I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain - Chapter 63
Gideon may have been dozing off but he suddenly got brought back to a distant memory in the past.
“Deon, are you ok?” Alice asks him and Gideon blinked.
Was he seeing this correctly? Is this really his sister in front of him?
“Aren’t you going to explain to me what happened next?”
Oh no this… this seems like a very convincing illusion. One that is based on a conversation he and his sister had. It was his day off and his sister was staying over for the week since she felt stuffy in her dorm. If he remembered what he said back then correctly…
“The Prince sent off Kassandra to the north to aid in the fierce battle. But no one would expect Matthew himself participated in the battle. That’s the chapter update so far”
The next few chapters confirmed Kassandra’s death alongside many of her men. This was the start of Luciel’s slow descent into madness.
“I hope she’s alright. I like her character” Alice suddenly started to worry since most of her favorite characters are getting killed off. Is the Author alright? did someone hurt them? Why are they killing so many characters?
“Knowing the author, it’s a fifty-fifty chance” Gideon continued and pinched his thigh to check if he was dreaming or not. It did not. His expression dropped a little but it’s nice to see Alice again even through a dream.
“I have a question for you Ally… What do you think of the prince?” He wasn’t sure if this dream Alice would even give him a proper question.
The person in front of him actually pondered about it for a moment. She kept making different facial expressions as she thought.
“I don’t know. For me at least, I just think that his life is kind of sad. Like he is heavily misunderstood and he never asked for any of the things that happened to him”
“But he did a lot of terrible things”
“I know and I’m not excusing his actions either. But you can’t really blame him when the only time people take you seriously is when you’re at your worst. He can’t obviously let himself get pushed around but he did take it too far with his whole revenge agenda”
It was well said. If you did consider everything in the novel, all Kaiden wanted was a normal life with a happy family and friends he can depend on. But both of those were either taken away or the opportunity disappeared.
Considering the way he’s feeling right now, Gideon suddenly asks;
“If he hurts you in some way, would you forgive him?”
“Well that depends on the severity of what he did and if he apologizes”
“let’s say he made you do something you hate but he sincerely apologizes for it”
“As long as it’s sincere and he promises to never do it again”
“Really?”
“really”
‘You’re too kind for this world Alice but at least I know that I raised you right’
“But still it’s a weird thing to be asking if I should forgive prince Kaiden if he hypothetically hurts me” Alice laughs and Gideon closes his eyes and nods.
“Thanks for answering, I heard what I needed to hear”
“Anytime” That was the last thing he heard when he suddenly woke up to his phone ringing.
Gideon grumbled and reached out for it to see that it was Amias calling him. He swiped the screen to accept the call.
“Hmm?” He was still in a daze so he couldn’t comprehend the fact that he did not say hello and instead hummed into the call.
“Good morning to you as well Gideon. I was wondering why you weren’t answering your door, turns out you’re still asleep”
“you’re downstairs?”
“yeah, and my ass is freezing out here”
Gideon suddenly dropped the call and made his way down to open the door. Amias had his hair braided today and he wore a scarf and turtle neck to warm his neck. But really it looked like he was desperately trying to hide those very obvious hickeys on his neck that peeks through when he stretches his neck to the side.
“Hey! I was going to ask if I could eat here but seeing you just got up, let’s just eat out. My treat!”
“Oh no it’s alright”
“I insist”
There was a saying that it would be rude to say no to free food especially when it’s being insisted. And that’s how they ended up driving downtown. Gideon wondered why they had to go so far since there were decent restaurants near his place anyways. But as it turns out, Amias had another agenda.
“We’ll head to Yohann’s favorite place. We’ll eat there and buy some take-out for him”
Gideon should have dressed more nicely if he knew that he was going to be meeting another person.
When the two arrived, the place was jammed packed with people. There were some people who were alone and hogging an entire table for themselves. Gideon offered to look for a seat while Amias ordered food for the two of them but he immediately refused.
“How would I know what you want and what you don’t want? Don’t worry about our table. I’ll be able to get us seats” He confidently smiled at Gideon as they waited for their turn to order.
They had a lot of offers on their menu but Amias managed to order with ease.
“I’ll just order the beefsteak with fries on the side and for the kid… uh what do you want Gideon?”
Gideon just went with the same order as Amias since he didn’t really know if the other dishes here are tasty.
“You sure? You can try their barbeque chicken as well”
“no, I think I’ll be fine with just one order”
“Alright, Anyways those are the orders we’ll be eating here. I’d like a separate order for the take-outs”
“Certainly, what will they be having?”
There was a mini menu on the countertop that allowed those with difficulty seeing the menu above to see what they served. Amias placed his finger and slid it across the list of dishes. It seems like both Gideon and the cashier were confused since Amias didn’t say anything else. That was until the manager noticed them.
“i-it’s you lord am-”
Amias shot him a look and made a “Shh” sound. It seems like Amias disliked people finding out he was one of the demon nobles. It’s not like he’s hiding his identity but it’s just common decency for people to let each other live their own lives unless the other person is asking for attention.
“Yes, it’s me. Is your cashier new here, Tim?” Amias asks the manager who was apparently called Tim.
“Yes, I’m terribly sorry. Let me take over first” he tells the cashier and he began ringing up the order.
“I’ll just clarify it’s still the same right? one of everything except for the desserts, drinks, and extras right?”
Gideon nearly choked upon hearing the order. Amias nodded and handed over what appears to be a black card. He had only seen those kinds of cards in movies but this one looked even more extra. Amias whispers that the card is only exclusive for the nobles, the prince, and the king.
The black card of black cards.
“I s-see” Gideon felt like he’ll cough out blood if he hears more about the extravagant life of these book characters.
“Do you need me to find you a table?” The manager asks and Amias glanced to the dining area. He smiled as if he saw something and looks back at the manager.
“No need for that”
“Ah…” The manager only smiles as well as he rang up everything and handed back the card to Amias. He also gave him two table numbers.
“Thanks, Timmy~” Amias winked at the manager who suddenly grumbled but it seems like his ears turned red a little.
The two of them walked around. There were really no tables available. Gideon was about to ask Amias if they can just have their food for takeaway. But the guy suddenly stopped in front of a table. There were two girls having a study session with food on the side.
“Hi, I know you two gorgeous ladies are busy with studying but unfortunately we can’t find a table… can you two be a sweetheart and let me and my good friend here share a table with you?”
The two girls suddenly froze up and the other girl tapped her friend if she minds it. The other girl leaned in and whispered “I mean… Look at him! would you not let him sit with us? He’s kinda cute…”. Amias only smiled brighter when he heard this but pretended to be unaware of what they are talking about.
“S-sure! We don’t mind sharing” one of the girls replied and scooted to make space for the two new guests. Amias placed their numbers on their tables and glanced at the schoolwork these two were working on. It seems like they were busy studying up the classifications of Angels and Demons.
“There’s a lot of people here lately which is good…” Amias notes to Gideon before turning to the girl next to him.. He’s not into flirting with minors but at most he’ll just act friendly with them so they won’t be as uncomfortable while the two waited for their food.
