I Was Forced To Marry The Enemy - Chapter 74
This was even worse than being at home. Dante and I were all alone, just us. It was already hard when I stayed in the same house with him and his family. How was I about to survive this?
I crossed my arms over my ċhėst, the satin lingerie showing off way more skin than I was used too. I was in the process of searching through the drawers in the bathroom in hope of finding a bathrobe when Dante barged in.
He was about to say something but paused the moment his eyes fell on my body. The look on his face was heated as he shamelessly eyed me down from head to toe, taking his dead time in doing so.
For a moment, all I could do was watch him as he watched me. I always loved the way he looked at me, Dante always made me feel wanted . . . That was until he hurt me.
I needed to stop this before I did something stupid again.
“Do you have a bathrobe?” I asked, trying to hide my body from him. It was no use however, any direction I turned only made it worse for myself.
His eyes snapped up to my face at my question and before I had time to react he was already approaching me. He leaned into me, his scent consuming all of my senses.
He reached above me and opened one of the drawers that I couldn’t previously reach.
After a few minutes he pulled back to look at me once more. “There isn’t any, I’m sorry.”
Even though he said the words, he didn’t actually seem to be so sorry about it. In fact, I was positive he was enjoying the sight.
I was tempted, the part of me that was all soft for Dante just didn’t want to give up on the opportunity. However, I’d promised myself that I wouldn’t continue to fall for him anymore that I’d already have. If I did so and he hurt me again, it would mean that I looked for it this time.
“No, I don’t want to. Remember what I said to you before . . . Stay away from me, that’s what I want you to do for me.” I snapped, the hurt in his eyes was hard for me to look at and I quickly looked away.
“Kyomi?” He tried once more. “Will you just give me the chance to talk to you this once, please?”
I shook my head as I held my ground. “I would like to be alone Dante.”
I jumped as I heard him punch something nearby before closing the door behind him.
I took a deep breath and slowly turned around to see that he was indeed gone.
That was hard to do and this was only just the beginning.
Would I be strong enough to refuse him if he persisted more than that?
I squeezed my head and laid down onto the bed, pulling the sheets over my body. My mind replayed the way Dante had looked at me, with strong masculine dėsɨrė. He looked at me as though he was the predator and I was the prey. Even now, my skin still burned from the intensity of his gaze. He always had that way about him, that irresistible pull. It was like there was some hidden switch in me that turned on whenever he was around. A switch I wished I could just get rid off.
I buried my head against the pillow and fought the urge to let out a frustrated scream. This was only the first night, in fact the night here hadn’t even started properly yet. I wasn’t sleepy and I was sure Dante wasn’t either. I was right all along, this whole honeymoon was only going to be a disaster!
Suddenly, a loud sound broke through the quiet night. I raised up from the bed instantly, my heart racing.
Was that a gunshot?
Within seconds of the loud sound, my room door flew open and Dante rushed in. Before I had time to process what he was doing he had already gripped me by my waist and lifted me into the air before placing me back down onto the ground.
“W-what’s going on?” I asked, unable to hide the panic in my voice.
“No time for any explanation.” He replied, “here take this.” He said as he lifted his shirt off his body and shoved it over mine. His scent was all over the shirt making me extremely dizzy. Not to mention that he was now completely shirtless and right there in front of me!
He grabbed my hand in his and ran towards one of the furthest rooms down the hallway. He pushed open the door and locked it as soon as we were inside. Next, he was searching all of the drawers, leaving all of them open.
What exactly was he looking for?
He seemed to press something for suddenly there was an opening, the large wardrobe had somehow split in half.
He let go of my hand but only to pick out a gun and some bullets.
Oh My God.
What the hell was happening?
Another gunshot pierced through the air and Dante pushed me up against the wall and covered my mouth with his hand before a scream could escape me. “Shhh,” he whispered. “You can’t let them know exactly where we are, we need the extra time to run.”
“Do you understand?” he asked, his face full of concern.
I nodded my head and he slowly let go. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and handed it to me. “Speed dial number five, it would connect you to Hugo. Let him know that we’re under attack and most of our guards are down.”
The guards were down?
Oh God.
Did that mean it was just Dante and I against whoever was trying to kill us?
