I Started As A Novel Villain - Chapter 170: Wan Kun
They raced out of Yanjing’s main commercial area and into the eastern suburbs.
The car resembled a speeding hurricane, and the scenery between the two appeared blurry.
After a few minutes, they entered Yanjing’s eastern outskirts.
Mu Zijin received a call from the kidnapper during the car drive, and it appeared to Ye Fei that they were having a furious conversation.
But as Ye Fei looked over to Mu Zijin, he saw her hurl her phone out the car window in a fit of wrath.
Seeing this, he said earnestly, “Zijin?.”
“The other party is someone I have a hostile relationship with,” Mu Zijin said, taking an extended breath. “During my time in the military, I was stationed near the boundary of Yunxiao Province, and there I battled against someone named Wan Kun. Still, I didn’t expect to see him alive.”
This time, the kidnapper was a mercenary looking for Mu Zijin.
Ye Fei was aware that Mu Zijin had previously served in the army, and that many enemies would be made when carrying out a mission.
It seems he came specifically to find Mu Zijin to seek revenge!
The majority of active duty soldiers are assigned to guard China’s Yunxiao Province, Baixiang Country, or Nanzhao Country.
Ye Fei narrowed his eyes, when he heard Mu Zijin say, “Wan Kun is a very powerful mercenary who would do anything for a bit of money. For instance, he would wait for any soldier who came to patrol the border and pretended to be a mercenary to approach and entice them by listing the benefits of participating in shady activities.”
Hearing a brief explanation from Mu Zijin, Ye Fei understood. These kidnappers, it turns out, reside on the border of Eastern China.
Specifically, mercenaries who are unable to make a living dwell in the area.
Ye Fei knew that the border zone was indeed chaotic, especially with all those hired puppet soldiers, and in terms of freedom, Wan Kun is even more terrifying than the Violet organization, because assassins will need to first hide after murdering their target, but Wan Kun appeared to kidnap Wen Xiaoting in broad daylgiht and threaten Mu Zijin with her.
He’s simply too daring and courageous!
Dealing with this type of person is indeed very tricky.
As Ye Fei drove through the start of the eastern section, he quickly asked, “Who’s on duty?.”
Missions done by second-class soldiers are typically dispatched all at once.
Furthermore, they are the forces tasked with dealing with dangerous mercenaries such as Wan Kun.
So, according to Ye Fei, there must be a reason why Wan Kun expressly asked Mu Zijin to come to this location.
Perhaps he bribed the second-rate troops?
To his question, Mu Zijin replied solemnly, “We normally complete our missions together. When I was in the military, one of them was to crack down on Wan Kun’s group income and his monopoly over eastern civilians. We also sent a number of elite soldiers to fight against their mercenary group.”
Just as Ye Fei predicted. Hearing her brief description, he could imagine the scene at that time. It had to have been a tough fight.
“Our offensive was well planned. The outcome was likewise excellent. Wan Kun’s mercenary group had roughly 100 persons at the time. Even though we didn’t have as many men as we would have wanted, we were able to kill and injure more than half of their group and successfully capture Wan Kun.”
She couldn’t help but sigh quietly as she spoke, recalling the thrilling battle.
Mu Zijin’s mind was etched with the exhilaration of the moment and the sensation of danger lurking around every corner. In the battle, there were a few soldiers who assisted her.
It was a deeply unforgettable memory for Mu Zijin.
Then, with a solemn expression on her face, she continued, “Wan Kun attempted to escape in desperation.” As a result, I fired a couple more shots. But…his lover stepped in and protected him by taking the shot instead. Still, I had to fulfill my duty, which was to murder him, which I did by shooting him in the chest. At the time, we were extremely confident that he was dead since getting shot in the chest is extremely fatal yet he was alive. It’s no surprise that he despises me so much because I inadvertently killed his lover. So, he’s specifically looking for me this time to get his retribution.”
When Ye Fei heard this, he realized what the kidnapper’s aim was.
No surprise he was out for vengeance due to Mu Zijin.
She not only injured Wan Kun, but also killed his lover.
Hearing that the problem at hand is extremely dangerous, Ye Fei also knew it was rather straightforward.
Soon, as Ye Fei was driving and the two were talking, they reached near the location Wan Kun had given them.
Even though it was desolate and eerily quiet, Ye Fei and Mu Zijin stepped out of the car and saw that the roads in this part of the eastern suburbs were completely closed, with barbs of wire put out.
An alert whistle went out just as they were about to enter the restricted areas.
Looking for the source of the sound, Ye Fei and Mu Zijin decided to go there. They arrived at a medical clinic and found Xiong Feng with a number of armed soldiers following after him, and as soon as they spotted Mu Zijin, they politely saluted her.
Then, Xiong Feng spoke solemnly, “Instructor, you are finally here!.”
After seeing Mu Zijin, Xiong Feng looked at Ye Fei once more, and said cheerfully, “Master, no, brother! You came too?.”
He had wanted to revere Ye Fei as his teacher ever since he had fought him the previous time, but he’d been rejected.
Nonetheless, Xiong Zheng wished to make Ye Fei his martial arts instructor.
“Yes, anyhow, what’s the situation?.” Ye Fei straightforwardly asked.
Despite the fact that they agreed to meet at a certain location, Wan Kun should have at least a few subordinates waiting in the shadows.
“Reporting to master, the surrounding region has been safeguarded by our country’s officials,” Xiong Feng said swiftly. “However, the mercenaries are properly equipped and prepared. The ground here is very high, making escape and fighting feasible.”
Still with the issue of having a hostage, Wan Kun wanted to force Mu Zijin to come by herself.
Xiong Feng’s cheerful grin faded as he added grimly, “Xiaoting is now secure for the time being, but the situation is critical.” You are also aware of Wan Kun’s ruthlessness. He threatened to cut off Wen Xiaoting’s hand first if he didn’t see you within an hour.
Hearing this, Mu Zijin and Ye Fei both frowned.
“There shouldn’t be many members in Wan Kun’s group, but Wen Xiaoting is in their hands, and he’s quite cunning. However, the terrain is both favorable and detrimental to us,” Mu Zijin remarked.
Ye Fei looked about at the surrounding landscape, and as Xiong Zheng had said, it was simple for a few people to conceal and fire before safely retreating.
Wan Kun’s methods are harsh and clever as a fox, and dealing with him is extremely difficult.
“Since he wants to talk, I’ll talk to him.” Mu Zijin said.
“No, if you show up, he will definitely want to murder you cold handly!.” Hearing what Mu Zijing said, Xiong Feng flatly refused.
Because meeting with a mercenary with a vengeance agenda is really dangerous!
