I’ll Become the Tyrant’s Tutor - Chapter 23
Prim was a bit hesitant to receive the rose.
“I wish you could be more friendly.” (Prim)
“… In the midst of this, you are still teaching me?” (Reynsis)
“Because I’m your tutor.” (Prim)
“You don’t need to.” (Reynsis)
The awkward atmosphere began to ease a little. Only then, Prim began to smile comfortably.
“Thanks for the rose. I will treasure it.” (Prim)
“….Throw it away, if it starts to wither.” (Reynsis)
“I can’t just throw it away!” (Prim)
How can she throw it away? It’s his first gift to her.
When Prim thought about that, she smiled at the rose.
“Huh?”
Prim exclaimed and looked up at the sky. Reynsis followed her gaze.
The rain stopped before they knew it. Over the wet rose garden, a rainbow appeared.
“The rainbow..” (Prim)
“…….” (Reynsis)
Reynsis looked towards the garden which she pointed out.
“Do you know about rainbows? There are seven colours that spread out like that. You can only see red now, but I’m sure you will see all the colors one day.” (Prim)
“…….” (Reynsis)
“You will have to tell me how you feel if you ever see it.”
Prim said as she smiled again.
At the time, she had no idea why her smile hurt Reynsis’s eyes. She didn’t even know what waves of thoughts were blowing in his mind.
‘I will give back the rainbow that I took away from you.’
That’s what Prim thought at that moment.
***
Even today, Prim stood in front of a heavy set of doors. She knocked once and pushed it open.
“Greetings, Your Highness! Good morning.”
Prim approached him with a big smile. Reynsis glanced at her, then returned to staring at the book.
At first glance, it seemed like he was ignoring her, but Prim was skeptical about something. After coming back from the temple, he became softer than usual.
“Oh my! They served it today too!” (Prim)
“……” (Reynsis)
The proof that he became softer is that, nearly every day, the servants serve a strawberry tarte for them.
“Yes. They gave it to me.” (Reynsis)1
Reynsis replied as if it was not a big deal.
‘Lies.’
Desserts cannot be in the same menu for days because it’s the Prince’s meals.
Prim nodded and smiled.
“Then, thank you for the meal.” (Prim)
“…..This is not what I prepared. You don’t have to say that.” (Reynsis)1
“Of course, Your Highness~” (Prim)
“Stop.” (Reynsis)
“Alright.” (Prim)
‘Our cute little beast. He really made me think that he is a 16 year old boy.’
Prim smiled as she started to eat the tarte.
The sweet syrup mixed with the strawberries are a good combination along with the soft whipped cream too.1
‘Ah~… This is what you call life.’
Happiness was filled on her face.
“…….” (Reynsis)
Reynsis’s gaze from the book was now on Prim.
‘Is the tarte really that good?’
Eating the same menu for a few days might get boring, but Prim had a happy face every day.
It was worth for him to prepare for it despite the embarrassment.
He hates to admit it, but he liked the way Prim laughs.2
Without realizing, Reynsis was staring at her too much. He pretended not to be interested while holding his chin. Then he spoke,
“About what you said back then.”
“Hm?” (Prim)
Prim’s mouth was full of whip cream and strawberries as she tilted her head. There was a cream near her lips.1
‘You’re clumsy.’
Reynsis gently swiped the book’s page with his thumb. It was as if he imagined himself to wipe the cream on her face.6
(t/n, i can’t even —)2
“You told me. About meeting my fate or whatever related to that.” (Reynsis)
After swallowing the rest of the tarte, Prim nodded in confidence.
Reynsis acted indifferent as he turned to his poetry book again.
“… Now, I want to know about your hometown that you spoke about before.” (Reynsis)
Prim’s hand, which was moving to pick up the remaining tart, suddenly stopped in the air.
“No way…” (Prim)
Prim poked her cheeks in surprise.
“……” (Reynsis)
“Oh god.” (Prim)
Prim closed her mouth with a look of emotion. She couldn’t control her joy.
Even though Prim didn’t pay attention to him, he asked a question about her first.
“I’m so glad, Your Highness! I have to write this down in my diary today! In the meantime, our hard work has finally been paid off.” (Prim)
“Just answer my question.” (Reynsis)
He cut her chattering. Prim almost hiccuped as the chilly atmosphere still remained.
“It’s a place called Radika.” (Prim)
“It’s strange to hear it again. Radika . I’ve never heard of such a place. It wasn’t even on the map.” (Reynsis)1
“Of course…”, Prim mumbled silently. It was just a made-up name that she once blurted out suddenly. She didn’t exist in this world nor could she recall her characteristics, so she couldn’t find any trace of this original body’s origins.
“It’s a small country. It is also hard to locate. Not many people can go searching for it.” (Prim)
Prim hesitated for a moment. Reynsis stared at her for a while. Prim’s face was full of emotion.
“Are you looking for it, Your Highness?” (Prim)
“…..What?” (Reynsis)
Reynsis was speechless. Prim looked at him with a flushed face.
“…….”
His face slowly began to turn red.1
He was ashamed! Prim’s heart began to thump after seeing that look on his face.1
“Oh my, I’m so happy!” (Prim)
“You’re too loud, it’s not like that.” (Reynsis)
Reyn strongly denied it, but his denial failed to reach the thrilled Prim. Prim’s eyes glowed with a touched face.
