I Will Conquer The World! - Chapter 54
Two weeks passed by in a flash with nothing note worthy happening, except for the twisted family starting to work for Harry.
They visited the king every morning, greeted him, and after talking for a bit, went back to their hut.
An unspoken agreement was reached between Harry and the three brothers that they would not talk about their salaries.
The three brothers knew that Harry would pay them well in the future. They also guessed that he was probably broke right now.
So, they didn’t bring up the topic in order to not strain their relation with Harry, and Harry too gladly did not bring up the topic as it would only bring more troubles to him. Their guess was right. He was absolutely broke.
He couldn’t even pay the maids, and if not for some farmer’s wives voluntarily working for Harry as maids for absolutely free, Harry, his mom and Aoi would have to do the work on their own.
The wives of the farmers were not the best at their jobs, but hey, they were working for FREE. Beggars can’t be choosers. Harry was glad that they were working for him in itself, and so he did not expect any sort of perfection from them in their jobs.
Harry felt his days in Lyria go by peacefully, as news of his status of messenger of the ancestors and his ‘godlike’ powers spread through Lyria.
Some naive Lyrians belived the news and Harry gained some more followers, while a lot of Lyrians who did not see his live ‘magic’ show as his stunts in the farmer’s gathering was now called by people who did not believe the rumours, did not believe what the farmers said and only knocked it off as sheer coincidence and trickery performed by the king.
The amount of respect he received from the hunters increased though, as he had the support of around 60 percent of the Lyrians, and majority wins. The 10 – 15 percent of people who were hunters couldn’t just disrespect the king who had the support of a lot of people of Lyria.
Though they didn’t drastically increase the amount of respect that they gave the king, they did start calling him my king from that dog, so that’s an improvement, right?
But today though, things were different. Hamilton came running into the throne room and said after taking in a few deep breaths, “Your Majesty, a lot of knights are waiting outside for you!”
