I have Nine Lives - Chapter 187
The twin’s facial expressions turned from maddened glee to fear really quickly under the new assault of Marshallo’s refined aura.
Unlike before, when his aura had that wild attribute to it that made everyone kneel to him. Now his aura had the quality of a seasoned veteran coming back from war instead of a jungle’s beast that could rip you to shreds for the smallest movements.
His death had catalyzed something in him that had been dormant since he had been chosen by one of the gods… after all, this was his first-ever death.
The twins realized they made a mistake after Marshallo got rid of the poison very easily, but those actions weakened him a little bit further as he lost quite a bit of blood.
His defenses weren’t as strong as before due to his weakened body. And now, he was further weakened, making the half and half duo think that they had a chance against him, regardless of the improved quality of his aura.
The twin’s aura flared to life as they decided to fight it out with Marshallo and get rid of him! They were on equal grounds as they both already died once, so they thought that they were at an advantage compared to the current Marshallo. Considering they had some time to recover compared to the current him. The time he had fought Felix had been counted, and they had gone at it for around 72 hours.
72 hours was a lot of time for the twins to recover to their full capacity with all of the resources they have scavenged from the surviving ships.
Because they were invading, they brought quite a lot of healing nutrients and injections for the upper echelons, so they would be able to go back to fighting if there was a chance they would fall in battle.
Marshallo’s power wasn’t as overwhelming as before, so he didn’t decide to fight the twins head-on, who now had a small advantage over him. This went against his code, but the twins didn’t really want to have an honorable fight with him in the first place. So he would pay fire with fire.
Marshallo’s form disappeared from the battlefield as the twin’s eyes narrowed. They knew how Marshallo usually acted in battles, so they were very surprised about his current actions.
This was a very strange behavior coming from one of their planet’s greatest and most prideful warriors.
They frowned. If he wasn’t going to fight them head-on this would complicate things by quite a lot, and they might even lose. They might have ambushed him, but they were still quite weaker compared to him on the overall strength level.
They knew that fighting him head-on was the best situation for them, and if they could kill him again, they could stalk the location of his revival and end his life once and for all!
Marshallo stood between the folds of space 20 meters away from the twins as he glared at their fused half bodies. He knew quite a lot about them as he trained them when they were rookies. He also knew about their ambitious side, so he predicted this would happen sooner or later.
He was just really annoyed that it would happen when he found a true warrior that he could fight against to his heart’s content.
He had to get rid of them quickly and change his respawn point to a different place. Maybe in the arena. So he would be able to fight Felix as soon as he came back.
He had made a plan. And now all he had to do was put it in motion.
Marshallo breathed out for a few seconds as he checked his internal situation, then appeared directly in front of the twins striking them in the head from both sides. Keeping their halves together as his fists started to push together, trying to mash their half heads into mush.
The twins knew that they would die if this kept up, so they started striking him in the chest at speeds so quickly that shockwaves came from Marshallo’s back and also making blood slowly drip from the side of his mouth. However, Marshallo ignored the damage that was being done to his body as he tried continuing to crush their half heads.
However, the twins moved their hands from pummeling his chest directly to his eyes as they tried to gouge them out.
Marshallo closed his eyes as he opened his fists and grasped their halves into his hands. And instead of pushing, he started to crush!
The duo’s eyeballs slowly started to pop out of their sockets due to their heads being slowly crushed under Marshallo’s strength until they started to knee him in the gut continuously to try and get out of his grasp.
However, no matter what they tried, they couldn’t do anything to him as he endured whatever they threw at him. His closed eyelids left them with no other option as an energy blade grew out of their leg, which they shot directly towards Marshallo’s crotch!
Marshallo took one step back out of surprise, which made him lose his grasp on one of the twin’s half-crushed head parts.
The loosehead immediately disappeared as it removed itself from the one that was still in Marshallo’s grasp, making that part gain a sudden hardness that made Marshallo’s attempts at crushing it like a tomato harder than before since his bodily strength wasn’t as high as before.
This annoyed Marshallo greatly, so he put both hands over the leftover twin’s head as the twin’s eye finally left its socket and his head was crushed into little bits under Marshallo’s angered grasp. While it took him more time to do it. He still had been able to in the end.
Obviously, the other twin wouldn’t come back as they would rendezvous at their revival spot, which they most likely changed and combine their bodies there. Marshallo wasn’t sure if they were going to try and assassinate him again, but he would keep an eye open and his guard up, in any case, they would try that again.
Now that he was free once again. He started to fly quickly towards the place where he threw the arena so he could continue the fight with Felix.
….
Felix had just finished absorbing the energy from Marshallo’s skeleton- and integrated it into his system when he felt that the man in question was quickly coming back to the arena. Which also regenerated to its former white-marble-like state.
Marshallo made a pew sound as he looked at Felix and said:
“I thought you would have left by now, sorry that I had made you wait so much, so should we get back to what we have been doing?”
Felix nodded… he was only entertaining Marshallo because of his former attitude of trying to destroy or enslave the planet if he didn’t get a good fight, or else he would have truly left. He also gave some instructions telepathically to Binela and Marquina to protect the planet while he was fighting Marshallo. The twins were still at large, and they were rather interesting individuals as they were able to mimic his lightning armor. He wasn’t sure if they were like Marshallo, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
Felix entered a new military fighting stance as he had learned from the former fights with Marshallo how to counter his wild style.
However, Felix became surprised as Marshallo didn’t launch himself directly at him after he came back as he took a small distance from Felix and then entered a stance of his own instead of charging recklessly towards Felix.
“It seems he is also a genius…”
Felix could see that he wasn’t the only one that learned from their fights.
This gave him a rather happy feeling inside of him. A small part of him that was currently empty was being filled by Marshallo. Was this the real feeling of having a rival? That was a feeling that he didn’t experience for a long time since he left Lindo in the dust… A Rival that could grow alongside you, someone that you could compare your growth to, and have friendly spars with. If they met each other in different circumstances, Felix thought that they might have become good friends. Just like he did with Lindo and the lion tribe.
Felix decided to make the first step in this situation. He flickered from side to side as he approached Marshallo’s unmoving figure and launched a fist directly towards him. Which in turn, made Marshallo react as their fists collided at the perfect timing.
A strong shockwave engulfed the two of them as their hair started to flutter due to the wind their clash had created. The shockwave was absorbed by the arena as they both redirected the damage towards it, making it shake for a few seconds.
Felix narrowed his eyes as he took a few steps backward. Marshallo used the same technique as him!
Marshallo smiled as he looked at Felix’s surprised expression and beckoned with his hand. Indicating that he was ready for another round, and unlike his former savage smile, this one had a little bit more control under it along with a hint of mischievousness. Both fighters were growing at insane speeds, and they both realized that as they learned from each other.
