I have Nine Lives - Chapter 210
Felix was really conspicuous as he dived through the well-lit blue sky above the green continent that he was going to.
He could be seen by anybody. But somehow, he hadn’t been attacked by any gods up till now, even though the lotus on his forehead should have triggered a signal that notified the gods that he had arrived in the divine realm.
This was something strange. But Felix attributed it to enter through a backdoor with Altraeimo’s help instead of arriving at the divine realm using the normal mean.
So he could take them by surprise with his sudden arrival… Felix smiled as he dropped to the continent below and arrived above a highly populated village that had already identified Felix and created a defensive barrier in their air space, hoping to keep Felix away from them.
However, Felix easily walked through the barrier as if it wasn’t even there and looked around for a few seconds before arriving at a small house at the border of the city in an instant.
There he delivered a swift strike to the doorknob of the average-sized house and entered it before saying:
“Come out.”
However, nothing happened after he said those words. Felix narrowed his eyes as he sighed, then lifted his arm forward before dragging something out of the air.
A muffled thud was heard as Felix dropped a dwarf with a red beard and a black cap on the floor of the house. The dwarf coughed as he was previously held by his neck, and he couldn’t breathe properly anymore.
His coughs disappeared after a short while as he glared at Felix from below and asked with anger in his tone:
“Who are you? What are you doing here? Do you know who I am?”
Felix ignored all of his questions as he grabbed him by the face and asked him a question of his own before revealing the fiery lotus tattoo on his forehead:
“Do you know anyone that could have gave me this tattoo?”
The red dwarf glanced at the lotus tattoo and frowned as he shook his head and said:
“How the heck could I know that? Are you crazy man?”
The puzzled look that the dwarf was giving Felix was genuine, which showed that he had no clue about Felix’s tattoo.
This made Felix drop the dwarf on the floor again as he frowned and asked himself:
“How doesn’t he know?”
Felix thought that the stronger civilians should atleast have the bare knowledge of punishments of the gods or something like that.
Since he couldn’t go to a certain God, he needed to know where they were situated in general:
Felix picked him up once again and asked:
“Where are those God’s headquarters?”
The red-bearded dwarf narrowed his eyes as he used his hands to put his black cap over his eyes as he started to sing:
“I don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t know what you are talking about…”
Felix started shaking him until the cap dropped off his head, also making him gag as he almost vomited on Felix. From what Felix could see, he was trying to vomit on him on purpose.
Felix hit him over the head, which made the dwarf glared at him once again as he said:
“I guess you are a newly ascended spirit?”
Felix didn’t say anything which made the dwarf nod as he said:
“I don’t know what type of relationship you had with the gods when you were alive, but I think you should drop all hostilities to them if you want to live in the divine realm.”
“They are the rulers of this place. And goddamn, can you let me down? I won’t run away, okay, I understand you are strong…”
Felix dropped him to the floor once again as the dwarf got up to his feet and massaged his sore butt before walking towards the wine cabinet in his house, taking out a big bottle of wine that he uncorked before taking a huge swig out of it.
“Anyways, I advise you to…”
Felix stopped him there as he glared at him to intimidate him and then said:
“I don’t need your advice. All I want to know is where is the location of God’s headquarters.”
The dwarf combed his red beard as he sighed then said:
“Well, I would get in trouble for doing this, but what else can I do?”
Felix nodded as he saw how the dwarf gave in:
“Every continent that’s in the divine realm has a God protecting it, but due to the previous war, some Gods had fallen, and some of the continents are lacking protectors now.”
“This is one of the continents that is missing a protector. The late Goddess Sindora used to watch over this place.”
Felix frowned as he heard Sindora’s name. Was it a coincidence he had arrived in the place of the person that he had killed?
Seeing Felix frown made the dwarf take another swig of the wine bottle as he said:
“You had beef with her? Well, she is dead now, so I guess you can enjoy your new life.”
Felix shook his head as he didn’t want to share his story with the dwarf before asking:
“Is there a place where God’s gather in a bunch?”
The red dwarf shook his head as he said:
“I don’t know.”
Felix disappeared from the dwarf’s house leaving him sweating as he finished the wine bottle and threw it on the floor, breaking the bottle into pieces and saying:
“Goddamit, I almost peed myself. Who the hell is that guy? And what beef does he have with gods?”
…..
Felix was flying above the continents as he kept his eyes closed while expanding his senses to find a God by himself. He thought that interrogating a native would give him some information, but it didn’t really seem so… If Felix guessed correctly. While the Gods did make public appearances, the civilians didn’t know where they dwelled.
Felix could also identify civilizations and Empires in the divine world with experts that had strength that rivaled the generals of the human tribe, but there weren’t people with strength above that. And considering the weakest gods were still stronger than the normal generals of the humans, it showed that the Gods were the dominant faction in this world.
Felix frowned as he couldn’t sense the location of any strong individual besides the ‘civilians’ of the bigger empires. Where were the gods hiding?
From what Felix could sense, they were either in a special location where their coordinates couldn’t be identified, or they were hiding by sealing their auras perfectly.
Felix could either wait for a God to pop out by himself or attract their attention.
If he did do the second option, he would be swarmed by multiple Gods, and he wasn’t sure if he would be able to fight more than 5 Gods at once as he didn’t have a clear knowledge about their techniques and powers.
By waiting and ambushing a god, he would have a better chance to take the others by surprise and easily get rid of the lotus tattoo that was plaguing him.
Fighting them head-on wasn’t the smart thing to do, in this situation, and even though Felix had become a very good head-on fighter. He did start as an assassin.
Felix’s silhouette started to flicker as it disappeared into the blue sky of the divine realm. His appearance melded into transparency as he closed his eyes and floated midair waiting for a God to reveal himself.
Felix’s state lasted for 4 months before he could sense a small movement in the northern sites of the realm, his eyes opened wide as he practically teleported to where he sensed the movement, but he kept his traveling muffled as to not scare the target away or make the target wary.
Felix’s invisibility was of a high level, and his aura hiding had improved to perfection under his soul’s continuous improvement.
Under his watchful gaze, he saw a girl wearing a hooded white priest robe that kept her features covered move around stealthily as she tried to disappear into nothingness by moving into a spatial portal that just opened.
However, before she could do so, Felix appeared in front of the spatial portal soundlessly while keeping his stealth up.
Then he grabbed her by the wrist with his left hand, while throwing a hex blast into the portal with the right hand, disturbing it and making it close prematurely.
The girl was scared as she tried to remove Felix’s grip from her wrist, making her hood fall and revealing her features to Felix.
She had pearly blue eyes, pink hair, a small nose, and elongated ears. She also had two small pearl earrings inserted at the top of her long ears.
She cried out in pain as Felix increased the strength of his grip and appeared in front of her, making her eyes widen as she saw the lotus tattoo on his forehead, and she cried out in both surprise and fear:
“Sindora’s killer?!”
Felix smiled as he finally found someone who knew about him. Things would certainly be easier from now on.
