I Was Forced To Marry The Enemy - Chapter 48
~KYOMI~
When I was done using the bathroom, Dante was already gone. I was thankful for that for I wasn’t ready for another encounter with him.
Thankfully I’d remembered how to return to the living room as well, for Dante’s house was just as huge as ours, maybe even a bit larger.
As I entered the room the first thing I noticed was that Dante was nowhere to be seen.
“Where is Dante?” I asked, unable to stop myself.
“He just left sweetie, he said he got an important call and had to leave.” His mother answered me. “Have a seat, lets continue with the planning.”
“So we would announce that Kyomi and Dante have been secretly engaged for a long while now and that we were just waiting for the right opportunity to let the public know.” Kevlar said while my father nodded in agreement.
“All of this can be done this Sunday, I’ll organize a party without letting anyone know what it’s about. When they attend we shall make the announcement, the news would surely spread quickly… The wedding will be held the following Saturday.” My father added.
My wedding was only a week away?
“Father.” I cut in. “Does it have to be so soon?”
My father shut me an angry glare and I quickly looked away. “It’s already set, there is nothing to discuss on this matter again.”
Dante’s mother cleared her throat. “Would anyone like something to drink?” She pleasantly asked.
I quietly shook my head, unable to speak. I was afraid that if I tried to say something I would end up crying. I didn’t need to embarrass myself anymore than I’d already done.
“It’s alright, I think that we should head home now. There really isn’t anything else to discuss.” My father answered. “Besides, I have a lot of preparations to make now.”
“I want the wedding to be at my house.” Kevlar finally announced, his words caused my father to freeze.
“What did you say?” He asked.
“I want the wedding to be held here.” Dante’s father repeated for my father’s sake.
“No, I think it should be held at my home. How many friends and family from my side do you think would actually attend knowing that you were the one hosting it?” My father demanded.
Kevlar rose up from the sofa and placed his hands behind his back. “Does that really matter Dominic? This isn’t even a wedding that you really want, who cares if your side doesn’t attend because of who I am? We’re doing this under my terms, the wedding will be held here. The engagement party is already at your home, it’s only fair that the wedding will be held at my home.” He said. “Besides, I’ve seen your backyard in pictures, mine is way more equipped to host a wedding.”
My father clenched his jaw hard. “If that’s what you want then so be it.” My father finally gave in, the look on his face however showed how unhappy he was about this arrangement.
“If that’s all, I’ll be leaving now.” He added as he motioned for my mother and I to follow him out.
This was it.
I was really getting married to Dante Clarke… my family’s enemy!
