I Was The Real Owner of Elheim - Chapter 66
Michael opened the door to his room.
“Well, this is my room.”
Neither of them paid attention to Walter’s astonishment.
Michael’s room was also in a fairly unusual place in the main building.
“What do you think?”
When Michael asked her, she immediately replied that she’d like to go to his room, but she didn’t know why she wanted to see Michael’s room. (tl/n: from his question in the previous chapter.)
There was a chandelier adorned with diamond decorations on the ceiling.
Liarte watched as the diamonds broke the sunlight like a prism.
It was a beautiful sight that made her think about drawing it.
“Amazing isn’t it?”
Michael approached her as she stared at the chandelier.
“I’ve never seen real diamonds before.”
“I’ve never seen someone recognize a genuine gem from a fake one.”
Michael laughed out loud.
Liarte’s skills continued to improve as she drew and learned more things.
Half of the room was lit brightly, while the other half was dark.
“People don’t usually use diamonds because they’re afraid that they’ll burn things when they’re hit with sunlight, right?”
“Yep.”
A room with no one else in it.
The subtle flow of air was probably because of Michael’s overflowing cold emotion.
‘How cute.’
It was so lovely that she couldn’t take her eyes off the diamonds.
“Michael, I want to paint this chandelier later.”
Liarte said as she looked up at Michael in the glimmering light. He laughed softly.
“Come here and draw anytime, I’ll be waiting.”
Of course, he didn’t invite Liarte with sinister intentions.
Still, Carmen, Aaron, Merlin, and even Walter were constantly disturbed.
It is early summer now.
The warmth in his heart was still growing like this season.
‘I want to hug you.’
As it was a hot season, Liarte’s dress was thinner than usual.
Looking away from her exposed shoulders, Michael refrained himself from his impulses.
When their eyes met, Liarte asked him.
“Can I hug you?”
“What?”
“I thought you wanted to.”
She then opened her arms and clumsily hugged him.
“And I thought I wanted it too.”
She whispered, putting her forehead gently on Michael’s chest.
This sweet early summer afternoon felt like a dream.
It felt nice as Liarte leaned on Michael, but at the same time, he was anxious.
‘How could I have this?’
Originally, Birce was obsessed with people they consider their own.
Michael looked down at Liarte with a strong desire for possession.
He wanted to have everything.
The moments they chatted, her occasional smile, and even the gaze that looked back at him.
He hoped to have them all to his own.
Just as Liarte had every moment and everything Michael had.
“Liarte.”
Her long hair had not only a refreshing scent but also a faint scent of perfume.
“What do you think of me?”
Liarte wouldn’t be able to understand Michael’s intentions enough to say good things.
Surprisingly, she didn’t answer easily.
“I don’t know…”
He saw she was pondering his question.
‘What do I think of Michael?’
Just liking him was already different from how she normally treated other people.
However, it did not go any further than there.
It was not a lie to say that her most favorite person in the world at the moment was Michael.
If it weren’t for him, she would have lived a random boring life after leaving Elheim.
Or was it because she felt a deep boredom with life, as if she was already dead, that only the promise Michael made to Liarte made her think to live a little longer?
“You said you’d see me again the day after when I was still in Elheim.”
Michael recalled what he said.
“Yes, I did.”
‘See you tomorrow’ was just a common word.
He said that because he wanted to capture the owner of that refreshing scent.
“That’s when I thought that I wanted to live a little longer.”
She thought she would be able to lift Michael’s curse tomorrow.
She thought she’d have to heal his pain if they met again.
It reminded her of what to do or at least what to do at midnight the day after.
“You’re the man who made me know that there was still a tomorrow, and the future. It made me want to live.”
Because of Michael, Liarte could think of a different ending than before her regression.
She was also able to make bold decisions to change the future.
“You’ve turned my life upside down.”
Liarte was always frank and straightforward.
Those honest words made Michael think that she was adorable.
“So you are precious to me, Michael.”
It was poorly expressed, but it was enough to understand.
However, it was not a completely satisfying answer for Michael.
“I’m very happy, Liarte.”
Michael hugged her, then he put his lips on her smooth cheek.
A little further down was her white neckline. He resisted the urge to slide down.
“But I don’t just do this with friends.”
He whispered lowly in Liarte’s ear. She was startled at his low voice.
He remembered what happened before he knew Liarte.
