, Felix had to stop because there was no more energy to absorb in the surroundings.
Vangar felt awkward as he looked at Felix as if he saw a monster:
“It seems your absorption ability is beyond our guesses…”
Vangar, along with some scientists, had analyzed Felix’s habits and previous battle statistics to create a perfect environment for him to improve himself.
They knew that one day he would come to them. And they needed a good spot to train him in.
They created this academy in hopes= that Felix wouldn’t be the only one that had such good potential on their planet with his data in mind.
Unfortunately, one year passed, and they still didn’t find someone as talented as Felix, and they were constantly getting pressured by outside interventions.
The situation wasn’t as good as it was on the surface. The invaders were constantly pushing them back to their home planet location. Trying to root them out from the core.
They needed a special weapon, one that would let them wreak havoc on the battlefield, someone who had more lives, but also the immense potential- that would let him have enough strength. To actually do something against their overpowered enemies.
The humans never thought that they would reach such hard times. That they had to rely on a single person for the future of their civilization.
“Well, it seems we will have to tap into the reserves that we have prepared for the future students, but we need you to fully reach the 9th stage of the agility breathing technique before I can teach you how to break through to the green aura level.”
Vangar pushed his foot through the soil below them as a tremor hit the whole place.
Suddenly, the dry air started to get filled with that high-level energy again, and Felix could continue his absorption now.
Vangar watched him from the side as he nodded contended, with Felix’s improvement speed. Felix could quickly improve himself as long as he got a good energy source that he could absorb from, and now that he had gotten his paws on this high-quality energy that was better than the hex energy from the surface of the planet, his improvements were almost double than what he had gotten in that one year of training. And not even 2 hours had passed since he started!
As Felix breathed in and out, his leg muscles started to get tattoo-like inscriptions of white color around them.
This showed that he had already completed the first phase of the technique, and now all he had to do was develop and refine them.
The inscriptions were akin to snakes and rabbits as they encircled Felix’s muscles, trying to squeeze all of the potential out of them while also laying down the foundations for further improvements.
Felix could feel the inscriptions taking shape into the form of feathery wings on different parts of his muscles.
After the inscription condensed on his muscles, his ability to absorb the surrounding energy ballooned once more.
The energy-filled air started to dry out again, but this time there was no reserve to help Felix continue.
In the end, he finished the whole energy reserve until nothing remained in the planetary orbit academy.
But after he finished all of the energy, he did end up reaching the 9th stage of refinement of the white aura level.
And now that he had finally finished completing all of the breathing techniques to the 9th stage at the white level, he was finally ready to break through to the green level!
Vangar clapped and said:
“That was very good. Your absorption and improvement ability is off the charts.”
“Now that you have reached the 9th level in all of the breathing techniques, I can finally teach you how to break through to the green aura level.”
“First, you need to combine all of the inscriptions you have got all over your body and fuse them.”
“Ok, I think I got it.”
Felix closed his eyes and did as instructed.
The fusion between the inscriptions didn’t take as much time as he thought. The inscriptions were already filled with energy to the brim, so they needed an outlet to continue evolving.
The breakthrough to the green aura level was exactly what they needed and what they got.
The inscriptions fused into a massive neural link that was akin to a second brain, giving Felix a new feeling that made his whole body jittery and strange.
His aura started to slowly morph from white to green as his body underwent an evolution again.
The power of his whole body was skyrocketing under the qualitative evolution of his aura finally, reaching a level that he had never thought he would reach before.
The power of his body continued to increase until it reached a plateau then his closed eyes opened up as he looked around.
He was still in the same place as before, but something was different he felt taller, way taller than he was before.
He almost lost his balance as he looked down at his body and realized that something wasn’t right.
Where was his orange fur? Where were his cute stripes?
Because when he looked down, he only saw pale skin that didn’t resemble anything that his body ever had before.
He didn’t recognize the skin nor the owner as suddenly a pale hand brought itself to the chest he was looking at, and Felix realized something. It was his own chest…
