I’ll Become the Tyrant’s Tutor - Chapter 24
Reynsis turned his head away as if he didn’t want to hear it anymore.
‘What the hell?… always going on and on about the Beauty person. What’s his destiny?’
“Don’t do anything strange and stick close to me.” (Reynsis)
“Yes! Don’t worry!” (Prim)
“…….” (Reynsis)
Sighing inwardly to himself, he thought, ‘If she ever brought up the topic of ‘destiny’ again, he couldn’t even hate her.’ Reynsis glanced back at the book after gazing at Prim. Of course, not a single word on the page was absorbed through his eyes.
“Come on, Prim! Let’s go, follow me!”
Marianne grabbed Prim’s hand. Prim looked at Marianne with confusion.
“You must get ready too silly! His Majesty will be asking you about how His Highness has been doing. You have to tell them yourself because you are his tutor!”
Marian said with an excited tone. Prim recalled being in the warehouse where the Prince’s baby rattle was found.
‘I’m sure we will be going on a memory trip together.’
However, she wasn’t sharing the same sentiments as Marian. She didn’t know any proper etiquette in this world, and she was concerned this would reflect badly on herself and Reynsis since she would be following Reynsis as a tutor at the party.
Prim was wary of herself for Reynsis’s sake. However, Reyn, who looked unconcerned with his eyes fixed on the book, nodded lightly.
“I’ll be back.” (Prim)
Prim and Marian left the room together. The silence descended on the room after the door closed.

《REYNSIS POV》
Only then did I hastily close my book, set it aside, and put my head down. I look at my own hands.
Still no colours… But something kept thumping in my chest. There’s a tickle in my stomach, and I felt stuffy as if I was trapped.
‘You can see colors when you meet your destiny.’
That means Prim was not my destiny.
It didn’t make sense.
‘Then what was the color of the flower? The pink I saw?’
You’re saying it’s all a lie or the color I saw is just a figment of my imagination? Or am I really just going crazy?
My stomach felt twisted. I was feeling annoyed.
Hateful curse words were hovered in my throat. I tried to deny everything… yet I couldn’t.
Moreover, I didn’t know what I was denying.
If I could define what my feelings were right now from a book I once read, it felt like the word was ‘acceptance’.
Yes. There was no such word as that to clear up this confused mind. So, I intended to take on the act of ‘acceptance’.
I directly wrote a letter to the Emperor himself. ‘Now that I can see colours, I requested that you invite me to the 7th Princess Birthday Party.’1
I felt no resentment for the time I had lived in isolation nearly my entire life, and I had no desire to accept my probation again.
To me, the Emperor is just a simple-minded and stupid man. When I saw the invitation, I could feel that the Emperor was excited with my recovery.
How excited he would be.
‘However, he is just a human being too.’
I closed my eyes for a moment then opened it again.
Now everything I have to do at this point has been done. All that’s left is going to the Princesses birthday banquet with Prim.
Prim was probably running around like crazy right now. Since she is from a small country where I can’t even find its name, she probably has never been to such a luxurious party.
Although she had never painted in front of me, she insisted and said that she was a painter. Perhaps it would be a good experience for her too. The Imperial Palace was full of beautiful arts.
If she was willing to attend the party, I can imagine her reaction. Maybe, she will keep chattering and talking nonstop.
‘Your Highness, look here!’ And she will look at me with a cheerful smile.
Then I….
I can’t take my eyes off her.3
“…….”
Prim once said, the prophecy was wrong because she existed. Thus, I didn’t have to be scared of it.
Her words were true. When I saw the field of red roses, which everyone said that the rose was the factor of the curse, I was still fine.
The roses’ fragrance that was a source of his misery and nightmares vanished after that day.
‘When she is next to me…’
I suddenly stopped thinking. The Belles Palace which I once said was terrible became a peaceful place.
It was ridiculous! I leaned against the backrest on my chair. The familiar pains bothered my eyes to no end.
I turned my head to the side. The flower vase near the window contained a single rose in it. It was the rose that I gave her from the temple.
The rose was still pristine and has yet to show signs of withering.
Prim smiles happily at that rose every day.
She took great care of it by changing the water every day and trimming the stems to keep it fresh as the first time I gifted it to her.
‘I must be crazy.’1
I shook my head with a light smile. A smile that I got used to.
《END REYNSIS POV》
—
***
The day of the showdown finally came.
‘The 7th Princess birthday!’
Prim jumped up. It was still early in the morning since the sun hadn’t risen up.
But she couldn’t calm her racing heart. Prim clenched her fist. A slender accessory shook her wrist.
The previous night before, Marian gave her a bracelet. Before Reynsis was kicked out from the Imperial Palace, the Empress gave the bracelet to maid Marian in exchange for taking care of Reynsis.
—
Marianne mumbled in a sad tone while handing over the bracelet to Prim.
“It was a token of determination for me. I made a promise with the Empress that I will take care of His Highness.”
Marian held Prim’s hand with both hands. The creased around the corner of her eyes were wet with tears.
“Now, I will give this to you. I think it’s better for you to have it, please…”
Marian laughed while saying so. Prim didn’t refuse. Because she felt the same way as her.
—
‘So I need to stand confidently.’
