I Own A Sharingan - Chapter 24
On a calm sea northeast of Taiju City, an old fishing boat was splitting the waves at full speed.
At the bow of the boat, a young man was sitting holding a book in his hands and reading it carefully.
A young woman then approached and came and stood behind him with a smile on her face.
“What books are you reading?”
“Fauna and Flora of the World Volume 6.”
Raigo says as he turns a page in the book.
“The weather looks good, according to Daniel we’ll be on the island by tonight.”
Raigo looked at Kalra, nodding his head before continuing his reading.
“You’re not very talkative, my handsome boss.”
Karla came and sat next to him with a smile on her face before looking at the beautiful landscape.
“It reminds me of my hometown, it’s a beautiful city crossed by the waters on which small wooden boats ride.”
Raigo reluctantly closed his book, knowing that the lady sitting next to him would not let him read in peace.
“Those were good times, I was young and carefree and I didn’t have to put myself in danger”.
“Why did you become an archeologist or a hunter if you like a carefree life?”
Raigo looked at the vast sea with his eyes closed, feeling the gentle sea breeze ċȧrėssing his hair.
Kalra remained silent for a moment before raising her head to the sky with a smile.
“My father was a famous archaeologist; he wrote several reference books and even participated in famous excavations, I wanted to become like him, I wanted him to be proud of me, because I admired him a lot”.
“What a cliché story, I was hoping you had something better to tell me.”
“How amazing you are, tell me why you became Hunter.”
“Me? It’s to distract me, of course.”
“What do you mean?”
Karla asked curiously, but before Raigo answered, Husun happily approached.
“I see it’s flirting around here, what’s there to talk about?”
Raigo shook his head and then took his book, which he continued to read.
Karla looked at Husun with a murderous look that set him back.
“We’re talking about why we became hunters.”
Raigo said as he turned another page.
“Apart from adventure, what is the point of becoming a hunter?
“For money, of course, hunter is in the top three highest paying jobs in the world.”
Judi in a swimsuit sitting on a deckchair while tanning says with a smile before turning her gaze to Daniel in the ċȯċkpit.
“Isn’t that right, honey?”
“It depends on how you look at it darling, this is only the truth of Jackpot hunters like us, the word hunter in itself can have many meanings.”
Daniel, driving the boat, smiles as he holds the rudder.
“A hunter is the one who stalks a prey, the hunter hunts his prey, each hunter has a different prey and this is what makes us unique and interesting hunter.”
Raigo said lazily closing his book while looking away, Husun behind him nodded his head seeming to agree with what Raigo say, so he wanted to speak when Raigo said out loud.
“Everybody look at the clouds in the East!”
“We’ve got a big problem.”
Daniel who was an experienced navigator had a serious look by putting his glasses back on while increasing the speed of the boat.
Judi got up and hurried back to the ċȯċkpit and started discussing the route with Daniel.
“Doc, Husun will put the remaining equipment in the hold.”
“Yes, boss.”
Raigo got up and approached Daniel and Judi.
“Will the boat be able to withstand a storm?”
“Don’t worry boss, this boat is very strong despite its age.”
Raigo nodded his head and came to the main deck, the wind started to pick up.
The dark clouds did not let a single ray of sunshine through, the mist covered the entire horizon.
Raigo standing on the deck with a serious expression felt a drop of rain fall on his face, then a second and a few seconds later, it rained.
The storm was coming and thunder could be heard in the distance.
The sea current was beginning to become strong, the sea was choppy, the roar of the huge waves was covering the strong wind, Raigo destabilized by the force of the waves and soaked approached the cabin, he grabbed the edge of a window to stabilize himself.
Suddenly, a heavy noise rang out, everyone blinded for a brief moment.
Lightning struck a few meters from the boat.
The noise was so loud that Raigo lost his hearing for a brief moment, but as soon as he found her, he heard Daniel’s cry.
“Boss, I can’t maneuver the boat anymore!”
No sooner had he uttered these words than walls of water broke on the deck, causing a backlash.
