I Shall Be Happy (Attack On Titan Fan-fic) - Chapter 46
(Mikasa’s POV)
It’s been roughly 2 months since the transitioning process started.
At first, Thana-kun reconstructed our body to make it more compatible with ‘mana’. He made a whole new body from scratch for each of us, which was a bit embarrassing. My new nȧkėd body was in full view in his eyes. But fortunately, or unfortunately, he didn’t even bat an eyelid during the whole process.
He told me a soulless body was pretty much as good as a rock. That’s an acceptable answer but for a second, I thought he didn’t like my body, which would have probably devastated me since I have the biggest bust size out of his girlfriends.
I massaged it daily after all…
It took him three whole days for him to finish the bodies. He also embedded a small fraction of his infinite power, giving us a source of extreme high-quality mana to draw power from. Of course, there’s a limit on how much we can take so we need to become stronger to use more.
After that was the soul transplanting process and we were in a coma for 2 days—or so he said.
But I think… no. I know for sure, it was much longer… Much, much longer… Annie and Historia also felt the same way.
2 days wouldn’t have been even remotely close enough for him to have such a despondent and lonely expression… His expression… was like… as if he fell into the abyss, never to wake up again.
I couldn’t even imagine how he felt while waiting for us to wake up… How worrisome it must have been.
If anything happened during the transplant and we die, I…
The three of us hugged him for an entire day until he became normal again.
I can say for sure that it was definitely more than a month. Maybe even years…
Then for the rest of the time within the time chamber, we were getting used to ‘mana’.
The whole experience felt as if I was submerged in cool water. Refreshing and addicting.
I became much more powerful, though at first, I was greatly weakened. And it took me a month and a half to become as strong as I am now. Even stronger.
For comparison, if before I was only as strong as a human, now, the Colossal Titan won’t even be my match.
I grew at least 10 times stronger.
My body became much more efficient and my muscles got very flexible, enabling me to do impossible maneuvers that I couldn’t before. My stamina is nearly inexhaustible, which wouldn’t be depleted unless I overexert myself. Furthermore, all my senses were enhanced remarkably.
It felt like I was omnipotent and there was nothing I can’t do.
Once our soul was fully ȧssimilated with the body after a month of training, something happened.
I experienced a feeling of euphoria. It was so intense and unimaginable. It was to the point where I couldn’t even contain the pŀėȧsurė, causing me to convulse in ecstasy for more than 100 times straight. It lasted for an entire day.
It wasn’t just me. The same goes for Annie and Historia.
And as if Thana-kun expected that to happen, he was nowhere to be seen during the whole event. It was a good thing because I don’t want anyone to know what happened. The three of us also agreed. No one should ever know what happened. But we became much… closer… much more intimate… with each other.
Anyway, we were no longer the same. Annie and I can now fight on par with Thana-kun when he’s using 10% of our strength, which is a drastic improvement. With the inclusion of Historia, we can even win. That surprised him greatly, but I thought it was unfair. He’s bȧrėly using any power at all, yet it took our alls to win.
It was truly a magical thing, especially Historia. She can cast magic spells that can be very annoying if I were her opponent. Unlike how I imagined it to be, she didn’t need to use incantation. She can just simply wave her hand, and her mana would do its magic.
Apparently Thana-kun said she was a sorcerer, someone that is very rare even in his precious world. He used to also be sorcerer, and sorcerers don’t need to chant magic. They just need to understand, comprehend, and convey their intentions to create phenomena.
With mana, she can literally do almost everything, though, with less flexibility than Thana-kun.
His power is an enigma. Similar to a sorcerer, he just needs to understand something to will it to happen. But some things are just impossible to replicate no matter what.
As Thana-kun stated, the large scale of this space for example… even with infinite mana and the comprehension, you can’t do something like this. It’s impossible to create a space where no time can pass. That’s beyond the realm of humanity.
He said ancient magicians were able to a sub-dimension it to a certain degree, but those had strict rules, like: you can’t put a living body in, it must be smaller than a certain size, etc…
Annie and I can also do magic and that’s what he called a Witch. But it’s a much more rigorous process than a sorcerer. We need to connect to a magic system, but there’s none, and then from there, chant the incantation required. If we don’t do that, then it’s nearly impossible for us to use mana to create magic. Of course, if we still insist on using magic, we have to do literally millions of calculations, in order to make a spell that’s actually strong enough to do something.
It doesn’t mean we can’t use mana though. As I said earlier, because of mana, we became much more powerful.
Thana-kun gave us a special cultivation manual.
By following it step-by-step, we can develop unimaginable power. A cultivator.
The manual basically tells us that, in order to become stronger, we need to refine our body with our mana. The finer the quality of the mana, or its density, the more power we can exercise. And by manipulating mana in a specific pattern, we can also create a special phenomenon. It was just like magic, but of course, without the same caliber.
But the advantage that we have over magicians is that we are physically more powerful. If we get close to them, there is just no way they can win. We are too fast, too dangerous once someone is within our domain of close combat.
Both have their own pros and cons. And from what I know, each contained limitless paths that you can take and specialized in.
For Historia, she is a magician, mainly focusing on being both a Healer and a Tactical Sorcerer.
For Annie, she’s a cultivator, focusing on being a Martial Artist and a Fighter
As for me, I am also a cultivator, but specialized in the way of Assassination.
We were different now…
This is largely contributed to our newly made body. There were no more impurities within our bodies, which can hinder our mana circulation.
But the most important reason why is due to the pure mana that we’re using. If we draw mana from the air, we will still be strong, but not even remotely close to what we are now.
This is the biggest perk that came from the new body: the ultra-pure mana.
It’s a source of energy coming from Thana-kun himself. It can never run out. We can even spam infinite abilities until we are too tired to continue. The only limit it has is the limit on our bodies. To be able to utilize it further, the only way is to become stronger.
But this is infinitely better than our previous titan’s power.
“Thank you Thana-kun…”
“No problem. It’s worth it if you can be safer.”
“Uhm…”
“Alright, let’s exit the time chamber now. Shall we?”

(A/N this is the last info dump. I swear.
So if you didn’t understand the power system that Mikasa was talking about. It’s fine. I specifically designed it to be that way. It would be weird if she just starts explaining so in depth so yeah…
Most of this will be useless until later. So you don’t really have to read this.
Basically. The Mana that Mikasa has been talking about isn’t your normal average isekai Mana.
It functions as the Ki from Chinese novels and the normal mana that you can see magicians in most novels use.
The Ki is kinda self-explanatory. But in his previous world, they weren’t that strong, simply because the mana wasn’t pure.
The same goes for the normal magicians, they were weak, because of the impure mana.
So for Magicians. There are two types: Sorcerers and Wizards/Witches.
Sorcerers are basically born to use mana. They just need to understand the law behind the world to execute their magic. Very hard, but easier.
For Wizards/Witches, they supposedly had an easier time to do magic IF only they have a magic system. This would be like the normal Mana from your average everyday Isekai manga/novel/anime. They just need to chant and voila. They got magic.
But to use real magic, Wizards would have to understand the law, just like Sorcerers, but you would also need to do countless calculations.
Like if I try to fire a fireball, I would need to calculate the total energy used, the trajectory, air resistance, shape, etc. (I drew some of this idea from the Advent of the Archmage. It’s quite a good novel)
Idk y I’m even writing this. I just felt like I need to explain it.
Once again, this is not important. Yet.)
