Chapter 21: Chapter 21 – Ancient Vampire
“My Lord, I am your loyal servant, always ready to fulfill your wishes,” She replied, her voice carrying a hint of allure and a playful smile gracing her lips.
“Ehh, when did I sign up for the role of a master?” Bong exclaimed with a bemused expression, raising one eyebrow in playful confusion.
“Ohh, my master, your voice is so enchanting.” She purred, her voice dripping with admiration,
“Wait, you can understand me?” He asked, his tone a blend of amazement and disbelief, his eyes widened, his wings twitching in a mix of surprise and curiosity, his wings fluttering in surprise.
“What kind of servant would I be if I couldn’t understand you?” She replied with an amused grin, her eyes sparkling mischievously.
“You can understand me? But how? I mean, you’re a… um, a bat? ” Bong blinked in astonishment, his wide eyes reflecting his disbelief. He scratched his head, his confusion evident, yet a hint of amusement played on his lips.
[ALERT]
[Oh great, another round of drama. Let’s hear it.]
“Shhh… System, I need to figure this out first.” Bong hushed, mimicking a ‘shushing’ motion with his wing held up to his beak, as if trying to silence the notifications.
“So, ahem ahem, who exactly are you?” Bong inquired, clearing his throat in a playful manner.
“Oh my Lord, How rude of me. I didn’t introduce myself. Allow me to introduce myself,” She said with a polite tone, a charming smile, and a slight bow.
“Yes, Yes, I’m granting you the grand stage. Go ahead, dazzle me,” Bong exclaimed with a theatrical flair, a hint of amusement in his tone.
“My Lord, please take a seat on this majestic throne that I’ve prepared for you. Our tale is a long one, and I’ve brought you a glass of fresh human blood. Consider it a vintage,” she said, her voice dripping with a mix of reverence and allure.
“Whoa, whoa, hold your fangs there! I’ve got standards, you know. Evil human blood only for me, none of that innocent stuff,” Bong said, wagging his finger and striking a pose as if setting some comical rule.
“My Lord, this is vintage blood, belonging to the most cruel human in this realm,” She said with a respectful elegance, offering the glass with a slight bow. The initial posting of this chapter occurred via N0v3l.B11n.
She extended the glass containing the blood, and within its crimson depths, the red hue shimmered beautifully, perfectly capturing the dim moonlight filtering into the cave. The liquid seemed to hold a mysterious allure as it glimmered, casting a mesmerizing reflection.
She began to share her story. Her name was Seraphina Nightshade, a member of the pure-blood Vampire nobility from the once-prosperous Darkveil Kingdom. Many years ago, the Vampire race forged a pact with humanity, aiming to establish a lasting peace.
Under this arrangement, humans would provide Vampire society with blood, sourced from those sentenced to death or wicked individuals condemned to prison. In return, Darkveil Kingdom would ensure the coexistence of both races and maintain harmony between them.
The lifespan of Vampires is a hundred times longer than that of humans. However, as time went on, humanity began to show less interest in upholding the peace treaty. With changes in government and the rise of a new Emperor, the sentiments shifted.
He viewed the Vampire race as mere bloodsuckers and rejected the notion of coexistence. Breaking the peace treaty, humankind declared war against the Vampires. Yet, humans proved incapable of defeating the Vampires, who grew more formidable at night and nearly impossible to kill.
Our leader, a pure-blood belonging to the ancient Bloodlords lineage, emerged as a formidable force. During the war waged against us by humanity, he displayed unparalleled ferocity and ruthlessness. Singlehandedly, he bathed in the blood of humans, leaving a chilling spectacle in his wake. This event marked a turning point, leading humans to realize the power of the Ancient Bloodlords. The night of that merciless bloodshed was illuminated by the moon turning crimson, a phenomenon now known as the Full Bloody Moon, signifying the birth of an Ancient Bloodlord wrath.
However, those treacherous and pathetic humans resorted to a deceitful ploy. Under the pretense of surrendering and ending the war, they orchestrated a meeting with our leader. Humans exploited the one fatal weakness that all vampires share, including the Ancient Bloodlords themselves. This secret vulnerability, known only through ancient texts, had long been safeguarded within our castle. Tragically, someone managed to steal this closely guarded knowledge and sell it to the humans.
They lure our leader and stabbed him using the weakness, it was night of our end, after they wage the war again, killing all the Vampire, only few survived from the war, they scattered all around the land, hiding within shadow, for their Survival.
As she recounted the tale, she knelt on the cold ground, tears streaming down her cheeks. The hole in the cave’s roof allowed the moonlight to pierce through, casting a silvery glow on her tear-streaked face.
The ethereal light reflected in her teardrops, creating a somber and haunting beauty. The cave seemed to hold its breath, enveloped in a heavy silence that carried the weight of betrayal, agony, and the war between humankind and vampires.
Each word spoken seemed to resonate with the collective pain and history of her people, etching the story into the very fabric of the cave’s darkness.
Sitting upon his magnificent throne, Bong listened intently to Seraphina’s story, his gaze fixed on her as she recounted the tragic history of her people. The glass of blood in his hand remained untouched, his usual delight in bloodshed replaced by a sense of somber understanding.
Tears welled up in his eyes, reflecting the pain and sorrow of the tale he was hearing. He looked at Seraphina with a mixture of empathy and respect, realizing the weight of her words and the gravity of the history they carried.
Breaking the profound silence, Bong’s voice cut through the heavy atmosphere.
“But hold on a bat second, but how does this story relate to me? how did I end up as your master all of a sudden?” Bong questioned, his curiosity skyrocketing. His eyebrows arched in a comically perplexed manner, as if he had stumbled upon a riddle in the middle of the night.
