I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain - Chapter 67
Lately, Theodora had not been home for a few days already. It started to worry Gideon given that they had yet to recover from the loss of a loved one. And thus, she may have been overexerting herself when she got sent back here to rest. He texted Amias if it was possible for him to contact Lady Kassandra and ask her to force his mother to come home.
A few moments passed and he had yet to receive a response from Amias. However, someone else messaged him that day. Upon checking, it was Eliam asking him if he had made up with his friend.
Gideon: I haven’t spoken to him since I kicked up out.
Eliam: Really? That’s unfortunate… 🙁 He hasn’t contacted you after that at all?
Kaiden had never contacted him afterward. And even Amias, who kept bugging him with surprise visits, did not have a single message from the prince. It was a weird feeling of guilt and perhaps longing since he had already gotten used to Kaiden asking him how his day went.
Gideon: No I was unsure if I should message him and if I did, what would I say?
It took a while for Eliam to respond and at the same time, a notification popped up that Amias has responded.
Eliam: In any case, I still feel like you two should settle this face to face rather than a message since you can still misinterpret words through text.
This was the second person who mentioned the phrase “face to face”. The first person, being Amias, was asking if Kaiden were to apologize sincerely then would he be able to face him? Now Eliam is suggesting that if he planned on apologizing, he should do it in person. They both had their own points. Would he be able to face Kaiden and apologize?
He then suddenly remembered the dream he had the other day about his sister. How that person would be able to forgive Kaiden despite knowing his character in the original story. Of course, she did say that it would depend on the severity of his mistake but in this case, Kaiden didn’t do it directly himself. It was more like a manifestation of Gideon’s fears.
He got around to checking Amias’ text and saw what he replied.
Amias: SLR! I got busy lately thanks to the situation here in the palace. In any case, I won’t be able to actually meet up with Kassandra since she’s also busy herself. If you want, I can just have someone pick you up and you can bring your mom home yourself. How does that sound?
He also sent an emoji sticker where the rabbit was laying on the floor deflated and it was wriggling to show life.
Gideon thought about it.
“Going to the palace…” He mumbled to himself.
If he went there, he’s bound to see Kaiden. If he saw him then maybe that guilt and longing he felt would go away. And he’d be able to apologize and ask Kaiden if it would be alright that they still stay in this situation of not talking to one another for a little while longer without any ill-meaning behind it.
And so he began to reply to the two he left on read.
To Amias: Is that so? it’s alright and if it is ok for me to go there then sure. I’ll wait for your reply.
To Eliam: Thank you for your advice, I’ll do that. I actually plan on going there today.
Gideon was determined to get himself together and this was the start of it!

“Interesting…” Eliam covered his chin with his phone as he thought about Gideon’s plan.
Who knew that the kid would move this quickly? Well, he did manipulate his dreams a lot.
“Although I don’t really want to do that”
Eliam glanced to his side, Arda had frowned and immediately looks in his direction only to see nothing. Eliam had already disappeared from that spot. He had been following Arda and making sure this mission of hers goes smoothly.
“But I suppose he does need a little push”

“Gideon agreed to come to the palace today” Amias glances at Kaiden who almost dropped his mug of coffee upon hearing those words.
“Today?” He placed the mug on the table before he breaks it by accident.
“No, tomorrow- OF COURSE TODAY. Anyways… What exactly am I doing here again? I thought Luciel called for me and not you”
“Oh he did, he just personally picked up someone. He should be back by-” The door opens “now”
Luciel entered the room with Damien and behind them were followed by Azazel and Kassandra. Amias pursed his lips upon seeing the three people he had been avoiding for a while now.
“Welcome back to the Capital” Amias greeted his friend out of obligation. Damien frowned a little bit before replying thanks.
“Unfortunately Arda is still out and I have no plans of putting Yohann back on the job” Luciel suddenly spoke up.
“Kaiden, would you like to lead today’s meeting?”
Kaiden, who was still thinking about Gideon, couldn’t help but sigh since this is still part of his agreement.
“In any case, I’d just like to have Amias arrange something first regarding a private affair”
“Granted, Amias do what you need to do first”
“Ah it’s not much, I’d just like to borrow one of Damien’s men. Specifically, Alexander Eicher” Amias bowed down to Luciel and Damien suddenly whipped his head to Amias’ direction.
“What do you need him for?”
“Damien. It’s a private affair of my son. Once again, just do whatever Amias since we have to start”
Damien did not push it anymore and had let Amias walk out of the room to arrange for the pick-up.
“Anyways! Let us start, prince” Luciel clasped his hand.

It’s been a while since Amias’ last response that there should be someone on their way to pick him up now. To be honest, Gideon could have just gone there himself via commute or his scooter but he didn’t know how to refuse Amias since he was already bothering him when he’s busy.
“I should probably make it up somehow to Amias for being too nice” Gideon muttered to himself.
Suddenly someone rang the doorbell. Gideon yelled out to say that he will be there soon and finished double-checking the entire place to make sure it was locked. He put on his gloves, coat, and wrapped a scarf to his neck to make sure he doesn’t freeze up. Upon opening the door, a pleasant surprise greeted him.
“Alex!” Gideon beamed and Alexander bowed his head a little bit.
“Hey, I’m here on behalf of Lord Amias to pick you up”
Who said Amias was unreliable when he was able to get one of Gideon’s trusted people here? Alex guided Gideon into his car and started driving to their destination.
“I’ll really thank him later once I get there”
“If you can, currently all of the present demon nobles, as well as the king and prince, are having a meeting since the Frost Division had returned”
“Frost Division?” Gideon asks since he had no idea about their rankings and such. All he knew was that the nobles had their own divisions but not the names of said divisions.
“Lord Damien’s Division, where I’m from” In fact, he was one of the 6 captains.
“I see, I only knew that there were divisions but not the names”
“Ah well, it’s not that important for civilians to remember those things so I didn’t expect much”
“Why shouldn’t it be important? You guys are keeping us safe. You deserve recognition.” Gideon argued and Alex couldn’t help but smile. When there was a stop sign, he reached out to ruffle Gideon’s hair.
“H-Hey!” Gideon pushed away Alexander’s hand.
“I’ve been meaning to do that since I saw you. And thanks for thinking that way”
Gideon was more than a kid that his mom used to check upon. He was a friend who was close to being his brother. He’d always think that if his sister wanted to date someone, it should be someone like Gideon or better yet… Gideon himself. But of course, that’s just his wishful thinking.
The two arrived in the Palace in a little bit and Alexander got called by another soldier who had been expecting him by the parking area.
“Talk to me” Alexander tells this person and Gideon followed behind Alexander.
“Lord Damien asked us to cooperate with Lady Kassandra’s team to see their improvement if they can replace the remaining men up north”
“Noted. Go up ahead, I’ll follow after” The other soldier disappeared and Alex turned to Gideon.
“I’m assuming that their meeting had already ended. You wanted to meet with Lord Amias right? He should be by Baphomet Building which is the main one that has the Library connected to the nearby Ballroom. You can ask one of the guards stationed there to take you to him and if no one takes you seriously just mention “Alexander Eicher, 1st Captain of the Frost Division” or Miss Theodora’s position”
“I’ll keep that in mind thank you”
“No problem, just give me a call if there’s an issue”
Gideon watched Alexander rush to the barracks area and thus he took a deep breath in before heading over to his impending doom.