Even at a wedding or a social event, Michael never kissed the back of another person’s hand or kissed their cheek.
Liarte was the only person whom he approached.
“So your feelings for me and my feelings for you are very different, Liarte.”
Can’t he just completely enchant Liarte before anyone else shows up?
He couldn’t imagine sending her off to someplace else.
If Liarte was to abandon Birce, Michael would gladly abandon all of his duties as a Birce.
‘I don’t just do this with friends.’
His words echoed in Liarte’s mind.
It was the same for her, too. (tl/n: maybe because she doesn’t have friends. char)
If she had only considered him as a friend, she would not have approached him in the first place, or hugged him or kissed him on the cheek.
She didn’t know if it’s because of the summer, but somehow she could feel the heat.
She felt a little hot and dizzy.
“I don’t think of you as a friend.”
At last, Liarte uttered her thoughts.
“I never thought we were friends, but I don’t know how I feel about you yet.” (e/n: let me help you, it’s called the L word 😍)
Honestly, that was enough for Michael. (e/n: noooo seduce her more >_<)
However, in her mind, a ripple effect had already occurred.
‘What if we were not friends?’
She even forgot to listen to what Michael thought of her.
“If you dig deeper, would an answer come out?”
Michael’s feelings were too strong to just leave Liarte alone.
He seduced her in hopes of her giving him a more definitive answer.
The devil whispered captivatingly, as if to enchant someone.
“It’s never a bad feeling.”
He had a close relationship with Liarte. They were so close that it wouldn’t seem strange if they kissed.
It was a breathtaking distance.
They were this close when she was treating his curse, but it was at this moment that she became aware of their distance.
“What do you think, Liarte?”
Michael said gently.
Half of the room was lit brightly with sunlight, with the other half in the shadows.
The place where Michael and Liarte stood in embrace showed their shadow seemingly as one.
His feelings have already become so firm that he wouldn’t regret anything.
It was then…

The Duke’s carriage was surrounded by the Emperor’s knights, making it impossible to escape.
Of course, even if their powers were strong enough, it was still a situation where they could not easily escape.
“What’s the matter, Duke?”
The Emperor spoke, slowly walking towards the carriage.
“Is it difficult? It should be very easy for the Duke. You just have to get off that carriage. You don’t have to put the fire out in the palace, just show your abilities off.”
In front of all these knights. There were also many knights planted by Empress Talesia and the Crown Prince in the Imperial Order.
“Hurry up.”
The Emperor continued as if he had read the Duke’s mind, who was driven into a corner.
“Are you really talking like this?”
The Emperor didn’t seem to know yet that Elheim had lost their Power of Water.
However, when the Duke of Elheim said he would not put the fire out, he was suspicious.
The Emperor was guessing that there was a problem with their Power of Water.
The Duke staggered at the Emperor’s gesture and whispered to his sons.
“Let’s get off.”
There was no problem with using the Power of Water.
However, if they use it too much, they’d become unawakeners in the middle of trying to do what the Emperor wants them to do.
The Emperor was never a fool since he was able to live under the pressure of the Empress and The Crown Prince.
Right now, he must have been thinking that Elheim’s reluctance in performing was due to their abilities.
The four men of Elheim got out of the carriage.
Aynias looked around nervously, unable to hide his anxiety.
“What and how can we demonstrate the power of water?”
Asked the Duke with quivering lips.
The Emperor pointed his finger to a small burning greenhouse.
“That little greenhouse has nothing to do with the crown prince, so put that fire out.”
That little fire alone consumed a considerable amount of the Duke’s power.
The fire would have been several times larger than the embers.
“You can put the fire out, but you won’t do it or is that you just can’t put it out? Is your ability not enough?”
The Emperor’s words felt particularly cold.
“Hwi-Amin.”
The Duke called his third son’s name.
Aynias did his part, Danterion wasn’t here, and Lian was the next successor.
“Ah, Father.”
Hwi-Amin trembled, but no one cared.
“Use the Power of Water.”
Even The Duke of Elheim turned a blind eye to him.
Eventually, a stream of water forced by Hwi-Amin poured into the greenhouse.
Faithful to the order given to him, Hwi-Amin poured out everything.
But then his powers ran out.
“N-no.”
He howled as his vessel broke.
Just like Liarte, whom he framed for his acquisition of the forbidden books, no one cared for Hwi-Amin.
It was at that moment when Hwi-Amin Elheim became an unawakener.
