I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain - Chapter 89
Kaiden had snuck out on the day that his father planned on summoning El. What good would there be if he stayed there? Especially after confirming with Amias that it was El who bothered Gideon.
‘I need to be with Gideon in case he does something’
That is what he thought and because of his surprise visit. He actually had to stay some distance away from Gideon’s place. It was still bothersome that Gideon lives with Theodora. Maybe once they’re deeper into their relationship, he’ll bring up the idea of moving out of their current homes and just live together. He rang Gideon’s phone and waited for him to pick it up.
“Hello?” Kaiden hesitantly greets the person on the other end. He has to make sure it’s Gideon he’s talking about before he blabbers about being nearby.
“Hey. Why are you suddenly calling? Aren’t you busy around these hours?” it was confirmed that it is Gideon on the other side of the call. But still, maybe Theodora was listening to them.
“Is Theodora there?”
“Oh no, she’s back at the palace training the new recruits- wait, don’t tell me you’re coming over?”
“Can’t I?”
There were some indistinguishable noises on the other end of the call. But before Kaiden could ask if Gideon was ok, the other person caught his breath as if he was in a rush.
“Sorry, I almost dropped the box I was carrying. Um, I don’t think it’s suitable right now because the place is a mess. We’re putting away some of dad’s things and keeping a few items as memorabilia” Gideon laughed as he lowered the box that he was carrying just now. The box contained some of Stephen’s clothes since he and Theodora agreed on putting things away little by little so she could cope and eventually move on. Kaiden was kind of quiet on the other end which made Gideon check if the call was still there.
“Kaiden?”
“I’m here, just thinking of something. Wanna sneak out?”
“S-sneak out?”
What were they? Teenagers?
“Yeah, let’s go anywhere you want to go. I’ll wait in front of your place”
“Kai-” The call ended and Gideon couldn’t help but sigh. Although they are officially dating, it’s still all too fast for him. Gideon ended up texting Kaiden to wait a few minutes as he changed into more proper clothes and got out.
Kaiden had a face mask and a cap on as he leaned his back on his car as he waited for Gideon outside. When he looked up at Gideon, you could tell he was smiling ear to ear.
“Hey Deon”
Kaiden was now able to confidently call Gideon by his old nickname and the latter felt flustered a little.
“Hey Kaiden”
“Let’s go?” Kaiden opened the door for Gideon and waited for him to go inside.
Gideon got in the car and Kaiden went around to hop in the Driver’s side. He took off the mask and hat.
“Where off to? We already went to the Arcade and hung out in a fancy restaurant. Then we also went to the food district but I don’t really want to consider that as part of our experience since we had Yohann with us at that time” Kaiden recalled the last time they went out and Gideon did realize that they went to a lot of places.
Almost all of his firsts were with Kaiden and it’s a bit thrilling. He never got greedy and just went with the flow, heck he’ll prefer the easier and cheaper option. But right now, Kaiden was giving him a chance to do whatever he wants without consequences.
“Let’s just… go to a park”
“Really?”
Gideon nodded and Kaiden took out his phone to look for a place.
“What kind of park?” Kaiden asks.
“A regu- um.. Surprise me” Gideon paused when he was going to say a regular park because he realized he wouldn’t even know what to do there with Kaiden. The prince only raised his eyebrow and shrugged.
“Alright” was the last thing he said before he started driving.
The drive was not so quiet. The two would talk about the things that happened to them recently as well as play some games such as “I spy with my eye” whenever they were at an intersection waiting for the red light to turn green. When Kaiden announced that the two of them had arrived, Gideon was surprised that Kaiden took the time to drive this far just for this.
“I thought I said a park, I didn’t mean an amusement park”
“Why? I thought you said we were young anyways so let’s act like it or… you don’t want to be here?”
Gideon went to a similar place back then with his classmates but he never enjoyed it because he kept reminiscing about his old life. He and his sister would go to an amusement park when he got a salary bonus by the end of the year and even though they’ve gone numerous times there, the experience just reminds them of home and the time when their family was complete.
“I did say that and I also told you to surprise me”
But he really has to let go if he wants to stop hurting.
Even if he already lived a life before, in this life, he should enjoy it. Even if he had already gone there before, he’ll consider this as his first time having fun.
“What about your appearance?” Gideon asks Kaiden since he would look really suspicious if he had gone out in a mask and cap like usual.
“You’ll just have to deal with it then since, I don’t want any more rumors of me dating anyone else besides you”
Gideon blushed when Kaiden said that and turned to unbuckle his seatbelt and open the door.
“Shut up” Gideon tells Kaiden as he shuts the door closed when he gets out, cutting off the laughter coming from Kaiden.
“That guy really…” he muttered to himself and Kaiden got out of the car with only his cap.
“I’ll take it off once we’re at the ticket booth. That way we don’t get swarmed immediately” Kaiden was still smiling, it seems like he has not moved on from seeing Gideon’s flustered face.
“Fine, let’s just get going” Gideon’s cheeks were sort of puffing up in annoyance and he started walking away.
Kaiden locks the car and catches up with Gideon. He sneakily grabbed Gideon’s hand and Gideon paused for a moment. The prince was actually expecting another violent reaction from Gideon but to his surprise, the other person actually squeezed his hand back. This alone was enough for Kaiden to feel flustered and suddenly shut up. Gideon won that round, he’ll give him that.
When they arrived at the entrance, the cashier had to do a double-take to make sure it was actually the prince in front of him. Although the cashier insisted that they should just enter for free, Kaiden still paid for the fees before getting the wristbands.
“Here’s yours”
Kaiden handed Gideon the other wristband and even helped him put it on. The people from the side, like the cashier, did a double-take and realized it was the prince.
“Are you sure about this?”
Gideon kept noticing the stares that Kaiden was getting. He was just a little bit concerned if Kaiden would suffer consequences for his rash actions.
“It’ll be fine. I still have the right to have fun when I want to” Kaiden tilted his head to the side to motion that they should head in. Gideon didn’t dare to take Kaiden’s hand right now in the heated eyes of the public. Kaiden didn’t force him and just let him be but he would ask what they wanted to do first.
“I um..”
“Deon?”
“Yes- Ah?”
Kaiden covered his eyes for a moment and whispered; “Don’t mind their stares”
“I’m just worried”
“If you mind it that much, do you want me to make them look away?”
“Don’t do anything rash, Kaiden”
“Then would you stop worrying too much? like I said, it’ll be fine” Kaiden took off his hand and Gideon’s eyes had to readjust themselves.
“Just look at me and the things you want. If you want something, just tell me. If something bothers you, tell me as well. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable” Kaiden pinched Gideon’s cheek and smiled.
This gained some “aww” and gasps from the small audience that they had garnered just for standing close to the entrance. Of course, there are some negative reactions but Kaiden’s voice seems to be drowning them out.
“Now, let’s get out of here before security scolds us. I may be the prince but I still don’t want to talk to anyone else besides you” Kaiden ushered Gideon away into the amusement park.
“Don’t rush!”
Kaiden only laughed as a response before adding “Let’s have fun Deon!”
Who knows what kind of magic spell Kaiden used on him but Gideon seems to have forgotten that there were other people around them.
