I’ll Become the Tyrant’s Tutor - Chapter 9
──────⊱◈◈◈⊰──────
It was already dark before he knew it. Reynsis closed the book he was reading as it was time to get back to his room.
He always hated the darkness. In a world where only black and white could be seen, darkness was like a prison where one could not see nor escaped.
So he had to go back to his room before the darkness blinded him.
It was when Reynsis was about to open the door, a familiar loud voice can be heard through the door.
‘What’s all this fuss about?’
When he opened the door of the study, the loud noise poured into his ears at once. Reynsis frowned at the sight in front of him.
“Gosh, what a coward!”
“I know right, it is as if he knew everything.”
The maids around Prim were clapping like seals. It was like the believers who served her.
(t/n if u r confused with who caught prim n mary in the last chapter, it was the maids passing by n joined them gossiping not reyn tho.)
“Well, what should I do in this case? I even sent a letter to him first, but there was no reply. Is it a mistake that he’s the one who shows interest first.”
Prim clicks her tongue and shakes her head.
“He’s been cheating from the start. I really can’t tolerate with a man like that
“But he’s the first one..”
“He has to make a move first, but if he runs, then the game is over. You can’t just confess straightforwardly. “
“Then?”
“Come on. Do as I say from today. You should never look at him even if he passes by. Being hard to get is the answer.”
“But..”
“I know how you feel but you have to do it in that way. This is how you can know about what his type, or what is his motive. Then after that, he will be like ‘why does she doesn’t glance at me like before? What’s wrong with her?’ Trust me, he will be running back to you.”
Prim explained with confidence, the other maids nodded their heads and agreed in a positive way.
“So do I. Louis likes to get everything checked, right?”
“That’s right, the more Layla wants to know, the more she will ask.”
Layla, the maid of honor nodded her head with a serious look.1
Prim nodded in the middle of the group with a proud face.
“You guys already mastered this, you can go down from the mountain now.”
Reynsis, who was listening to the maids, laughed in silence without realizing it. He was wondering what the hell this was all about.1
“You’ve got a lot of time, aren’t you?”
Reynsis asked with his usual cold voice. The maids, who were startled by the sharp voice, quickly noticed the Prince’s presence.
“Oh, you’re finally out!”
Prim was the only one who didn’t seem to fear him.
“You got out earlier than I thought.”
“What the hell are you doing?”
He asked with a grimace.
“I gave them my own tips. It’s an advanced skill you can’t even find in a book.”
Reynsis was too speechless when he saw Prim’s proud face.
“I don’t think I’m the one who asked you that…”
He had been lengthening his words, and soon decided to bite his lips. He intuitively realized that he would not be able to beat her if he said more.2
(note : he surrender sksks)
The lady-in-waiting couldn’t hide their surprise when they saw that the Prince stopped talking.
Her skill in dealing with the Prince was a high — they have never seen a painter like this before.
“…. I’m going now.”
Reynsis muttered slowly as if he was tired. Then, Prim also jumped up from her seat.
“I’m coming with you.”
“What’s the matter with you again?”
“You didn’t go to class today.”
“It’s over. Nothing about class.”
“You are cheating. Why do you finish my class at your own will?”
“You are too noisy. I don’t want to hear it.”
“You’re so mean!”
Then, they flung away from each other. The maids, looking at them are in a daze.2
( note: flung away means that they crossed their arms n look at the opposite side, it’s like a child arguing. )
“Maybe Lady Prim is really a Master.”1
***
After that day, the love counseling that she gave to the maids in front of the study must have worked quite well.
Through the talks of other maids, rumors about Prim were growing day by day.
The number of people looking for Prim has increased. To be exact, more and more people are giving Prim a credit.
At the same time, the time for Prim to visit Reynsis was getting delayed.
Reynsis stared at the sun as it was already lunch time.
Looking at the mud-colored sky, he was very happy that there was no loud voice to announce something in the morning, but he was sarcastic to himself.3
“She’s busy these days.”
Marianne, who was changing sheets, muttered to herself.
Reynsis turned to Marianne when he heard her.
“….No wonder she’s busy walking around like that all the time. Because she is the number one in doing useless things.”
Unconsciously, he answered bluntly.
“But I guess it’s not very useless. I heard people say that it’s a miracle.”1
“But it’s not the same. she is useless.”
“No, she’s not. Thanks to Prim, the rumors about you are dying down. At least in this Palace. “
—
‘After Prim came, I think his mood has changed a lot.’
‘Yes, speaking of which, remember the last time he quit saying he couldn’t see? I ran into him a few days ago, and he was painting beautifully.”
‘I knew it. I knew it. I could see it was acting.’
