IDLE Database - Chapter 83
The dinner and Aldrin’s experience sharing with his groupmates ended quite well. It’s just him telling them how he achieved it. In hindsight, it’s almost the same as how I would visualize their Concept. It’s all about their imagination.
Anyway, the dinner should be perfect if not for Clark relentlessly harping for Irina to leave Aldrin’s side.
But instead of doing that exactly, Irina stuck even closer to Aldrin just to annoy Clark.
Although he couldn’t really be bothered by it, it’s clearly a case of one side not wanting to give up and the other side already tired of the former’s antics.
He already offered to help to make Clark understand that his attitude wouldn’t lead to him wooing the girl. That should be enough. But tonight, he got dragged by them again.
That’s why before he returned to his room, Irina was dragged by him this time to also offer the girl advice.
“I have to be honest here, Irina. If you really want him to stop, there’s only one solution to it.” He started.
And with a weird glint in her eyes, Irina became filled with anticipation.
“There is? Tell me, Aldrin. I’ll owe you one!”
“Get a boyfriend. There’s a limit to using me as a shield, don’t you think so?”
Upon hearing the solution he came up with, Irina was first dazed before showing a crestfallen expression. “… Right. You’re the one being bothered because of Clark. I’m sorry, Aldrin.”
“Don’t be. As the one oldest among us, I ought to do this. Also, I’ll continue advising him until he gives up or he changes his approach.” Aldrin reached for Irina’s golden hair and ruffled it gently, “Cheer up, I’m not saying you should get one as soon as possible. You two are friends and… as long as we stay as a group, I’ll look out for everyone.”
A while later, Aldrin escorted Irina to her room before returning to his.
Putting the issue of Irina and Clark at the back of his mind, he was surprised when he saw six silver suitcases neatly placed inside his room.
“I was wondering how the IDLE Database will deliver everything I purchased earlier. To think that it would be like this… No one from the camp or even from the fortress probably detected this. If it’s not the drone from before, then the only possible explanation to this is the mysterious application’s ability to create Dungeons and Dimensional Spaces like this Idle Storage.” Aldrin smirked, locked his room and approached the package delivered to him.
As he observed them, they’re still similar suitcases that were being used as hand-carry equipment boxes for every Energy Refiner who doesn’t have a Spatial Pocket Concept.
He opened them one by one and found out that everything he bought was inside. The first five silver suitcases were filled with the battlesuit sets while the last one was filled with the basic weapons that cost 100 IDLE Points each.
From how many mysteries the IDLE Database had shown him, he’s slowly becoming numb to it. Still, he’s still hoping to unearth its mysteries just to satisfy his mindset as a realist.
For him, everything has an explanation, it’s just a matter of whether he’s privy to it or not.
After putting them all in his Spatial Pocket, he pulled out his phone.
Seconds later, the interface of IDLE Database filled his eyes.
[IDLE Points: 18230/40000]
Because of his spending earlier; the battlesuits, furnace boosters and Worker Bots, the 10000 IDLE Points that he got as a reward from the dungeon was almost depleted.
Still, seeing that he’s already earning 20000 a day from just Idle Adventure, it naturally brought a satisfied smile to Aldrin’s lips.
Despite the fees he’s paying to safely stow away his Dimensional Clones’ earnings, it’s still higher than what the Small Merchants were producing.
“I want to say it’s about time to unlock the next tier for that but more than twenty thousand IDLE Points are still not enough to reach 100 Small Merchants.” He shook his head as he recalled the staggering more than thirty thousand points that were needed for it.
Since there’s still time before midnight and the reset, Aldrin set that aside first as he accessed the dimension of Idle Storage.
After a brief darkening of his consciousness, he once again found himself inside it, standing before the mountain of ant corpses and the Worker Bots busily throwing those corpses to the furnace.
As he scanned them, apart from the Worker Bots Ex that costs him 500 IDLE Points each, the cheaper kind of Worker Bots were soon to reach 0 Durability.
Most of those Worker Bots looked like they’re already crumpled from the extreme heat of the furnace.
Upon seeing their state, he immediately bought their replacements.
Following that, Aldrin walked around the storage area to look for something.
Moments later, he found what he’s looking for, the damaged battlesuit as well as the sword with an ice-blue blade and white as snow hilt.
He first picked up the battlesuit and extracted the sixth piece that Janet provided for him. It’s also damaged but not beyond repair. Its metallic cast was blackened from how he pushed it to the limits just to escape the quick sword of the Ant Champion.
If that sixth piece got destroyed there, Aldrin would be hard-pressed to provide an explanation if Janet noticed that it was missing from his battlesuit.
“I better not use it again in the meantime before I get a channel to procure a replacement for it.”
After deciding it like that, he also threw it to Spatial Pocket and attached it to one of the Basic Refiner Battlesuits before safely securing the silver suitcase on one corner. Just in case his battlesuits got destroyed again, he had one of them stowed away that could be used when their training moved back to using battlesuits.
Once the dimensional crack closed, his attention was now taken by the sword.
Aldrin picked the sword up to check it.
“This is…”
Although the body he’s possessing should be devoid of the sense of touch, he somehow felt a faint chill creeping along his body or rather, his consciousness that’s possessing the body prepared for him.
The Grade 2 Weapon: Winterthorn was the reward for the Dungeon that was truly different from his previous weapon or even the pre-arranged weapons for his Dimensional Clones.
He recalled its description. The chilling sensation he felt was most likely the inherent properties of it.
“This sword’s description said that this is naturally born from a gigantic flower. There’s no record of it in the books I’ve read. Perhaps, it’s in one of those expensive ones. I guess I have to spare a few thousand IDLE Points for those and expand more of my knowledge. Especially the Grading System of the Weapons and Equipment I could get. Not just the ones I can get from IDLE Database but also what is being offered for every Energy Refiner through proper channels.”
“Anyway, I wonder how this will fare against those Ant Champions’ weapons? Will it also be crushed?”
After scrutinizing the sword from its tip to its snow-white hilt, he swung it once and saw how it somehow left an icy effect from where it passed through.
Since he couldn’t really test it inside the Idle Storage, Aldrin soon placed it inside his Spatial Pocket for later use.
