I have Nine Lives - Chapter 190
Marshallo kept his composure as his and Felix’s gazes met in the middle of the arena. Sparks appeared between them as the arena started to combust due to the clash of their auras.
Immense power was unleashed- as the duo was ready to fight once again.
Felix knew that in this situation. After he killed Marshallo once more, things would be done.
Since Marshallo chose to revive in the arena, Felix could catch him at his weakest, and now that he had gained a good grasp of the tornado attack that Marshallo could unleash, he could destroy it way faster to the point that Marshallo wouldn’t be able to rest to half of the level he was now at.
If Felix knew this, there was no reason for Marshallo not to. He had calculated the risks and took them only because he would rather die in Felix’s hands than in the twins, who must be still hunting for him out there. He never liked his race’s royal family as someone who had been brought up from poverty to his current level with his ideology of who’s stronger should rule abhorred the fact that only those with royal blood had a saying in their society.
He had grown up to his level due to hard work and talent. And he thought that he would have a great position in their empire. He was the strongest man to ever grace the four-armed race, but all he realized after he got his current position was that politics were something he hated with a passion of incalculable amount.
The other royals teamed upon him when he entered their circle due to his low birth. And even though he beat the shit out of them, he couldn’t kill them. While he was the strongest on the planet, the other three royals who were below him weren’t that weak. If they teamed upon him, they would be able to capture him and lock him away. The king, queen, and crown prince were the snobbiest people that he had ever met and disdained him with passion.
They were also the strongest below him, who put restrictions on him due to his standing, making him almost a pet in their eyes.
This led him to his current enhanced mentality of loving battle. The torture that was first put on his body when his other two arms had been cut off. The things he had to say, and do because the other three had a numerical advantage over him…
That broke him until he went insane on the surface.
Marshallo breathed in and out as he closed his eyes and forfeited the stare battle between him and Felix.
Those things came to his mind whenever he looked at Felix, and he wondered, how was Felix treated by his own people?
Was he in a similar situation to his? Or was he blessed with good indiscriminating people?
Marshallo started to fill his hammer with energy as his thunderous aura started to become tame. If it was just like a hurricane before, now it was like a small running river in intensity.
His aura stuck to his skin as it transformed into a half orange half yellow armor- that covered his naked body.
With a few glances at Felix, he had learned how to mimic his armor creation technique.
He really needed it as fighting naked was a little bit awkward for him as well. Considering he was used to fighting clothed so he was rather glad Felix knew such an easy technique that he could copy.
Felix knew that letting Marshallo charge up his energy wasn’t a good idea, but on the other hand, Marshallo’s power was lower than his at the moment, so he could also charge his energy and clash directly with him. Considering he had more power than him at the moment, the clash would be his win and he would be able to break his guard and maybe kill him in one shot.
One more death was enough for Felix to win this duel, and he wanted to finish things already. From what he could sense, things were mostly done with the other part of the war, as Binela and Marquina must have taken care of the grunts. He wasn’t sure what happened to the twins though.
But considering their strength, Felix didn’t think that they would be troublesome to deal with after he took care of Marshallo. If they still decided to linger around.
Marshallo’s aura was evolving as a small layer remained stuck to his skin. Creating a type of new technique that Felix got inspired from at one glance.
Creating armor was something, and fusing the aura with the outer skin was something else. This was basically creating a double-layered defense, and combined with the aura armor, it could be considered a triple layer.
Felix mimicked Marshallo’s actions as his aura ran across his skin applying another defense layer as Marshallo frowned, he felt the changes in Felix’s aura, but he understood such simple tricks would be easily learnable from each other with their level of talent. However, that didn’t mean he liked it.
But the fight wouldn’t be enjoyable if it was easy, right?
Marshallo threw the hammer directly towards Felix, taking him by surprise as he reflexively caught it, making his knees tremble due to the immense and sudden weight that he found bearing upon his arms and body.
He wasn’t sure what kind of weight the hammer had, but he understood that keeping it to himself wasn’t the right step, so he threw it behind him, creating a giant hole in the arena from the impact and making it float downwards in space at a slow speed.
But that’s what Marshallo wanted. The moment that the hammer fell to the arena floor, the arena itself shook intensely, so hard that Felix’s steady balance was broken for half a breath. Which gave Marshallo enough time for him to appear behind Felix and apply a full nelson.
Felix frowned as he tried to get out of Marshallo’s strong grip, but it was very hard to escape, so he started to shoot elbows into Marshallo’s kidneys at high speed, leaving shockwaves escaping from Marshallo’s back. Blood started to flow out of Marshallo’s mouth as he coughed a part of his kidneys, but he didn’t let go of Felix.
The hammer which was slowly floating into space- flew back through the slowly closing gap in the arena and came ‘face to face’ with Felix’s body.
The hammer floated in front of him as it suddenly shot towards his ribs, hitting him there directly, and creating a sickening crunch. Some of the strength traveled through Felix’s body into Marshallo’s, making him cough even more blood, as Felix didn’t stop with his elbow shots.
Marshallo continued to apply the full nelson as the hammer hit Felix’s body all over. Cracking his bones, and lowering his regenerative abilities as Marshallo was injecting a toxic stream of energy into Felix’s nape while keeping him in the full nelson.
Felix could feel his eyelids getting heavier, not because he was too injured. But the toxic energy that was currently flowing through his body was slowing his metabolism and blood flow.
Felix shouted as he stopped hitting Marshallo with his elbow shots, but an immense aura engulfed both of them from the middle as an explosion engulfed both of their bodies and expanded through the whole arena. Felix decided to use a self-harming technique to get out of Marshallo’s full nelson.
The hammer was pushed away for tens of meters as it became scraped metal after being directly hit by Felix’s explosion, while Marshallo took a few steps backward. His arms were singed and half-broken as they hanged from the elbow down. Blood wasn’t dripping from the wound as it had been cauterized by the explosion.
Felix’s body was swaying from side to side as he looked like his whole body had been roasting in a house fire for 20 to 30 minutes.
4th-degree burns were all over his skin, and he didn’t look human anymore at all. His breath was shallow, and he almost fell to his knees as his half-closed eyes looked at Marshallo’s unmoving body.
He stood in a hunched position as his eyes were shadowed by his hair. Was he dead?
Felix tried to take one step forward, but he fell to his knees, then on his stomach as he ran out of energy to sustain his body, the explosion coming from his body hurt him. But it also drained the whole hex energy and stamina from his body.
Marshallo took one step forward to the downed Felix, his eyes were still shadowed, but the moment he took that one step, he also fell to his knees, his body was trembling as tears started to slid down his cheeks, a happy laugh came from his mouth as it opened up. Showing his sharp teeth and a feral smile.
“Such a great fight, such a great fight, I can die happily fighting you Felix, we are almost at the last round. I hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I did.”
Marshallo’s body dropped from his kneeling position as life broke away from the shell and another similarly, naked body dropped to his knees a few tens of meters away. Breathing roughly and looking very exhausted as Marshallo started to drag his naked body towards Felix’s paralyzed one, and his former husk.
Felix wasn’t sure what Marshallo wanted to do with his new weakened body. But he was sure that it wasn’t going to be anything beneficial to him as he glanced at the exhausted expression on his face. But he understood the look on his face and in his eyes, he had that look a lot of times when he had been succumbing to his primal instincts in his cat form. Felix understood what Marshallo wanted to do.
