I have Nine Lives - Chapter 199
Marquina and Binela squirmed against each other as they looked at Felix, who was ignoring the both of them, practically going against his word when he said that he would help them.
Binela couldn’t help it anymore as she bit her lip and took one step forward before saying:
“Felix… you know you promised something to us, right?”
Felix opened one eye in his feline form as he glanced towards Marquina from his position in the bed and responded to her question:
“We have enough time for that… right now, I want to rest for some time. All those fights had taken a toll on me.”
Binela continued to bit her lip as she looked down. She knew that asking Felix for that at this time when he was tired from all of the fights that he went through was selfish of her. so she took a step backward as she glanced at Marquina, who almost couldn’t control herself anymore, looking at Felix’s prone body.
Binela grabbed her by the arm, and shook her to get her out of her trance then said:
“We will get our time. For now, let him rest. At his level, he won’t need to rest for a long time.”
Marquina nodded as she stood there watching Felix rest along with Binela.
Felix’s sleep was quick and quiet. He had no dreams, nor did he enter his mental space during his sleep. It was a genuine moment where he would put down every worry he had and embrace unconsciousness.
Sleep was something he enjoyed greatly, but with his current body. He didn’t need to sleep for much time. He also had things to do, so his sleep only lasted for around 5 hours.
Felix woke up to the hungry eyes of Marquina and Binela, who were currently eyeing him while squirming in their spots. He morphed into his human form as he looked at the duo and decided to indulge them in what they wanted…
The duo’s eyes turned into hearts as they saw Felix accept them, then threw themselves into his embrace and onto the bed.
In the inn at the entrance stood the innkeeper. She frowned as she looked at the ceiling and realized that dust started to drop down from it. The whole building was actually starting to shake!
She wasn’t sure what was happening, but when she heard the moans that started appearing, she realized what was going on and decided to leave the inn for Felix and his ‘friends’ while they were occupied.
Time slowly passed, and 15 hours went by.
Felix ruffled his hair as he looked down at the two women who were content near him in his bed. They were looking at him lovingly as they patted their bellies, hoping that the current session would bear some fruit.
Felix got up from the bed as he created a colorful suit from his energy that donned itself automatically on his body.
Felix then told the duo:
“You can go around and patrol like the other two while I’m relaxing at the tribe and enjoying some time with friends.”
Marquina and Binela looked at each other, nodded, put their clothes back on, and left the inn along with him. Felix went towards Lindo’s house while the duo got to the skies and flew away.
It had been quite a lot of time since he last visited Lindo, and he also wanted to see how his godson Jack was doing.
Felix’s speed could get him to Lindo’s house in an instant. But he decided to take a moderate pace as he walked towards his house at a civilian’s speed, only arriving at it after 10 minutes of walking around and sightseeing.
Felix knocked at the door and surprisingly Jack opened it as he looked up at Felix’s face and said with a laugh:
“Father! Godfather has come to visit!”
He ran into the house to grab Lindo, who quickly came to Felix and gave him a big hug.
Lindo laughed as he looked Felix up and down, then his eyes widened as he felt Felix’s disposition and power. Even though Felix could hide his power. There were still some waves of energy that would leak from his body from time to time.
Those were signs that his hex energy was growing stronger once again, and he needed some time to gain complete control over it. As he was now, the hex energy in the surroundings was slowly getting siphoned into him and purified- at the same time. He didn’t need to train anymore as it would be done automatically.
Felix patted Jack’s head as he entered Lindo’s house at his invitation.
Lindo went to the kitchen to bring something to drink and eat while Jack and Felix were left in the living room:
“Hey godfather, have you won the war?”
Felix didn’t bat an eyebrow at how nonchalant Jack was about the planetary war that he had gone through. Lindo must have told him. After all, the little tyke was very smart, and he would have understood what the stakes were.
Felix decided to humor him with a little more kiddy version of the war. Excluding the gore and the more extremely violent parts that wouldn’t be really beneficial for the child’s current growth, those were things that he would have to experience on his own in the future. But with how things were going. There was also a chance the planet would go into deep, peaceful times unless the royals of the invading race would decide to throw more troops at them.
Jack was absorbed by Felix’s story as he suddenly asked:
“You really made this badass guy your subordinate?”
It was obvious Jack was talking about Marshallo, after all, the man was indeed quite badass.
Felix chuckled and ruffled Jack’s hair, then said:
“Of course, if you want to, I can call him over right now.”
Jack nodded as he said:
“Call him over, call him over!”
Lindo came over with a tray of cooked meat and a few glasses filled with water as he asked:
“Call who over?”
Felix explained to him about his ‘heroics’. Which made Lindo’s jaw almost drop to the floor, Felix had gone through a huge planetary war while he had become a stay-at-home dad who didn’t even have to work because of his family connections. That didn’t mean he didn’t train anymore, but his experiences were rather mundane, to say the least.
Jack was entranced even the second time when Felix had told him about his experiences as his eyes shone while he said:
“Call over Marshallo, call him over! I want to see this guy!”
The fight between Marshallo and Felix was quite epic, to say the least, so of course, the curious child would want to see the other party.
Felix chuckled as he closed his eyes for a few seconds. Then, the sound of breaking air was heard outside.
Jack ran outside while Felix and Lindo followed him from behind. Marshallo landed in a superman pose as he glanced at Jack and gave him a warm smile, just as Felix instructed him in his mental message.
Felix introduced them to each other while Jack analyzed Marshallo with a critical eye then he said:
“I see why my godfather beat you!”
Felix wasn’t sure if little Jack was trying to offend Marshallo or not with that comment. But Marshallo just laughed as he shrugged it off even though Felix didn’t tell him to do it then he said:
“Well, little guy, your godfather is quite the awesome man, and I think he deserved to beat me.”
“Anyways, anything, in particular, you wanted to ask me?”
Jack started to put his fingers against each other as he decided to ask directly:
“Would you mind if you made me your disciple?”
This time both Felix and Lindo were surprised by his actions. Something didn’t seem right here, and Marshallo suddenly looked towards the sky as he pointed a finger there. A soundless scream was heard in Felix’s ears, while Lindo just looked puzzled at Marshallo’s actions. What was he pointing at?
Jack shook his head as he felt something wasn’t really right with him beforehand, but he still looked at Marshallo with respect as he asked again:
“What do you say Mr. Marshallo?”
Marshallo shook his head as he looked towards Felix with a questioning gaze. Felix did understand that Jack must have been manipulated a little by the goddess of charm and illusion for him to ask Marshallo to become his disciple instead of Felix. But Marshallo was indeed free most of the time, and he could teach Jack quite a lot of things, while Felix was just lazy. It was a good idea to let Marshallo teach Jack.
However, he wasn’t sure why the goddess needed to give Jack a ‘bump’ for that to happen. Also, he wasn’t sure how the invasion of the God realm was going on as Aaltarox hadn’t contacted him anymore. Was the god still alright?
While Marshallo got the affirmative message, Felix was still thinking about the situation of the realm above theirs.
While Aaltarox wasn’t really a friend of his. The ability that he gave him was very useful, and it had led him to his current life. He still saw the lives in the corner of his eye, so that meant Aaltarox was alive, but his current situation was certainly unknown, which made Felix feel a little bad about him. After all. The God did help him greatly by blessing him with this ability when he needed it the most.
Even with his mutated evolution ability he would have surely died in the first few minutes of being transported to this world… Felix decided that he would try his best to contact Aaltarox after he finished his talk with Lindo.
