I’ll Become the Tyrant’s Tutor - Chapter 26
“Where did you learn such confidence!” (Daphs)
Without any consideration or courtesy, Daphs began to drag Prim by the wrist with a tight grip. It was a vice grip strong enough to where it could crush her bones.
“Prim!” (Elena)
Elena quickly chased them. Frightened, Prim shouted for him to let her go, but Daphs refused to acknowledge her pleads.
“You know why you’re coming back here with me?!” (Daphs)
‘I won’t let it go.’ Daphs muttered like a possessed man, never stopping his already quickening steps.
“Your Highness, let me go!” (Prim)
Even if Prim resisted with all her might, there was no way to overpower or outrun him. Just when things seemed desperate, Daphs suddenly stopped in his tracks.
“…. Your Majesty.” (Daphs)
“Daphs? Why are you here?” (Emperor)
The emperor was strolling and conversing with Reynsis. Behind them were the Emperor’s entourage of royal servants and knights that were at their beck and call*.
(Note: *You are ready to obey their orders or commands.)
Daphs was taken aback when he saw his father Emperor here, but he was more flabbergasted when his and Reynsis’s eyes met.
“……..” (Reynsis)
Reynsis’s hazy gaze fell downward at who was accompanied with Prince Daphs. His gaze settled on Prim’s wrist that was being grabbed by Daphs.
“Ladies, why do you look scared?” (Emperor)
The Emperor’s chilling and low voice asked her.
Surprised by the cold atmosphere and the presence of their monarch, Prim did her best to lower her head while Elena bowed.
“We greet His Majesty of the Empire.” (Prim & Elena)
“This Prince greets the Emperor.” (Daphs)
However, the Emperor stared at Daphs, and commanded before giving them a chance to recover from the Emperor’s eyes glaring at him.
“Daphs! I asked what you were doing here? What are you doing to these ladies?”
The Emperor said while narrowing his eyes in suspicion.
Daph’s behavior seemed impolite to everyone. After the thunderous warning, Daphs finally came to his senses.
“Your Majesty, I have something to say to you.” (Daphs)
It was such a brief fear. Maybe it was good that they met the Emperor now.
His father would know about ‘The Man’ better.
Daphs roughly tugged Prim’s wrist as her body reeled forward in front of everyone. Reynsis’s body went rigid. His face held an icy cold expression seeing the rough treatment of Prim.
Daphs said and he pushed her down kneeling in front of the emperor with a triumphant look.
“Your Majesty, I’ve got her.” (Daphs)
“…What is the meaning of this?” (Emperor)
“The rose incident,… it’s her!” (Daphs)
The Emperor raised an eyebrow. The emperor knew the best what the red rose meant. It was the beginning of the prophecy.
“The roses?” (Emperor)
The Emperor took a step closer to Prim. Prim shuddered under the monarch’s intimidating pressure. Her head bowed automatically.
“I am sure that ‘he‘ is disguised as this woman.” (Daphs)
Daphs said confidently. Reynsis stared at Daphs suspiciously and turned his eyes to Prim.
“Raise your head.” (Emperor)
“…..” (Prim)
“I command you.” (Emperor)
Prim hesitated. She was afraid to make eye contact with the Emperor.
The Emperor is obsessed with beautiful things She’s afraid if he sees a person he deems beautiful, he’ll also want to have a person’s body.
But it was unavoidable because he, the emperor holds the highest authority in the Empire. Prim slowly raised her head.
“……..”
As he faced her fearful black eyes, the Emperor crumbled his face.
“Daphs.”
The Emperor straightened his upper body. He called the Prince with an icy voice but Daphs didn’t notice it. He nodded his head with his eyes shining with anticipation.
“Should I kill her?” (Daphs)3
“What?” (Emperor)
“She came here crawling in suddenly. Give her hell, Your Majesty.” (Daphs)
“Daphs!” (Emperor)
The emperor raged loudly. Daphs blinked speechless.
Prim and Elena were shocked too. They couldn’t understand the immediate situation that was unfolding before them.
“What makes you think that this lady is ‘The Man’! She is Reynsis’s tutor!”
“Y,Your Majesty! She certainly is his tutor, but look at her eyes!”
Daphs pulled Prim up towards him to get a better look at her eyes. Her eyes were black as normal.
Daphs clenched his teeth together.
He saw it clearly. The eyes that glowed purple. It was like ‘The Man of Prophecy.’
‘It wouldn’t have been a mistake!’1
But her pupils were pitch black and no other light was visible.
“It would seem my older brother can’t distinguish the difference in colors better than I can.”3
Reynsis facial expression didn’t change much, but everyone heard that cold mockery in his voice.
‘Older Brother?’
It was a title that Reynsis had never called him before. It was something vicious that he had deliberately stated in front of His Majesty.
‘You wicked son of a bitch.’
Daphs clenched his fist.
His body trembled with anger. He didn’t go around spreading rumors to see this situation.
On that day, to avenge the insults by Reynsis and Prim, he already planned for them to be publically humiliated and criticized by the whole empire in front of his eyes.
How did this happen? He couldn’t believe that he was being ridiculed by Reynsis for color discrimination. This was a disgrace, itself; he could not let this go further he thought.
There were many eyes here. The Emperor was still stifling his anger.
“Release her this instant.” (Vierno II)
[Note: Vierno II is the Emperor’s name]
Daph’s voice echoed desperately in the hall.
“Your Majesty, please listen to me! It must have been magic! Like the day HE cursed you!”
“DAPHS!!”
