If You Dare To Marry Me, Then I Do Too - Chapter 10. Prenuptial Pact

After walking for a long time, my face still had a look of indignation, and my mouth kept chanting sutras.

“Don’t be mad, Luo Luo. Other girls are afraid of looking old. How could you hate looking young? Besides, little girls are cute. How else would you be the cutest in the world if you don’t look young, right?” He said nice words to me in a funny way.

“That’s true. They’re just jealous of me, and have no good intentions!” I shook my head and made an arrogant expression.

He laughed out loud with his hands on his stomach.

“Don’t laugh! It’s more important that we get the registration book. Now let’s split up and go!” I shouted and ran fast to the street.

“Luo Luo, slow down and watch out for cars. Remember to get back here and don’t stand me up! I’ll wait for you at the gate.” From behind came the hoarse roar of the dead mouse.

I didn’t have any more time to respond as I immediately dived into a taxi and told the driver to drive quickly, for fear of going back on my promise if I was a second behind.

When I got home, I rummaged through the cabinets and looked around for the household registration book. But this seems to be against me. I’ve already turned over a lot of places, but I can’t find it. The more anxious I get, the more confused I become. I became muddleheaded, like a headless fly spinning around the house. The floor was littered with books and magazines on the bed, but I still couldn’t find it.

Oh God, do you not want me to get married? If you really don’t agree to this, then make it clear by letting out thunder and lighting! Don’t just make sweat like this!

Aiyaa, God is too far away! Sleeping! No one pays attention to me!

There was no other way but to call my mother and ask  her where it was.

“What do you need it for? Why do you suddenly want this thing?” My mother had doubts about her tone.

“This… That… Hey! I just want to take a look, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. I’ve forgotten what it looks like!” I laughed and made random remarks to put her attention away.

“What nonsense are you talking about? You’re not going to do something bad with your registration book, are you? Luo Luo, tell me honestly, are you planning to run away from home again? If you do, then I’ll no longer recognize you as my daughter!” My mother seemed scared because of that time that I ran away before.

“What bad things will I do? I don’t even have to bring the household registration book with me if I want to kill, rob, steal and commit arson, you know? Why would I run away from home? I just really want to see it!” I swore by the heavens and earth.

“I don’t know where it is. You’ve always kept it by yourself, so why are you asking me for it now? Look for it again, it should be there!” My old mother answered carelessly.

“I’m so angry you didn’t even tell me where! This is a waste of time!” I couldn’t hang up the phone, I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry.

I searched for it for a long time, turning over things again and again. I knocked my head and tried to sort out my thoughts. Then I remembered that it seems to have been put in a file bag of a bookcase. I immediately ran to take out the file bag. Lo and behold! Hahaha, it really was there!

Hmph! I’ll beat you to death! You dare hide in this horrible place and make it so hard for me to find you!

Thank goodness I found it. Otherwise I would have thought that the heavens are preventing me from getting married! Woohoo, false alarm!

Regardless of the consequences, I took the registration book and rushed downstairs. I didn’t even bother to fix the mess I made in the house. I hurriedly called a taxi to go to the marriage registration office. I saw the dead mouse anxiously wandering like a trapped animal at the gate. When he saw me, he took a long breath of relief. The  gratitude in his eyes moved me a little.

It turns out that he really cares about this marriage, not just casually thinking about it!

I didn’t even have time to talk as he pulled me straight into the office on the third floor, running as if it was for his life. Could it be that he’s as afraid as I am that he would back out, so he wanted to get the stamp before he sobered up?

I broke away from his hand and stood still. “Mumu, listen first. I have to tell you something. If you agree, then I will marry you. If you don’t agree, then I won’t marry you!” I pouted and rolled my eyes.

“No, and…” I chopped my feet, refusing to move.

“Oh god, help me. Are you testing my patience? You don’t have to say it. No matter how outrageous your conditions are, I’ll agree to all of it. Now you can rest assured!” He also chopped his feet.

“Really? What if I asked you to carry me up and down the stairs every day? Will you do it?” I asked curiously.

“Fine, then I’ll carry you on my back. I, Mumu, am very manly. So what if  I have to carry a little woman up and down the stairs everyday? I’ll probably even become a news figure and become a good man of the new generation in Changsha city’s Women Federation. Then I’ll become a celebrity! What a bargain, ah! We walked into the office panting, and the previous staff was still there. They couldn’t help but laugh and wink at each other as soon as they saw us which really made me laugh and cry.
