IDLE Database - Chapter 119
He didn’t know how long he was unconscious but when he opened his eyes, Aldrin found himself back inside his tent, his top was naked and the part where he was stabbed was bandaged.
His weapons, the Winterthorn and Obsidian Blaster were placed at his left. On his right, Irina was soundly sleeping.
It’s not hard to guess that the girl was the one who bandaged him up and even looked after him.
As for who sent him back, he could only guess that’s either Janet or the other Instructors she employed to catch Carlos. The last thing he remembered was his struggle to pop the Allcure Elixir in his mouth. If he was late in doing that, his life would’ve ended prematurely.
All of that just because of his wish to challenge someone a whole Stage stronger than him… His foolishness almost cost him his life. But with that experience, Aldrin learned his lesson not to overextend himself. A huge part of his strength was provided to him by the IDLE Database.
Without it, he’s just a fairly average newly-awakened Energy Refiner with a somewhat rich combat experience. Nothing more. Nothing less.
His true talent wouldn’t match up to those of Mila from Paleheart City and Yunlong Xin from Inkdragon City. He’s also far from Renissa’s talent level. That girl awakened by herself or rather, invoked by the near-death situation she fell into.
Compared to those three, Aldrin was a cheat who relied on IDLE Database’s feature of directly absorbing Dimensional Energy and that elevated him to his current level.
‘That’s it. That will be the first and last time I will try this stunt. It’s truly not worth it. But still, upon experiencing that, my mind was blank when it happened. No flashbacks of how my life unfolded. The only thing I glimpsed from it was the cold darkness and the solitary nothingness.’
Aldrin heavily sighed. He sighed and then accepted his own weakness. He had no time to be depressed. He asked for it so he had to live through that choice and face forward to the present.
“Thank you.” He turned his head to the girl lying down beside him, gently patted her head and whispered his words of gratitude.
There were more people he had to give his gratitude to but at the moment, he had more important things to do.
That one Allcure Elixir saved his life but it failed to completely heal him. Nonetheless, that’s enough. He could just consume another one to bring him back to perfect condition. He stored more than ten pieces of the elixir. It’s another cheat item that’s even more potent than the other elixirs provided to him by the Association. If it was revealed to the public, it would surely create a stir if.
Ignoring the slight pain from his chest, he willed his refined energy to his fingertips to open his Spatial Pocket. From there, he pulled out his phone and one more Allcure elixir. He unhesitatingly popped it like he planned before accessing the mysterious program.
Looking at the current time that’s still synced in their own Dimensional Plane, it’s way past midnight. Hours already passed ever since he left with Carlos.
Given that he couldn’t hear any activity outside his tent, they’re either still chasing after him or he was already caught and brought away.
He didn’t want to disturb Irina’s sleep so he decided to ask her later.
For now, his attention focused on IDLE Database.
The first thing that registered in his eyes was his current IDLE Points and Essence.
[IDLE Points: 49840/100000]
[Essence Storage: 2438/5500]
The income from the Small Merchants and Hunters were already credited. Furthermore, with Idle Adventure currently locked in the Dimension, every IDLE Point gained by his Dimensional Clones was being credited to his total.
Aldrin hurriedly renewed those two IDLE Points generators, converting 12,300 points to Federation Credits to buy 50 Small Merchants and 10 Hunters, leaving him with more than 30,000 IDLE Points for his use.
With Brown Feline and others at a similar level being the weakest Dimensional Creature in the Drawyz Domain, he’s earning 150 IDLE Points at each one they kill. That’s thanks to the tripled income brought about by the sudden changes in the Dimension.
A few seconds later, another notification popped up concerning his Dimensional Clones defeating another creature.
‘I left them on standby nearby, thinking I could also send them to chase after Carlos. Unfortunately, they ended up camping there without further orders from me.’ Aldrin shook his head, checked their status by bringing up Idle Adventure and confirmed that they’re still standing where he ordered them to wait.
Fortunately, they weren’t discovered by Janet and the others but the nearby Dimensional Creatures would attack them as soon as they were seen, resulting in a rather stable income.
The insect corpses stored at the Idle Storage had already dwindled to a few hundred while Brown Felines and other creatures that could be found in the Drawyz Domain slowly took up the storage space.
Most of those had intact corpses and would surely fetch a high price if he brought them to the Plainsteed Base Camp instead of burning them in the furnace to squeeze for their Essence. However, that’s impossible for his current identity as a trainee.
‘This is a welcome surprise…’
On the inventory list, apart from the creature corpses, he also found a few Monster Cores.
[2x Brown Feline Core]
[1x Feathered Reptile Core]
[1x Marsh Hound Core]
Although they’re all from Level 20 Creatures, a level away from being an Extraordinary Rank like the Guardian Ant and Spider Sentinel, it’s a great surprise to find more cores. Those insects, even if he already killed thousands of them, only those Area Boss in the dungeons dropped them.
From what he read about Monster Cores, Ordinary Rank creatures have almost close to zero chance of crystalizing a core… It’s not impossible but it’s also too rare to even get them.
It’s not even a day since the Dimensional Clones started hunting but they already found four…
‘Is it because of the IDLE Database?’ He could only suspect as such.
“Eh? You’re awake, Aldrin!”
Perhaps because he’s moving a lot, the girl beside him woke up. And upon seeing him fiddling with his phone, as usual, her face immediately brightened. However, as if she recalled something, she fell into confusion.
“Wait, how are you awake? It’s a grave wound… Are you still human?!” Irina exclaimed as she hurriedly raised her body to check on him properly.