The Emperor’s face turned beet red. In front of the many noble knights and servants present, his idiot son was retelling the day of the curse.
“Release her now!” (Vierno II)
Daphs clenched his jaw and balled his fist tight in frustration. If he could, he wanted to rip out Prim’s eyes and seal them in a jar for others to see like a trophy collection.
But there were too many eyes to see. Even the knights and servants, who kept their mouths shut, looked at him with a frightened look.
‘Damn it!’
Eventually, Daphs let go of Prim’s wrist.
Prim uttered a short groan. The handprint of Daph’s hand remained large on her skin. Prim bit her lower lip and covered the red handprint with her other hand.
“…….”
Despite Prim doing her best to hide her injury from everyone, Reynsis captured her whole movement. Daphs’ handprints also looked vividly red in his eyes.
Like Daphs, Reyn also clenched his fist till his nails dug into his palms.
‘I held that arm when I was practicing dancing. A slender, fragile arm that could easily break…’1
He glared murderously at Daphs for what he had done to accuse Prim and mainly because he left a glaring red mark on Prim.
Reynsis wanted to put his fist into Daph’s disgusting face and color it red.
(e/n: Me too. I’ll hold his arms, Ryuu can hold his legs.) (งಠ_ಠ)ง σ( •̀ ω •́ σ)5
(t/n: lemme just kick him •.• )
But he really had no other choice but to endure it. His purpose today was not Daphs. There was something more important than that.
He slowly opened his mouth after trying to erase his anger.
“Your Majesty, excuse me, but may I take my tutor to my parlor room to rest a bit?” (Reynsis)
Reynsis said with a calm voice, even though his heart is blazing with anger.
The Emperor, who had been impatient over Daphs’ behavior, turned his eyes to the 8th Prince. Before the Emperor could refute his words, however, Reynsis continued his reasoning with an expressionless face.
“She seems very scared, and I’d like to apologize on her behalf for being discourteous to you.” (Reynsis)
“…….”
“Older Brother should calm down a little. You seem too overly excited.”2
Reynsis said with a smile.
F#@& (%!* Daphs gnawed his teeth as he stared daggers at Reynsis. The rage and anger was boiling in his blue eyes.
“…Very well. I will allow it.”1
The Emperor nodded and glanced at Reyn.
He didn’t expect his son to behave so well-mannered as a member of royalty should be. He was impressed with his son and granted him this small favor.
‘Compared to Daphs…’
The Emperor looked at Daphs as if he was a pathetic son.
Daphs, who suddenly fell out of favor with his father Emperor stared at Reynsis approaching closer to him with bloodshot eyes.
As if he didn’t care, Reynsis walked past Daphs and approached Prim.
“Your Highness..” (Prim)
“Go for now. I’ll deal with him later.”
Reynsis whispered to her.
Prim glanced at the Emperor, and then peeked at Daphs’ raging eyes.
“…Prim.” (Elena)
Elena grabbed Prim’s arm gently.
“Go.” (Reynsis)
Prim looked at Eleanor again.
She was looking reassuringly at Prim as she patted her arm to comfort her, pretending to be calm, but Prim could read the shock lingered in her eyes.
When Elena and her grasped hands were tightened, Prim gave her a small nod.
The three of them bowed to the Emperor and departed from the Emperor’s entourage.
Daphs reluctantly looked at the three retreating figures getting further away, and grinding his teeth.
“Daphs.”
The Emperor’s subdued voice called for him.
“Explain yourself.” (Emperor)
***
As the door closed with a thud Prim finally let out the breath she was holding. The day before yesterday, Prim was able to relax. Her knees gave way and she buckled down towards the floor.
Elena, who was still holding on to Prim, started to lean downwards. ‘No, I’m dying right now.’
“Ugh… My arms” (Prim)
“Oh my, Prim!” (Elena)
“Let’s go.” (Reynsis)
Reynsis knelt down on one knee and leaned in close by Prim while he looked directly into her eyes to see if she was ok.
“I really thought I was going to die..”
Prim whimpered. Reynsis flinched at her response while he reached out to examine her.
“What happened before he grabbed you?”
“I don’t know, I just —”
“It’s okay. I’ll hear what you have to say later, for now, show me your arms first.”
Prim paused for a moment before revealing her arm under her sleeve. When his palms gently caressed the area around the red handprints on her pale white arm, his eyes darkened.
“…. I’m going to cut his arms off.”2
Reyns vowed darkly to himself. The hand that held Prim’s arm put too much pressure suddenly.
“Ah!”
Prim shouted in pain.
Oh lord. Reyn quickly loosened his grip, but Prim was looking at him with a frightened face.
“…W-why did you say you want to cut my arm off!?” (Prim)1
“I’m not talking about your arms.” (Reynsis)
“Then who?”
Prim lowered her eyelids as if she was about to cry.
Reyn shut his mouth and sighed internally. There was no point in making any more excuses.
“Prim..”
Just then, Elena softly called out to her. Prim raised her head, but Reynsis’s gaze was still fixed on Prim’s swollen arm.
“This person….” (Elena)
Eleanor looked at each of them back and forth with a puzzled look.
Like Prince Daphs who was with the Emperor, the Imperial family was clearly identified by their clothes and appearance. But this was her first time seeing him.
Elena, forgetting that she was being rude, looked at Reynsis’s face.
‘A blindingly beautiful face, with gray eyes.’
No way…
“The 8th Prince?”
Elena muttered as if she could not believe it.
Only then Reynsis raised his head and their eyes met.
