~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s December 1st now.
The last portion of the year went by more quickly due to the preparation for the test. Two weeks ago the exam happened. Now today is the announcement day on who passed and who did not.
We are in my room which is also my sisters room. My grandparents and my father are in our room with the phone nearby, waiting to listen to hear who passed or failed.While my father is trying to play with us.
“I wonder if I passed. . . .”
“What if I fail. . ..”
“I can get angry right?. . .”
The pressure is getting to my sisters. They are really anxious and preparing for the worst.
The anxiety spread and is really disturbing our playtime. . . . Why aren’t they trying to calm them? They are cowering together.
“How about this restaurant for the acceptance party?”
“Well. . . I think this one is better however.”
“Surely that looks good. But can we make a reservation for it in time?”
“If you give out the name Nishi Yotsutsuji we’ll be able to manage a reservation. I’ll contact them.”
Opposite to them the adults were discussing the acceptance celebration party. With calm faces, like they don’t even consider the possibility of rejection.
The conversation is so nonchalant and every time the word “acceptance celebration” is said it makes my sisters tremble.
And yet despite that they are still just talking about it with no worries. It appears that the adults aren’t aware of the pressure they are putting on my sisters.
Not only does it seem that the Nishi Yotsutsuji family is slack at times, they are also inconsiderate of their surroundings.
“Dad, please talk quietly about that stuff right now. Asahi and them are being consumed by the pressure.”
“Eh?. . . .Oh. Sorry.”
With my light request, the meaning of it was quickly recognized by my father. After that their conversation went into a more hush tone. Becoming a faint noise.
Although it might not be enough to soothe their worrying, I told my sisters”I am sure it will be just fine.” and then plopped down on the sofa.
I don’t think there is even a possibility of me failing.I should have near perfect scores. My interview was perfect.
. . . . .But still my heart is full of anxiety. I am not immune.
. . . . What would happen if one or more of my sisters fail. What would happen?Is it still okay if only three or two people go but one person fails. How would she feel?
Our parents are looking at this as if there is no possibility of failing but it can’t be zero.If there is a chance it has to be thought of.
We were always together. To the level of which we are dependent on each other.What would happen if one of us is pulled away from each other. It’s easy to imagine.
Actually it may be a bit early, but I need to become more independent from my older sisters and encourage my younger sister to be more as well. We at least can’t start crying if we’re in a different class.
I was looking with chilled eyes while thinking about such things.
Just watching the clock move quietly.Watching the hands of the clock move across the numbers. Thinking about my worries.
We’ll find out whether or not we pass or fail soon. . .
I am kind of nervous just thinking about it.
Fuu~ lightly breathe out and close my eyes. To shut myself out from the physical world just a bit, it will make me be able to calm down a bit.Its a technique I learned to help deal with my old job.
When I opened my eyes the hand of the clock hit twelve.
Eventually We heard clattering footsteps and busy footsteps outside of the room.
My sisters and even my father and them stopped talking and gazed at the door.
Bang*
The door opened quickly with a noise that reminded me of the noise when my brother runs into the room.
Haa* Haa *
My mother was heavily breathing. She glanced around the room and looked at us. She slowly approached us while raising one hand.
“Asahi,Mahiru, Yuudachi and Yoru. . . .All of you tried hard. And you have all successfully passed!!”
“. . . . . . .We passed.Yes!!”
Once they understood what was just told. Tears of relief appeared in my sisters’ eyes.
Thus we have been confirmed to attend Shirayuki Academy which has a prestigious elementary section.