“You should have asked me first? You memorize the whole map, right?” (Prim)
“No, I’m not.” (Reynsis)1
“You can speak comfortably though. Do you have any questions to ask me?”
Prim asked playfully.
‘Beast, why do you have to look cute like that?’ Prim’s cheeks were as red as his.1
“…….”
Reynsis shut his mouth as if he was reflecting on a mistake.
After a while of thinking, he started to speak,1
“….. What is it like to be friendly?”
‘Friendly?’ For an unexpected question, Prim tilted her head.
“Well….”
Prim stopped and thought carefully.
“It’s easier than you think. You can just copy me.” (Prim)
“…….” (Reynsis)
“First of all, this is how you make eye contact. Do not frown.” (Prim)
‘Like that.’
Prim straightened her upper body and faced him properly. When their eyes met, he was a bit startled.
“….. Do I have to do that?” (Reynsis)
“There’s more. Let’s make eye contact first.”
She was trying to explain thoroughly.
“…….”
Reynsis leaned his upper body towards the table along with her. They were close to each other.
“And?”
He asked quietly. When she faced him, she literally forgot about everything.
“And…..”
She unconsciously licked her dry lips.2
‘….. Her lips were red.’
Reynsis’s eyes turned to her lips. It was at that moment when he suddenly thought that it was a persistent and explicit gaze.
[ Knock, knock ]3
The interruption broke the heavy atmosphere. Prim quickly came to her senses. It was as if someone had hypnotized her.
Reynsis leaned back on the chair and glanced towards her. His expression was full of irritation.1
“Come in.” (Reynsis)
The door opened as soon as the permission was given.
It was Marian who visited them.
“Look at this, dear Prince!”
Marian handed over something in her hand. It was a parchment which was made with very good material.
With a grumpy look, Reynsis accepted the parchment. As he unpacked the ribbon and read the letter. Then he looked at Prim with a hesitated face.
“The rumours are true?”
Marian asked. Reyn picked the parchment and put it on the table.
“Mmm.” (Reynsis)
Marian was full of joy at that moment.
“Finally! You’re finally going! Oh my!” (Marian)
Prim was curious to see his reaction.
She looked at the parchment as if it was a hint for her. She opened it without his permission, but Reynsis didn’t stop her either.1
“This..” (Prim)
A note on the parchment said the prince would be allowed to visit the 7th Princess’s birthday party in a few days.
It was even stamped with a royal seal, as if it was a letter from the Emperor himself.
Prim was a bit confused.
She was sure that he had received an invitation a few days ago. So, why was he so focused in class?
(Note: she thought that he had received an invitation before telling her, so that’s why he was so focused in class, but in reality, he didn’t receive any invitation yet. The reason he was focused is bcs he wanted to get to know Prim much closer.)1
‘But why is it now?’
Prim looked at the Reyn and made eye contact with him. Unlike Prim who had a confused face, he was still expressionless.1
“Is there a problem?” (Reynsis)
Prim shook her head while still confused.
“No, I just wonder why the invitation arrived just now. I’m sure Your Highness said…” (Prim)
“It’s just a letter, that’s all.” (Reynsis)
He said firmly.
Is that so? Prim rubbed her temples. She couldn’t get rid of the uncomfortable feeling. It’s the feeling like you don’t know something.
“It’s not the time for this, Prim!”
Marian crushed her thoughts when she spoke.
“There’s so much to prepare. Help me!” (Marian)
“What? What preparation?” (Prim)
“You better get ready! You should go with me!” (Reynsis)1
“Me?” (Prim)
Prim asked back in surprise. Reynsis turned to her.
“You’re not going with me?” (Reynsis)1
“No, no. Of course I’m going —” (Prim)
Even if Marian or Reynsis didn’t ask for her attendance at the party, she was willing to go there no matter what.
‘Because the Beauty might be there.’
She would stick right next to Reyn and never fall off. She was going to look for the Beauty with her eyes peeled.
Come to think of it, Elena, the beauty candidate she had picked was also invited. It will be a good opportunity to introduce the two naturally.
‘Of course Daphs will interfere but…’
Prim recalled when she was dragging Elena away from Daphs.
‘I wasn’t thinking when I did that.’
It was good to be next to Elena, otherwise she would have been killed by Prince Daphs. Prim stepped back unknowingly.
“You don’t want to go?” (Reynsis)
He thought that Prim was hesitant to go to the party, seeing that she had stopped talking in the middle of their conversation. He raised his eyebrows.
“No. I’ll go!” (Prim)
Prim nodded her head furiously. Daphs was scary, but he wouldn’t do anything strange in such a crowded place.
“I will stick close to the Prince.” (Prim)
Prim’s face returned to being bright and cheerful as she exclaimed that she will be next to him no matter what.
“I am a Beauty seeker.” (Prim)
“Beauty?” (Marina)
Marian snorted while Reynsis just shook his head as if he was lazy to talk to her about that issue.1
(Reyn) “..Whatever you say.”
(Prim) “Just trust me, Beast!”
(Marian) “B-beast?”
(Prim) “Ops… heh heh…Looks like the cat is out of the bag*…Umm, that’s what I nicknamed him. Yeah!”