Prim walked out from her room instantly.
(e/n: Please tell me she washed and dressed at least…XP)
Countless servants were busy moving and being instructed around the halls and throughout the Palace.
In their hands were many well-crafted pieces of jewellery, while others were carrying beautiful sculptures.
It was so shiny that her eyes were blinded.
‘What’s with all of this?’
Looking at everything with discomfort, Prim continued to move until she finally arrived in front of the Prince’s bedroom.
“Your Highness, it is Primabel.”
“Come in.” (Reynsis)
Prim opened the door and swiftly went inside.
Reynsis was surrounded by many servants. She heard whispers that these are the people from the Imperial Palace come to assist the Prince.
Maybe that’s why these servants were keeping their distance as far away as possible and refused to touch Reynsis.
Reynsis’s lips drew a thin line while his wrinkled forehead openly revealed his discomfort.
But he was still as handsome as ever. In his presence she couldn’t open her eyes properly since he is too dazzling.
‘Is love at the first sight like this?’
Prim managed to walk towards him.
“W-well, I am sorry Your Highness… B-but my hands…” (Servant)
The servant, who was helping Reynsis nervously stuttered. It was obvious that he was unwilling to come in contact with him.
“OHH, Your Highness! You are shining again today!” (Prim)
Prim deliberately approached his side.
When she stepped a bit closer, the servants back away from Reynsis.
The Prince glanced towards Prim while struggling to fix the tie on his neck. It was uncomfortable because the collar is a bit tight.
“Do you mind if I take a look at it?” (Prim)
Prim again, jumped closer to him.
While moving his hands away to adjust his sleeve instead, he looked down at her somewhat expectantly. She was looking at his reaction as she stepped in front of him. Gladly, he did not reject her.
Prim raised her slender hands and began adjusting his collar.
Reynsis stiffened and as soon as he felt her fingertips he stopped breathing. There was a faint rose scent from her and a warm hand brushed gently against his neck.
The servants watched them with astonished eyes.
Seeing her hands traveled on his body without any injury or anything bad happening left them speechless.
It was quite different from the rumours that spread among the people in the capital, ’whomever uses their hands which touched his body shall be cursed.’
“…..Get out.” (Reynsis)
Hearing the Prince’s command, all the servants bowed swiftly and went out of the room.
The people that made him uncomfortable soon disappeared from the room. Prim looked at him properly.
The Prince was well dressed in a ceremonial military uniform with gold threads and braids woven across his chest . His blonde hair was neatly brushed and parted to the left to make the unique beautiful face stand out.
“You’re perfect.” (Prim)
“What’s perfect?”
Reyn asked shorly. Prim just shook her head and ignored his question.
“Your looks… it’s perfect.”
Prim turned his body, and they both faced the mirror. His eyes shifted as he was following her gaze.
He could see himself in a colourless attire, such mismatched clothes. He could also see her bright red hair.
“Now, what do you see?” (Prim)
Prim asked with shining eyes.
“…Your hair.” (Reynsis)
He answered indifferently looking back at her. ‘I didn’t ask about my hair.’ She thought at his nonchalantly reply.
“You should see yourself, Your Highness. Not me. Take a look at how beautiful you are with your own eyes.” (Prim)
He looked back at the mirror.
But his eyes were still on her.
Prim was wearing a dress.
He was worried about her going to the party.
Wearing a dress with frills, she smiled towards him.
(t/n, dresses with frills r my absolute favourite.)
She’s his partner at the party.
Is that why he couldn’t take his eyes off her?
“You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen, Your Highness.”
Prim spoke as she stared at him.
‘Beautiful.’
Even the servants, who were afraid of the Prince, kept repeating the same thing.
Beautiful.
He couldn’t believe it no matter how much he heard it. He always thought he looked like a mudflat.
(e/n: I had to look up what this was, lol!)
In the mirror’s reflection, a pair of gray and empty eyes filled with an endless empty void staring back at him. Eyes that saw the faces of those people who called him beautiful filled with fear of him.
So Reynsis didn’t believe in the word, ‘beautiful’.
Because he thought everyone was mocking him.
But…
Her words sounded sincere.
Prim clasped her hands together because she didn’t know what else to do.
Reynsis peeked at her face in the mirror. Her expression was excited and cheerful.
‘He’s so tall.’
His military formal attire really made his beauty stand out.
“…Do you really think so?” (Reynsis)
As he was exploring his own looks, he hesitated to speak.
“What?” (Prim)
“I’m not ugly in your eyes?”
He asked while blinking. His reaction is more static than usual.
‘Are you testing me right now?’
It was hard for her to grasp what his intentions were. She felt like the Prince thought her compliment was gibberish and unbelievable.
But no matter what, there is only one answer.
“Of course not!”
Prim nodded proudly.
Reynsis was the most beautiful beast in the world she made. How dare they blame him for his appearance?!
“Your Highness is beautiful. Really!” (Prim)
“…….” (Reynsis)
“There will be no one blaming you for your own beauty, Your Highness. If they do, I will never let them get away with it!”
Prim said with an enthusiastic face.
‘I want to be sincere.’ She thought.
[ Knock, knock ]
A knock was heard from the door.