—
More and more people were believing in Reynsis.
It was all thanks to Prim.
‘You don’t know anything, but I know you knew.’
Marianne, who laughed silently, walked out of the room.
Reynsis left alone and thinking over Marianne’s words. Good words and rumors come and go among the maids. It was unbelievable.
Belles Palace is a Palace hidden away from people.
As it was the place where the ‘8th prince in the prophecy’ resides, there was little interaction from outside the Palace.
As the Prince refused to go outside, the people from the Palace refrained from doing other things unless it was of something important.
What was trapped inside the Palace was bound to rot. Following the owners, their heart started to darken.
But after Prim came, the atmosphere of the Palace changed.
The dull servants, who were gloomy, gradually changed. It was sweet and colourful that the laughter inside the resident has increased.
Reynsis was surprised to see them. To be exact, to himself, that he can be surprised at something.
(note : he learnt new emotion.)1
Suddenly a laugh came through the window. He turned his eyes to the sound.
She sat in the palace garden while talking with the maids.
Among the colourless maids, her red hair looked extra vivid and stands out the most.
‘How long are you going to stay like that?’2
What else was she talking about? She burst into laughter with a full overgrown expression.
‘That one.’
Reynsis blinked as he was a little surprised.
He could see that the Prim’s cheeks were becoming muted.
He never saw a color like that.2
‘Is that red, too?’
No, is that blood?
But it”s too open for blood.
He was sure in his eyes. Before he could confirm what he saw again, Prim got up from her seat.
The pastel color on her cheeks was nowhere to be found.
‘Did I see it wrong?’
He kept his eyes on Prim.
The maids looked sad and said something to her but Prim shook her head.
Leaving them behind, Prim quickly headed back to the Palace.
Reynsis turned his eyes to the door.
After a while, he could hear footsteps coming up the stairs.1
When the footsteps stop.
[ KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK ]
A knock was heard. Like a mind reader he can guess what will happen after the knocking sound is over.
That was an urgent knock that no one could find.
The door opened before Reynsis could say come in. And…
Her face showed up in his dark world.
When he remembered Prim’s face, he could feel a thump from his heart.5
Why is it so heartbreaking? Reynsis hurriedly turned to the book.
“Hello, Your Highness.”
The familiar voice broke the silence inside the room.
“I am a little late today, sorry.”
Prim smiled naturally as she approached him.
“Your popularity never cools down. It must have been pretty good to talk to you in front of the study that day. I’m dying of people looking for me all the time. Young people these days are very brave.”
Reynsis looked at her as if he had waited.
“Have you been busy doing such useless things?”
“What do you mean useless? How exciting and fun it is. I’d like to hear it from you, too.”
“……..”
She thought he would tell her to stop talking nonsense, but Reynsis was more calm than she thought.
‘Okay, that was a natural flow!’
In fact, it was naturally to investigate the scope of “Beauty” that she wrote in the original novel.
It couldn’t have been easy to find a woman that was fated to him in this big empire.
So, wouldn’t it be easier to find a heroine if she knew Reynsis’s ideal type?
“Do you have any ideal type?”
Prim asked carefully.
“There is no such thing.”
A firm answer came back. She had expected this, but she couldn’t help it when her swollen heart sank.
Of course, this question was meaningless to a man who lived only inside the Palace. He doesn’t have any chance to meet with anyone else. What kind of oblivious question.
Prim quickly agreed.
“Don’t worry, Beast. I’ll find her.”4
“I don’t need that. And, who’s the beast? You really call me whatever you want, hah.”
As soon as he finished, Reynsis’s fierce eyes touched her.
But Prim only smiled gently.
“Someday it will happen. I have the ability to see the future even if I look like this. I’m not being called a miracle for no reason.”
“From mind reading to fortune teller, you sure have a lot of variety.”3
“I am that kind of a person.”
Reynsis spoke sarcastically, but Prim laughed gently.
Reynsis who also judged that she was talking nonsense turned his head away and decided to look back at the book again.
But he couldn’t read the book. This is because he kept paying attention to the way she looked from the side of his eyes. 2
The tenacious gaze forced Reynsis to glance at her again. She was caught by his eyes.
“Are you interested?”
Prim asked with her shining eyes. He stared at her eyes.
“…….”
Strangely enough, he wanted to touch her once.
And, to be honest, he didn’t hate having this nonsense conversation with her.1
‘Why am I thinking about this?’
It was time he was about to face his book again. Then, Prim accepted his silence as a yes.
“Shall I try reading?”
“…….”
“Of course, it’s a joke.”
“Try it.”
“Pardon me?”
“You can try it.”1
Reynsis, who said such a word, stared at Prim.
