I have Nine Lives - Chapter 159
Even though the news was important, Vangar didn’t look to be angered nor worried about their leaked intel.
“It seems someone from the intelligence department had decided to give us a surprise.”
Vangar was almost chuckling as he said that. It seemed the leaked intel wasn’t something bad?
“We have already interrogated the duo with our best torture specialists, and we found out everything.”
“It seems that one of our intelligence captains had leaked out some intel so these two can be captured, he threw out the bait, and these two had bitten it.”
“You don’t have to worry cause they will be sent back so you can chew on them. We will make them less springy for you so you can improve your regenerative abilities even more.”
Vangar’s connection cut off.
Felix wasn’t sure why Vangar insisted on him getting higher regenerative abilities. They knew he was God’s chosen, and he had multiple lives. Of course, getting him regenerative abilities would make killing him so annoying that no one would be able to.
Were the invaders so troublesome that he had to combine two annoying things and become the ultimate cockroach?
Felix stopped thinking about it as Willie’s body started shining and attracted his attention as he took a good look at him for the first time.
Willie had pale white skin, and he stood at an average height of 1,72 meters. He was completely naked, but from the lack of genitalia, he didn’t seem to have any gender. His pure orange hair was long, reaching his shoulders.
His features were unclear. But soon after, they appeared in Felix’s eyes.
He had baby blue oval eyes, thin lips, and a small nose. His chin was well defined, and his body was thin but packed with a little bit of muscle.
He shook his head as he became awake and looked around before glancing at Felix and giving a soft smile that showed his sharp and pure white teeth.
His teeth looked almost as if they were from a shark.
“I have done it, Felix… I have finally gained a body, and it’s all thanks to you!”
The former wisp was really happy as he ran towards Felix and gave him a big hug. It was obvious he was very grateful for what Felix did to him.
And he also understood that he protected him during his metamorphosis. From the damaged area to the bits and pieces of blood and skin thrown around. He could infer what happened.
Felix got himself out of Willie’s hug and shook his head as he said:
“Well, that was my job. The contract is finally fulfilled on my part, and now you are my servant.”
Willie gave out a small salute as Felix asked him:
“So what abilities have you gotten after you evolved?”
Willie scratched his chin and thought for a little while before he put his hand forward. Creating a small ball of energy.
Then he threw the ball of energy directly to Felix. Who didn’t dodge it and let it collide with him?
Felix’s body was enshrouded in pure white light as he felt his stagnant breathing technique working by itself, filling his organs and advancing towards the second stage of the green aura state.
Now that they all fused, he only had to feed his heart with energy as it would diffuse to his other organs by itself.
It would take more energy than normal. But it would also cut the time it needed to train the techniques if the energy was gathered.
Felix could feel that one little ball of energy almost got him to the second stage of the green aura state, which was extremely impressive, he wasn’t sure how Willie got so much energy in him, but it was something rather impressive.
Felix asked him:
“How many of those balls can you conjure?”
But Willie didn’t respond to him for a short time as he gathered his breath. His white face paled even further as his circulation slowed down.
“I’m not sure… maybe one a few months?”
It was rather slow, but the improvement was marginal in Felix’s breathing technique, so it wasn’t a really bad trade-off.
“Well, that’s good enough. Anything else you can do?”
Willie shook his head:
“I don’t think I can do anything else for now.”
Felix nodded as he contacted Vangar through the armor:
“Can you teleport my pal Willie here somewhere safe back on our planet?”
Vangar nodded, and Willie started to disappear into a bunch of multicolored light just as Vangar had done before.
After Willie vanished as if he was never there.
Felix did the same, but unlike Willie, he only entered his stealth mode, and he didn’t teleport.
It was finally time for him to find the other preys and get all of the extra evolutions and abilities.
Felix slowly made his way through the jungle as he expanded his senses to their fullest potential.
He could sense every living being on the planet, be them locals or the prey that the federation had thrown on this planet so he could hunt them.
Felix had already pinned down two weaker auras that he could hunt, they were 200 kilometers away from his current location, and he would be able to arrive there in a few tens of minutes if he rushed.
Felix could feel his blood flow quicken as he made his way towards those two preys, his inner hunter had awakened, and it was ready to unleash the hidden beast in Felix’s blood.
As an animal, no matter how much he evolved, he would never lose his roots unless a very long time passed away, washing down his instincts.
Felix’s body agilely traveled through the foliage of the trees as he bypassed the jungle to arrive at a clear river where nothing could be seen in sight, at least in the normal one.
Things changed as Felix concentrated, and his senses retracted back to his surroundings instead of being expanded on the whole planet.
He knew that the prey here must have hidden as they sensed his energy disappearing for good.
They knew that he was on the hunt for them.
However, it didn’t help them much that they knew. They couldn’t hide from Felix’s developed senses no matter what they did or how they did it.
Felix could sense their location after he concentrated his senses on a smaller area. They had dug into the ground and created a cave where they hid, scent and all.
However, no matter how good they hid, their bodies were still releasing energy unconsciously as no one had perfect control over their energy unless their bodies were specifically made that way.
That tiny amount of energy that they were releasing was what doomed them. Practically their existence was sealed the moment they were brought here.
Felix jumped down the hidden entrance that they created, which they concealed using shrubs and leaves.
He continued down a narrow tunnel as he made his way directly to the cave the duo created.
But things weren’t as easy as he thought them to be. The moment he stepped into the cave, the entrance was immediately sealed up by a big boulder, and spikes attacked him from all directions.
There were no signs of the duo even though their energy signatures were nearby.
Felix had fallen right into a trap! Or did he?
All of the spikes that were launched at him were easily deflected by his armor, they didn’t even get to pierce into it nor touch his fur, and even if they did, his hardened fur wouldn’t have let them reach his skin anyways.
The attempt on his life didn’t faze him at all. It was as if he expected something like this would happen.
He didn’t remain idle as he dismantled all of the traps in the cave and looked around.
He smelled the air and used his ears to hear everything that was around him, even the smallest changes in the cave.
Felix knew that there was no way his senses were wrong. They were here and they were hiding. He wanted to find out where.
He was slowly smelling them out as his eyes darted from place to place, in a small corner. Further deep into the cave, where another hole has been created and covered with gravel, the duo was observing everything that was happening.
They had covered the whole cave with their energy signatures, so Felix would have a hard time finding them and they hid in an inconspicuous corner, and they hoped that Felix would get bored of searching and leave.
They would have been trembling in their boots if they didn’t fear that would attract Felix’s attention to their location.
However, no matter how well they controlled their emotions… Felix could find them, and he did.
He slowly slithered at the top of the cave’s ceiling as he looked from above. Slowly making his way to the corner they were hiding in.
He had sensed the highest aura concentration there and decided to investigate.
He slowly made his way down from the ceiling while in stealth. He didn’t find anything strange around, just a little mound of rocks and gravel, which looked eerily suspicious.
Felix smiled to himself. They did a great job hiding, but in the end, they were still going into his tummy, for the greater good, of course.
