IDLE Database - Chapter 128
No one predicted the sudden aggressiveness of the Rift Monsters, well, except Aldrin. As the leader of their group and perhaps because he still appeared calm despite what they experienced, the Instructors who came to check on them, albeit late, asked him for the details of what had transpired in full detail.
Starting from the sighting of the hyenas that appeared out of nowhere with the hill as their set destination until the point where the ‘experts in Battlesuits’ arrived to help him lure the bulk of them away including the famed Dreadgnaw.
From them, Aldrin found out that the two trainees who got their Metadomes destroyed somehow survived. Furthermore, they’re actually the reason why Faye and her group got entangled with that many hyenas when his group arrived at the scene.
To save the two and let them call for help, they blocked the hyenas with their Metadomes.
Too bad though, some of them also froze up from the intimidating gaze of the nearby Dreadgnaw. Hence, their situation worsened.
The two didn’t go back on their words of calling for reinforcements and help. Just that, before they could come to their rescue, Irina and the others already rescued them as well as arrived right before the camp.
After his narration of the events, the Instructors had him elaborate more about the appearance of the ‘experts in Battlesuits’. It’s the one that took the most of their interests after all. His miraculous recovery was easily attributed to the Tyrant Princess, Janet.
They asked Aldrin if he at least found out their identities or what organization they belonged to. Naturally, he shook his head, only telling them that they saved him from being mauled down by the Dreadgnaw.
Calling the Dimensional Clones his savior wasn’t really wrong as they truly saved him from being taken out helplessly so he went with that story. Perhaps for some self-satisfaction, he also narrated how they saved him without missing a beat. Upon hearing that, it drew serious contemplative gazes from the Instructors before dropping it soon after. Most likely, he found him not lying.
In his mind, however, Aldrin was laughing at the thought that his Dimensional Clones were gradually making a name for themselves. But at the same time, he dreaded the possibility of them being approached, chased and exposed. It could hinder their hunt for IDLE Points as well as the investigation of the Dimension.
The location of the Fragment Core was already marked in his minimap. However, it was located in an unexplored area. He had no idea yet what could be waiting for him there. The instruction was just to take it but there’s no mention on how he would take it.
With that possibility of being treated like someone they had to unmask, Aldrin began taking it seriously. Compared to a Metadome, it’s common sense that they’d be slower when it comes to mobility. If a group of Metadomes chase after them, more than likely, they’d be forced to fight their way out even when it means they’d attack those curious Energy Refiners.
That’s why after finishing his report and returning to his tent to take a brief rest, he didn’t dilly dally and enact the solution he thought of…
Buying something from the Idle Shopping that could help his Dimensional Clones when the time comes that they need to avoid other Energy Refiners in the Dimension.
“Let’s see… This is the best considering my current budget…” He murmured as he browsed the Metadome Section of the Idle Shopping. Having chosen his pick, he tapped the screen to purchase it along with some add-ons.
[Purchased EGP-SPD#002: Buzzhare for 30,000 IDLE Points]
[Purchased Maneuver Assistance Module for 5,000 IDLE Points]
[Purchased Reinforced Energy Barrier Module for 5,000 IDLE Points]
[The Metadome will be delivered to the Hangar in six hours]
“That’s 40,000 in one go… But this is fine. It’s a necessary investment.” Aldrin watched as his more than 40,000 accumulated IDLE Points returned to the 4-digits.
Purchasing a Metadome that was specially made for its mobility and speed was the solution he came up with. It’s made by the Entraia Group of Companies. The organization that also had a branch at Lonewind City.
The Metadome was only a step above the Standard Model but as it was marketed like that, he trusted that it’d be handy for escaping or chasing purposes.
Moreover, the add-ons he purchased were two modules that could further aid it. The NQL and a basic weapon were already included in that package since he bought it as a whole set.
Nonetheless, seeing how easy it was for him to buy it, he began to wonder again how the IDLE Database would transport it to the Hangar that’s also existing somewhere in the seemingly endless space where the Dimensions like the Drawyz Domain was suspended.
“… Yeah, right. As if I will have an answer to it. As long as it will be delivered, that’s all that matters. For now. I for sure want to learn everything about this mysterious program, where it came from, who made it and why I was chosen… But that’s as long as this remains with me. If it disappears one day then the only lead I have will also be gone.”
After checking on his Dimensional Clones’ current status, he left his tent and rejoined the trainees to continue directing them as their elected leader.
The Instructors already left their base camp soon after his report, stating that their training would still resume. The attack of the hyenas was unusual but it’s not enough for the whole training to be called off.
That’s why he had to keep the construction moving while making sure that they’re aware of their surroundings.
Luckily for him, all of the trainees started admiring him upon hearing about what he did for Faye and her group, making them more obedient and enthusiastic about working with him.
Facing the Dreadgnaw alone was a feat that none of them could do… Hell, they even believed that even those two late Stage 1 Energy Refiner trainees from the other cities wouldn’t be able to muster their courage to fight against it.
