I have Nine Lives - Chapter 170
Felix had a prideful feeling as he looked at Jack and Lindo sparring. He felt rather glad his emotions came back.
He felt empty when he had his emotions sealed, but now he felt as if his life was fulfilled, at least a part of his life was.
The fight between Lindo and Jack was quite ‘intense’ Jack attacked with all he got as he punched. He had improved his stance while he fought, and his proficiency increased the more he tried to hit Lindo. However, no matter how much of a genius he was, he couldn’t even touch the corner of Lindo’s clothes.
Felix could see that the little tyke was very talented in fighting.
His body was also quite abnormal.
As it had more strength than teenagers who were around 17-18 years old.
Even Felix, with his special ability, wouldn’t have been his match back when he was fighting with the black bears, strength-wise speaking.
Even though the boy was strong, he was very slow, and he had no technique, but those were things that experience would fix.
Felix continued to watch for a few more minutes before he said:
“Timeout. Jack, you should rest a bit so I can teach you a little as well, I don’t have much time left, and I have to go back where I came from.”
Jack tilted his head to the side as Lindo stopped as well and asked:
“Where do you have to go?”
Felix shook his head as he said:
“You can’t know that, at least for now.”
Being a smart child, Jack didn’t continue to prod in. He realized that pushing the question wouldn’t get him any answers.
Lindo knew about Felix’s situation, so he didn’t ask at all as he nodded at him. His grandfather had already told him the gist of it, and he knew Felix was working with the humans for the better of the planet.
Felix got up from his cross-legged position and jumped directly near Jack after he finished resting.
He entered his own stance as he put his left foot in front of his right one, then his left arm over his head, hooking his fingers, and after that, he put his right arm behind him as he said:
“Attack me with all you got.”
Felix had severely handicapped himself with this stance so he wouldn’t hurt Jack by accident.
Jack nodded and rushed directly at Felix with a new flurry of punches and kicks, his previous spar with his father was a rather good start for him to grasp the taste of fighting, and now that he had it, he could finally unleash some of his fighting potential.
The flurry of fists was both fast and furious as they tried to reach their target, but no matter what the little guy did, he couldn’t touch Felix at all. It was a sadder attempt even when compared to his attacks on Lindo. Of course, if the little guy couldn’t touch Lindo, how could he touch Felix, who left Lindo so far in the dust that the lion couldn’t even see his back anymore?
The attacks were either parried as if they weighed nothing or blocked. Felix didn’t need to dodge, and if he did, he would have surely made Jack a little bit disappointed if he didn’t get to hit anything at all.
Felix could feel that Jack was improving way more while he fought with him than when he fought his father… which was quite interesting. Did that mean that his learning would increase accordingly to the strength of his opponent? That was quite the strong passive ability, maybe on the level of Felix’s own devouring one!
Felix decided to see what Jack would do when he was attacked, so he slowly pushed his hand towards his little chest in slow motion, making the little boy stop his fierce assault and back away quickly. His instincts told him that strike might claim his little life!
Felix nodded, he didn’t even use 1% of his power in that attack, but it seemed it was still a little bit much for him to handle… Felix didn’t realize it, but his strength growth was immense after his human evolution, and well, it was mostly because he had to fight a literal mountain after his ascension, so he didn’t really get to see how his strength fared against people of the same size as him.
The slow-motion attack even gave Lindo goosebumps, but he didn’t say anything as he saw Felix stop after Jack backed away. It seemed that Felix was testing his reflexes…
But that didn’t mean Lindo was really okay with it… what if his son was a beat too late and the attack landed?
Felix looked down at his outstretched arm and then retracted it as he shook his head. He realized that he did something he shouldn’t have… maybe using 1% of his strength was a little too much for the kid.
Jack breathed in and out as he controlled the wild energy in his body. His instincts shouted at him to dodge that attack, and he didn’t know what to think of his godfather anymore. Did he try to kill him?!
Felix shook his head as he said:
“I’m sorry for that. I haven’t fought against people of similar stature in this form before… I didn’t know you wouldn’t be able to handle even 1% of my strength.”
Lindo’s eyes bulged out. That was Felix’s 1%? He could swear that the strength on display was almost as high as Landers’s
How strong had Felix become when he associated with the humans?
Jack stopped his shaking body as he understood Felix’s situation, he had an honest look on his face, and it seemed he didn’t really want to hurt him, so he forgave him.
Felix nodded as he took a few steps backward and said:
“I think we are done here… I will have to go back for now. I will come to visit when my mission is done… Goodbye, Lindo, Jack.”
Felix’s silhouette disappeared as if it was never there, and it wasn’t teleportation. He just used his normal speed to go back towards the uninhabited forest.
He had finished his visit, and now, he had to go back to the humans so he could go through the last phase of their plan.
With the improvement their energy would give to his body, he would be able to protect the planet… at least that’s what they said.
Felix arrived back at the forest in around 5 minutes as he felt the teleportation power bring him directly to the president’s room.
Vangar was still there, sipping some tea as he waited for Felix to return.
The president smiled as he looked at Felix and asked:
“Have you come to regards with your heart, Felix?”
Felix nodded as his emotions were stable and fully coursing through his heart and mind. He was ready for everything and anything.
The president nodded, seeing that Felix was now emotionally stable and not so bleak anymore, made him heave a sigh in his mind. He knew that Felix must have found his reason to help them, so he was ready to initiate the last phase of their plan.
“Well, since you seem ready, follow me.”
The president went towards the door that led to the top of the tower and motioned for Felix and Vangar to follow him.
Felix and Vangar didn’t wait at all. They followed the president outside the tower towards its top.
When they arrived, the president knocked his shoes on the concrete below them, making it shake as a traction beam captured all three of them and whisked them into space.
Felix woke up in a location similar to the base where he met the metal-eyed general, but it was way wider, and there were tons of people walking around, either with stacks of documents in their arms or with piles of machine parts.
They were all like busy bees as they didn’t even talk to each other. They just worked robotically.
However, that stopped the moment the president and the duo arrived. Someone immediately came over and saluted him before taking a glance at Felix and Vangar, understanding everything before whispering to the president:
“Shall we commence the God transformation plan?”
The president nodded and said:
“You two shall work with Basil here, for now as I will have to go back. You know as a president, I don’t really have much free time.”
Vangar saluted, and Felid did the same as they both looked back at Basil. He was a man that looked to be in his thirties. He had a small mustache and a ponytail he wore the usual scientist get-up, which consisted of a coat, a green shirt, and pants along with white gloves.”
“Gentlemen. If you would be so nice to follow me.”
Basil’s voice was quite rough, and he sounded bored, but his eyes were spirited as he looked at Felix up and down, then started to walk towards a corridor of the space base while waving his right hand towards the duo, indicating for them to follow him.
Felix looked around for a little bit as he walked forward towards Basil… he was getting closer to achieving the strength needed to protect those he cared about.
