I Only Treat Villains - Chapter 24
For a moment I felt sorry, thinking that this must be the product of this man’s abusive life.
But there was really no reason to sympathize.
Soon after, I looked at his face again, and immediately noticed a small change from the man.
“Aha. Sympathy? Really, Miss? Have you suffered such pain? Or was it someone close to you who went through it?”
“…”
He had such terribly unpleasant eyes now.
“I’m right, aren’t I?”
“You know I’m not obliged to answer that.”
“Miss, I can’t help but read your face.”
“Really? Then I’d like you to focus on my face, which has gotten thinner from the treatment. Put your hands away.”
“…”
My finger touched his neck. Naturally, his face got closer.
“It’ll hurt less because it’s the last one. Hang in there, kid.”
Heimdahl didn’t take his eyes off me until the end of the treatment, like a beast aiming for prey.
After the treatment, I let go of him, still pretending to look calm on the outside.
“The treatment is over.”
I raised both hands, and he fell in front of the door and prepared to scram.
Squeak.
Soon the doorknob turned and I tilted my head towards the door.
Although it can be said to be the end of winter, it was cold in the back alley, without any warmth.
When you exhale, you can see the condensation.
‘It’s chilly.’
It was a place that depended on the dim moonlight without a single street lamp.
The human body doesn’t just return to normal just because it’s healed.
‘Perfect for business.’
I was able to treat people, but that wouldn’t solve a sudden drop in physical strength or mental fatigue.
Therefore, Heimdahl must have felt the fatigue accumulated in his body.
Like a man who ran for too long with his full power.
“Hey.”
I caught the man, lying down, with my eyes.
“I’ll give you a choice. Sleep there tied up, or…You have to promise me something, and I’ll let you sleep in a warm place?”
“Promise you something?”
“What else would it be? Promise not to mess around.”
Heimdahl laughed in vain.
‘Looks like it’s not going to work.’
I shrugged my shoulders.
“I don’t hate it.”
His gratitude is enough even if he dislikes it. It was time to give up and go in without hesitation.
“I promise.”
As I lowered my head, I could see Heimdahl sitting with difficulty. He raised his hands, tied as they were.
“I promise you.”
The loose-fitting outfit discredited the credibility of his statement.
“…Wow, look at the nerve. I want to cancel the agreement.”
“Then, can I ask you politely?”
His shirt was tattered, hair drenched with sweat, chin up, and his gaze fierce.
Instead of looking like a patient, he seemed more like an indulgent prodigal son of a wealthy family.
“What do you want in return?” (Heimdahl)
“Nothing at all?” (Syrinx)
Heimdahl frowned slightly.
“A favor without a reward, do you seriously expect me to believe that?”
“Why not? Don’t make everyone in the world a shameless man like you, look a little pretty.”
Even if you look at it like that, there was nothing I wanted from him.
‘Oh, you’re making an eye out for that face, aren’t you?
If I get paid, it becomes a relationship.
I hate that kind of relationship.
“Well, if you really want to find a reason, let’s go with this.”
I slowly looked into the distance and scooped up something from my imaginary past. Gradually, memories flowed out of my mouth like a stream.
“First, I’m a person who’s been hurt a lot like you said.”
I folded one of my straightened fingers.
“Secondly, I have two pretty younger siblings, and I can’t stand to see anyone who’s covered in blood since my father hit my brother in the eye in front of me. End of description.”
Clap clap. After showing my palms, I took something from my pocket.
“Look at this.”
“…What is it?”
“Conditions for you to come into my house?”
Of course as it is, how can you trust a verbal promise and let things just happen? I held out my palm to him.
Heimdahl stared at the jewels that had risen.
“Think of it as a pledge of some kind of spell as collateral, and swear on this jewel.”
“… You have all sorts of tricks.”
