I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain - Chapter 85
No words can express how happy Kaiden was on his way back to his home. He kept replaying those words in his head
“Sure… we could date”
Kaiden’s smile became wider. If a person saw his face, they would be freaked out with how creepy he looks just now.
When he finally arrived back at the palace, the first person he was going to greet was Azazel to rub it in his face
“HA! GIDEON LIKES ME”
But he was instantly greeted by several people running here and there. Clearly, there wasn’t any reason for them to panic like this. It just made him wonder that he pulled one person to the side.
“M-My Prince!” The male servant yelped in surprise.
“What’s going on?”
The servant gulped and breathed in to calm himself.
“The king called for the preparation of a meeting as well as…” the servant wasn’t sure if he should be the one to tell the prince about it but the prince was holding onto him quite tightly that he had no choice but to answer in a quiet manner. “The possibility of a huge scale attack”
Kaiden’s eyes widened. It was only recently that Matthew launched a surprise attack towards them but isn’t it too soon? Are they that confident that they will attack once again?
“I am not sure of the entirety of the order. I was just tasked to pass on the word to prepare for a meeting with a special guest”
“A guest?”
The servant nodded and when Kaiden inquired who the guest was, the servant told him that he had no idea but he needed to prepare lavishly according to the king. Kaiden finally lets the servant off and the man is finally able to breathe.
Kaiden made his way to meet with his father directly to ask about the situation. Prepare for the possibility of a huge scale attack but also prepare lavishly for a surprise guest? Is this some kind of joke? The prince didn’t bother knocking on the door and entered his father’s office.
Luciel was talking to Arda, who was kneeling down on the floor. Her cheek had a large bruise and Kaiden could already tell that Arda got slapped. Earlier today, Arda returned under Luciel’s orders. Kaiden didn’t think much of it when Kassandra immediately left when she returned and only left to meet with Gideon but who would have thought the situation would turn out like this.
“Kaiden, I thought I told you to knock when you’re entering my office?”
“I just got back from going out with Yohann…” Kaiden didn’t dare to bring up Gideon at this moment. It would only bring harm to his future lover.
“I got your message earlier but I wasn’t able to respond. I hope that Yohann is well?”
Even though that sentence was that of a worried person, Luciel’s expression and voice had no trace of worry. In fact, it was so icy that even Kaiden felt some pressure from his own father who he always stood up against. Maybe it’s because he didn’t expect that he’d see the day Luciel would punish one of his men since they’re all competent.
“Y-yes, He is doing well and resting now”
“That’s good. Now, can I ask what you want for you to suddenly barge in here?”
“I just wanted to ask regarding the current situation since everyone outside seems to be in a rush”
Luciel looked at his son as if he was debating whether or not he should talk about this with him now. But Kaiden will eventually take over his position when he decides to rest, it would be better if he experience hardships now so that something similar can be avoided in the future.
“I’m sure that even prior to the education you’ve received when you went to me… You’ve heard of El at least once in your life. Am I correct?”
That name, although it wasn’t mentioned all of the time it was known by everyone. El was once the leader of both Angels and Demons. He was like a supreme being that you can’t even categorize into any of the races. If the humans worshiped the Angels and Demons by calling them gods then El would be the god for both Angels and Demons. But one day, there were some unforeseen events that occurred. El no longer dealt with matters personally and you could say that he gave them freedom of choice.
Demons and other creatures like Humans started to act more like themselves and the Angels who remained true to El’s original wishes opposed those who went against it. El, who got tired of them arguing and no longer heeding to his words, disappeared without a trace.
‘And that led to my own mother’s demise because they blamed her for having done or said something because she was the last person to speak with him…’
“Yes, I know of him. Very much since Aunt Valerie talked about the history and how things ended up like they are right now”
Not really. He had to find that out for himself the moment he stepped foot in this place. Valerie only told him that Gabriella was a pacifist and as much as possible she wanted to attain equality for everyone.
“And for that, I’ll thank Valerie once again for taking care of you. But going back on topic, he has returned” Luciel sat down on his chair and didn’t even offer for Arda to take a seat or dismissed her. She must have done something to receive such punishment but then again this was a light punishment for their kind.
“He has returned? How did you find out?”
“I didn’t, she did. And the reason how is that she went against her promise to never use her powers unless necessary” Luciel explains and Arda lowered her head. She knew that she was in the wrong and Luciel was angry for her sake.
Kaiden knew of Arda’s situation and could now better understand why his father was pissed. He won’t put his nose in matters that he isn’t involved in.
“I see… Is that why you’re preparing for a meeting?”
“That is the reason. To be honest, El could be here without me knowing” Luciel leaned back on his chair and stared at the ceiling before loudly exclaiming “Because that’s how omnipotent he is. Am I right? You don’t have to answer since I already know you’re just laughing your ass off watching me complain about you”
Kaiden didn’t know how to respond to this. Is that how powerful El was? And another note, he knew that his father was carefree sometimes but this was just another level. His father acted like a rebellious child.
“It’s seriously annoying how he could have done something to prevent everything” Luciel closed his eyes and breathed in before opening his eyes once again to look at Kaiden. “But then again if he did prevent it, then you wouldn’t be here so I’m kind of glad that he didn’t do anything”
Kaiden was surprised by Luciel’s words. He would have expected that Luciel would miss his mother more than he cared about him. He couldn’t help but feel… warm? Honestly speaking maybe this is just something he had been waiting for his entire life. His father stopped mentioning his mother and noticed him for being him.
“I see…” Kaiden murmured and Luciel didn’t press on the issue any further.
“Another thing why everyone was in a rush is because Arda got a heads up from El. I already sent Kassandra out but I told her to leave the recuperating soldiers here, for now, to avoid the situation from last time. It seems like El is on our side” Luciel says and Arda nodded from the side to confirm everything he just said.
“I’ll be discussing again with the others on the movement of Matthew and how he might not be the only one with the ability to control those things.”
‘Perhaps I’m not the only one with a kid…’ This thought is constantly haunting Luciel whenever that rumor of another person being able to talk to those creatures pops up in their discussions.
But in the event that it was true… Who is his kid? That psychopath who was obsessed with Gabriella, just who was able to seduce him?
“That pretty much summarizes the issues we have right now, do you have anything else to ask?”
“Regarding the issues? none. But I’d like to request for Lord Yohann to return here”
The request made Luciel wonder what was going in his son’s head to request that. Especially when Kassandra insisted that Yohann still needs to recover and it seems like there was no chance of him being able to use his powers as he did in the past. Even Arda was confused about it that she was the one who asked in Luciel’s stead.
“Kassandra insisted that Yohann should recover first before doing anything and besides that, he won’t be able to do anything without his powers”
“Lady Arda, Father… Yohann seems to be fully recovered already. Although we cannot actually determine if he could use his powers or not, I could personally vouch that he could still be of use to us and it would greatly benefit him as well”
“How?”
“Yohann got to speak more when he kept forcing himself to interact with me, a person who traumatized him. I know it sounds terrible but after that, he no longer shook when he was interacting with me. It seems like he was also gaining his memories back slowly which is why he was able to stand me now”
“Kassandra didn’t mention about him gaining back his memories…” Luciel spoke out. It seems like Kassandra was now trying to hide her brother to prevent anything from happening again. Even to the point of lying about his condition. “Fine, I’ll grant your request but if you’re wrong then I’ll have to punish you for endangering one of my men”
“Yes, I will accept that”
“Good. Tomorrow I’ll have him brought here during the meeting, you may leave now”
